Great tool, that solves a genuine problem.

Last year we got a surprise CCS reconciliation bill of just over $3,000. Our income had gone up during the year and we didn’t update it properly, and I honestly didn’t understand how the system actually calculated everything.

I was sceptical about paying for “another calculator” because we’d already used the Services Australia one and it didn’t really help us understand the risk. But CCS Checker was different.

The scenario comparison is what made it click. I could model our current income vs what it would look like if my bonus came through, and it showed how much we’d likely owe at tax time if we didn’t adjust. Seeing the before and after across the full financial year was the first time it actually made sense.

We ended up increasing our withholding straight away and updating our estimate. That alone probably saved us from another debt.

It’s not flashy, and it’s not trying to sell you anything aggressively. It just clearly shows the numbers in a way that feels practical and realistic.

If you’re in that higher income bracket where a pay rise can actually create childcare risk, I’d genuinely recommend running your numbers through this. It gave us clarity and control instead of just hoping we’d guessed right.
