Horrible experience. No way to speak with a actual person. Every email takes days for anyone to respond. They don't send out gift cards in timely manner. Still waiting after ordering on Black Friday... See more

I just got a confirmation email that I purchased a $50 PlayStation gift card for someone I don’t know and never heard of.
Is this scam??

The same problem as with others.
I purchased a gift card on Lululemon.com (February 5) and received two emails—one titled "Unable to Process Your Order" and another "We Processed Your Lululemon eGift Card Order" confirming the purchase. My Order is #CND6MYD2K4
I'm confused because I haven’t received the gift card, and it seems there is an issue with the payment. Lululemon asked me to contact this company regarding this.
Their support said: "Allow me to explain that order CND belongs to CashStar. To receive assistance with their orders, it is required to call 855-741-1209. That is their correct support channel."
No email or any help from the website. Send gift card or send money back!

On the same boat. Bought 150$ gift card, was charged but got an email saying that something went wrong with my order.
I am willing to take a legal action if my issue is not resolved.
Order number is #CND6MY3PVK

Absolute joke, purchased a morrisons e-gift card for my mum that said delivery time would be that day into her email. I wanted to give it to her as a gift that day but after £250 leaving my account and numerous messages trying to find out where it’s gone. I’ve had NOTHING!
No email confirmation either! There’s no live chat or number to call - just a contact support which doesn’t tell you a wait time.

Purchased a $100 Eddie Bauer gift card with a $20 bonus gift card. Just found out it was only good for the month of January (I purchased it in December). It is my fault for not reading the fine print but I have never made a purchase with a bonus gift card that expired so quickly. Most companies just give you a real gift card.

I have been waiting for my Target gift card from cashstar for over a week for a squaretrade claim. I’ve been told it was resent twice and to check my spam. Obviously that would be the first thing I would do before contacting. Now they are telling me that the gift card was sent via email on a certain date and it would come from cashstar. I’m still waiting. Still haven’t received it despite them telling me I did.
Now why would I have squaretrade continuously cancel out gift cards to resend a new one? Make it make sense. I don’t have a working item I paid insurance for. I don’t have the $170 gift card to replace said item. I’m so irritated.

Same issue with me. Order went through with a confirmation email. Then another email saying order cannot be processed but charge on credit card was already authorized.
Feb 3/25 update: I called their number and after a very long wait someone answered and told me that my issue will be forwarded to their tech support, and wait 3 hours and I will get an email regarding status. I never got an email so I was really anxious that i got scammed. The following day, I did receive an email that my purchased gift card was sent to recipient. There was no explanation why the purchase/order cannot be processed when my credit card was charged.
Although, my issue was resolved, I wouldn’t want to go through this experience again. Purchasing something online should be seamless. I’m sorry but I would still stay away from CashStar from now on.

Tried to buy a Roblox gift card through them and while it said it 'cancelled ' it after I bought it, they are still holding and 'pending' my money. I just want a refund, I don't even care for the gift card anymore. Awful business, I doubt they'll help even after this is left. I just want a refund.
I'd be happy to show receipts but I'd prefer to do so privately.

Well well well.
Just like everyone else, purchased egift cards - cash star sent a confirmation email and within the same second sent an email that indicated the order could not be processed and thus was cancelled. HOWEVER. I was still charged from my account. It’s not even PENDING. THE MONEY WAS ENTIRELY WITHDRAWN FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT RECEIVING ANYTHING. Some BS with funds are still awaiting authorization on PayPal. Idk WTF IS HAPPENING! I NEED A REFUND RIGHT NOW! I hope your lawyers are ready Josh because I’m also COMING FOR YOU.
EDIT: ABSOLUTELY NONSENSE RESPONSE, AS ALWAYS. MY ORDER NUMBER IS #CND6MYB8C7. I NEED A REFUND *NOW*. DONT tell me WHAT is going on, or should be going on. You withdrew MONEY from my account when in the cancellation email it was imminent that NOTHING WOULD BE CHARGED. A big lawsuit is coming if this isn’t SORTED OUT INSTANTLY.

ok... so, tell me why they don't allow you to purchase the gift cards, citing an issue, yet still take the money out of your account.
i should've just bought it on amazon or something. didn't expect this company to be so unbelievably bad considering Roblox is somehow partnered with these dudes and advertises them if you want to buy a gift card.
tldr, buy from cashstar if you want your money to be taken, and POSSIBLY refunded after a few days, maybe a month, maybe a year, all depends.

Cashstar is an absolute scam, do not buy anything through them! I purchased a PlayStation gift card for the sum of €100, said it was for me as I wanted to print it off and give as a gift rather than it being emailed to the person I was gifting it to. Received an email saying they were unable to process my order and it would be refunded, then an email to say my gift card had been created. Waited a day later to receive the email with my actual gift card info and the digital code to be able to view it and print it out, received nothing and had to contact cashstar customer service. Customer service told me there was a processing error but that their technical team would look into it for me and soon after I received the email I was supposed to get straight away with a link to my gift card. Went to print it, only it was showing that there was no money on it, not the €100 as it was supposed to. Emailed customer service again, they said they could do no more for me and gave me a number that is not in use to contact playstation themselves to try and sort out why there was no money on my gift card. Couldn't get anywhere with PS customer support as it is just a chatbot, emailed cashstar again to say I wanted a refund as I was getting annoyed, and they told me that according to them, the gift card has been used. I haven't used it and I never even got to give it to the person it was intended as a gift for, so how is it used? Cashstar keeps trying to fob me off on playstation customer support and keeps saying that my issue is resolved but it isn't, they have taken my money but not given me a usable gift card for the correct amount that I paid as they should have. I believe they are being as unhelpful as possible because they have scammed me out of my money and are hoping I will go away. Never again will I purchase ANYTHING through this company and I am writing this so that hopefully no one else will be scammed out of money by them. It's apparent that this scam technique is used by them often, I am sorry that I did not look them up before purchasing a gift card through them or else I would have known better. AVOID CASHSTAR unless you want to pay for something that you won't receive, and then be messed around instead of refunded.

I was given a $50 e-gift card for thriftbooks.com and created an account and placed an order for $53.14. I gave my credit card which I thought was paying only $3.14. However two days later I noticed my card was charged the full amount and thriftbooks.com did not use the e-gift card. I emailed and also called customer service but they will not help and make this right. What a scam this company is!

I wrote a review a few weeks ago after I had also purchased gift cards as a Christmas present for our new Playstation- I was replied to by 'cashstar' but in the reply they wanted me to click a link- I am not falling for that one- refund the $125 that you owe me and the rest of the money that you owe people- ridiculous!!

Just spent 50$ on a Psn card and have not received it or anything. Does this company really think they can just scam people? I will be filling a lawsuit and finding others to be apart of it.

how does this company have the monopoly on gift cards for major retailers, like Nordstrom and Sephora? I’ve tried to purchase several gift cards for a family that lost all of their belongings in the Los Angeles fires and every time they process the gift card, and then cancel it. I thought it had to do with my account (tried several) and then had a friend try. She’s getting the same error. Further, wasted time on the phone with their CS team that was completely unhelpful. If I were these retailers, I certainly would be concerned that customers who are atempting to support their businesses are forced to go elsewhere.
