Jonathan was very friendly and immediately found the solution and fixed it. He also informed me of the problem when I asked.

Ugh! With my original defensive driving certification from American Safety Council test in 2023 expiring February 17, 2026, I completed my 2026 test on January 18th. The test was fine but my 2026 certificate never arrived and I forgot about it until my next car insurance bill arrived in early April. I contacted ASC on 4/2/26 (driversafetysupportATcertus.com) to ask for sending and the rep confirmed my completion and I confirmed my course ID, address and phone on April 3.
Another email on April 7: “Has my certificate been mailed? I'm renewing my insurance soon and need it to lower my premium.” No reply but I went to my profile on their site April 9 and found they needed more info than in 2023. I never got a request for additional 2026 info, but my completion was quietly stalled. Once I added new data to the profile I got this notification:
Congratulations, you have successfully completed the New York Defensive Driving course! You will receive an official certificate in the mail within 14 business days…
My next email on April/19: “I found that I had to update my profile to release my proof of completion on your site. I did this on April 9, 2026 but have yet to receive it. Can you please check to confirm that it's been mailed? My insurance is up for renewal by May 5.”
It was not. Their rep’s reply: “Your certificate will be shipped to this address and is expected to arrive within 7–10 business days via USPS… For future orders, we recommend selecting either Rush Processing or Overnight Shipping at checkout to ensure faster delivery.”
My reply: “I'm pretty ticked off that my certificate did not go out 10 days ago when your site first told me to allow for it. I made it clear to the last support person I corresponded with that I needed it by May. With reasonably timely release, your normal turnaround should have sufficed with no rush processing necessary. And now you're telling me it never went out on April 9 or 10 when I satisfied your site's new profile requirements, different than last time, that it never told me about in the first place!? And I have to wait an additional 7-10 business days? Can't you do better than this?”
ASC reply on April 21: “Apologies for the hassle. The reshipment request for your certificate to your updated address was already completed. As the information update was made last April 9, 2026, it was scheduled to ship out, and that made the latest date the 23rd of April. Please do expect your certificate to be received within the given time-frame.”
My May 5 email to them: “I am VERY upset that I have not yet received my certificate for the course I finished in JANUARY! Your 7-10 business days are long gone. Please send me my certificate in FREE expedited fashion. This is ridiculous!”
ASC reply May 8: “Apologies for what happened. As the certificate has not been received, we will be glad to resend it via FedEx within 2-3 business days. With this, could you please reconfirm your address, or do you have any alternative one? Please don't worry, our relevant team will be diligently working on it to have you provide an update as soon as possible.”
May 20, 2026: My certificate finally arrived by FedEx.
I will NOT be using ASC again and neither should you.

Jonathan was very helpful and very quick at resolving my issue.

Our biggest challenge was with the signing up and logging in to take the course
The course itself is easy and informational
Melan however, was an absolute pleasure to talk to on the phone. She was a 10 out of 10 in helping rectify our situation of potentially having the wrong name on the certificate.
