ALL THEY DO IS LIE, IGNORE AND SCAM!
On Sunday October 12 2025, my husband withdrew $1,000 USDT from his verified CEX.IO account (Ref UP140403519).
The funds left his trading account but never arrived.
After reporting the issue, his account was locked for “fraudulent attempts,” and every support message since has gone unanswered.
We’ve now submitted a formal complaint and are escalating to the Financial Ombudsman Service (UK) and Gibraltar FSC if this is not resolved within 24 hours.
We just want the funds released and transparent communication.
They’ve held onto my husband money!! He has an account with them for a LONG time now. He just hasn’t used it in a while. He decided to use it to withdraw some funds ($1000 USDT) and it’s now DAY 4 and NOTHING!
He and I wrote them multiple times AND THEY IGNORED HIM, only responded to me because I was very vague about the issue. When I raised the same argument my husband did and have him take over the chat, they basically said they’ll respond to him on the email registered to the account and said bye!!
Nothing since.
WE HAVE A KID. A BABY. WE NEED THIS MONEY. My husband works hard!
He wrote to them even through the complaint form saying, “Well, ONE OF the issues is that
Funds left trading account on Sunday and up to yesterday-Tuesday, I was not seeing the funds in my account. Today is Wednesday and I'm unable to see if it's there because of fraudulent attempts to log into my account which caused me to be locked out yesterday (Tuesday). No help from support since Sunday. Treat this issue with urgency.”
He got to log back into his account of valiant attempts to regain access after 2FA issues. But the funds are STILL not there. TODAY IS THURSDAY!!
I fear we’ll have to our lawyer involved, and I’ve sent a message to my cousin who is a lawyer to ask for her opinion before loading the big guns. THIS CANNOT BE THE STANDARD!!
Sooooo many people have the same issue as us. And let me not even get started on how they locked him out of his account a day or two after he requested the funds and tried to contact support about not receiving well over 24hrs after.
MORE DETAILS:
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, my husband deposited $1,000 USDT to his verified CEX.IO account (Ref: UP140403519). The funds left his trading account successfully but never arrived in the receiving CEX wallet.
After we reported the issue, his account was suddenly locked for “fraudulent attempts”—right after the missing funds were raised. Every attempt to contact support since then has been ignored or redirected UNTIL I reached out via email with legal threats…still to no avail. When I (his wife) reached out through chat, I initially got a response only because I was vague about the issue. Once I clarified it was about the missing withdrawal, they ended the chat saying they’d respond to his registered email—and never did.
We’ve submitted multiple support tickets and a formal complaint through the website. It’s now been over a week with no resolution, no transparency, and conflicting information in every reply.
We are escalating this to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service and Gibraltar Financial Services Commission if CEX.IO does not return the funds or provide verified transaction evidence within 24 hours.
My husband has had a CEX.IO account for years, with verified history and no prior issues. He simply attempted to withdraw funds he rightfully earned, and instead we’ve been left in silence—while caring for a newborn baby and waiting on money we urgently need.
This situation is unacceptable and alarming, especially given the number of similar complaints about delayed or missing withdrawals.
All we’re asking for is clear communication and the immediate release of the $1,000 USDT that left his trading account on October 12.

I am trying since over ONE YEAR to withdraw my money you still asking me for some unlogical things like selfie with your credit card. I told you many times I have a virtual debit card with my Apple Pay connected and this was for only one time use. I don’t have any idea which one it was, I used, it has been now OVER 1 year. I need my money back

The face I.D thing you guys have is the worstttt. Whoever came up with that Idea should be fired. immediately. It’s so hard to change something you guys recommended me to put on my account in the first place.

I opened a CEX.IO account in April and bought Bitcoin using my debit card. The purchase went through, and the BTC appeared in my wallet. When I tried to withdraw to an external wallet, the option was no where to be found, I saw just sell to Debit card as the only Options . I wrote the support but it was Ai that responded and nothing was done . I got frustrated and went on Youtube to ask how to withdraw , i thought i was going about it the wrong way . However the review i saw on Youtube was terrifying and i saw that i had to wait for 90 days for me to be allowed to send out to an external wallet . 90 days came and i revisited Cex to proceed with my transaction . It showed that i could send out , however when i tried to send out , it only gave me an option to send back to my card or paypal . Then i sent Back to my card but since 5th of September I sent to my card , it has been pending ever since and won't come back to my card . My case should be treated with urgency ,, i have borrowed money and i am yet to pay back . I have been embarrassed at my place of work because i owe my colleague ..

I opened a CEX.IO account recently and bought Bitcoin using my debit card. The purchase went through, and the BTC shows up in my wallet balance. However, when I try to withdraw to an external wallet, the option is no where to be found, I can just only withdraw back to my debit card
Waited 48 hours for nothing
If it's a matter of urgency please don't use this exchange
My bank statement shows two entries: first an authorization "check," and later the actual
"purchase" that posted several hours later. Even after the BTC appeared as available in my wallet, CEX.IO won't let me withdraw. Support articles only mention a 48-hour hold after account creation or when changing 2FA, but they say nothing about an extra hold after a deposit clears.
Right now it looks like CEX.IO silently blocks crypto withdrawals for ~48 hours after card deposits post, even though they don't disclose this clearly. If that's the case, it should be transparent to customers - otherwise it feels like my funds are being held hostage.
I’ll update this review once I can finally withdraw, but for now my experience has been very frustrating.

I was thinking about trying out CEX.IO but too many negative reviews here recently. So I'll not sign up for now. This is a note for CEX.IO - your lack of timely service and issues related to withdrawals is putting off new business.

Response from CEX.IO is reasonable. It would be good of them to flag T&C details so that users are not blind sided when transferring assets

I know there are more people like me that we have shared the same fate with this fraudulent company they refused to approve my withdrawals request for the fifth time ……….Seek help if you can
I refused to let them go away with my money filed a complaint and got everything back within 48hours

I tried to make a crypto withdrawal for an urgent matter, but the 2FA code was never delivered to my phone despite many attempts. I contacted support through their app, but the chatbot only kept suggesting I log in on the desktop and switch 2FA to Google Authenticator.
When I tried logging in from the desktop, I was again blocked by the missing 2FA code. Following further instructions, I selected the “lost verification device” option, even though that wasn’t the real issue. To continue, they said a code would be sent to my email, but no such email ever arrived after repeated attempts.
At this point, I was completely stuck and sent an email to their support team. While waiting, I searched online and was shocked to discover many similar cases—some users even reported needing to hire lawyers just to access their funds.
The next day, I finally received a reply admitting there had been a system problem. I was told to complete the “lost device” recovery process, which required re-verifying my identity with ID documents, a selfie, and details about my last deposit. On top of that, they suspended all withdrawals for 48 hours.
🚨 Right now, I am still waiting to see if I will ever be able to withdraw my funds. Based on what I’ve experienced—and what I’ve found from others—this is extremely concerning. Anyone considering using this service should be very cautious.

Cex.io is a scam and it’s sad that they are still allowed to run their business. Cex.io held my $500 deposit since 22 February 2024 and has refused to give me my money over a year later. Support ignores messages after receiving all the information they asked for and like everyone else experienced, it’s impossible to withdraw from this exchange but they take your money real fast and keep asking for information over and over when you try to withdraw. After giving them everything they asked for they stopped responding

I recently tried using CEX.IO and wanted to share my experience.
I opened an account and saw on their site that withdrawals to MasterCard (without IBAN) were possible. Since I only have a MasterCard, this seemed like the right option.
When I attempted to withdraw, I received the message: “This card is not available until you make a deposit.” Thinking it was an anti-money-laundering check, I deposited €20 and bought USDT. But even after that, the same error appeared.
When I contacted support, it took about 12 hours for the first reply, and another 12+ hours for each follow-up. Eventually, they told me that withdrawals to MasterCard are not actually supported by their provider, and that I should use VISA or bank transfer instead.
This left me frustrated because:
Their advertising is unclear (they say MasterCard withdrawals are possible, but in reality they aren’t).
Support is very slow.
I lost my €20 deposit and additional fees in the process.
This is just my personal review, but I don’t plan to use CEX.IO again.

After a few years, I decided to withdraw my 3 ETH from CEX.IO and transfer them to my friend's account, because my daughter is planning to get married. The transaction took 7 hours, after which I received a message:
"Your recent withdrawal has been rejected." And "Rejection reason: Something went wrong. Please give us a few moments while we fix the issue."
The next day I received an email from Bohdan Bunchuk, Head of Account Management, CEX.IO, (we had a very good communication in the previous months regarding some other explanations) where he tells me this:
"I am reaching out to you regarding your recent crypto withdrawal of 9980 USDT. Could you please clarify the destination of your withdrawal, e.g. another platform, your self served wallet, etc. Also, please specify the name of the wallet/platform. I will be looking forward to your reply soon." The next message was: "Could you please specify under what conditions you are sending these funds to a friend? Where did you meet this person (in live or on the Internet)?"
I explained everything nicely and then the answer came:
"I will check your case with the team. As soon as we have an update, we will reach back out to you. In the meantime, have a great day."
It's been 10 days and there's been no response, even though I've been sending messages in the meantime.
Even their AI assistant said he doesn't see any problem
I don't understand, what is my case, when you can clearly see that everything is clear and clean and why they don't allow me to transfer my funds
I hope someone from CEX.IO will read this and help me speed up this process.
P.S.
If everything goes well soon, maybe someone from CEX.IO will get a wedding invitation.
P.S.-2
Today is my birthday and maybe is good moment for some kind present from CEX.IO, something like possibility a withdrawal of my funds
P.S.
yesterday we solve all problem. Today everything is OK.The main problem was, why don't you allow me to send funds to third parties? Does this apply to all your users?

Edit: funny enough one day after this review was posted they promptly emailed me back and informed me I would have to surrender the funds in my account to close it. I hope they get what they deserve - every last one of them.
I submitted a formal request to close my account well over 1 month ago and haven't heard a thing back since. I even received an email confirmation that the process had started and everything... Not a single word from the company. Should be investigated for fraud and I will be reporting them for this since they can't seem to release someone's funds after me being a near 10 year customer...

No idea how the exchange is but I heard a lot of people had issues, especially when withdrawing money.
As far as the "community project" go, CEXIO is currently running one of the worst crypto scams in recent history with their Telegram tap games without any usability or anything backing that up. Then they transferred everything to BeCexy (still them, just a new name to take off the blame for the scam and rug pull) and think they will get away with it.

TOTAL SCAM PLATFORM. I invested a very large sum of money into some crypto. When I wanted to transfer it to my cold storage the blocked me after I withdrew $40k and refused to allow me to withdraw anymore. I had to hire an attorney to get involved. Apparently they hold your money and use it as leverage for them to buy crypto.

Had a hard time withdrawing my funds. Not going to use this again.
Lost access to account and now there is no way to regain access.
By far the worst customer service I have ever encountered (and no I'm not dropping my info on this response because it's a security issue).
Trying to get a hold of a human to talk to about my issue has been a massive pain. You basically need to work through a bunch of Automated Responses before you can get in a line to get info a chat with one of their agents which I have tried multiple times to do and have yet to connect with an actual person.

I have been trying to realise my crypto for a very long time. When attempting to withdraw onto a debit card, I have been sent in circles with requests to verify a long expired and destroyed card and requests to send photos of statements which my bank doesn't offer. As they have since added the option to withdraw to a Swift credential. I am now trying to use that and I am faced with a generic error message. This is a scam! They have stolen my money!

Apparently CEX10 have a 5 day response, which in Crypto terms means that people could lose a lot of money if they are having issues with their wallet or app. My wallet has gone up, I want to withdraw funds from my wallet. I cannot do so either on my pc or phone app. I was going to withdraw some of my money so that I could afford to go on holiday with my children. By the time someone bothers to get back to me, the prices will have dropped and I will have lost an opportunity.
5 day response is useless. They are so remote they might has well be in orbit! No helpline, no phone numbers just a remote and distant company who ask for information from me, and then still ignore my queries.
Another problem with CEX10. I cannot log in on my pc even though it used to. Now it doesn't recognise email address or password, despite it working in March this year and I have not changed the password.
Phone app is useless, despite constantly trying to withdraw money, I keep getting an action required notification, which despite sorting out, does not go away. I cannot withdraw money on my phone app.
So basically CEX10 have my money and I have no access to my funds.
I have attempted to log on on another pc but when it does let me log on, it doesn't recognise who I am and so I appear to have no money in my account despite my phone app saying I do.
I have had nothing but problems with this company from day one, and again I have more issues.
I would say find another company quite honestly as by the time anyone bothers to respond, my fund value will have dropped. The only thing I want is to draw some of my money out. But this is not possible.
Despite sending a response to this review and me replying, they have continued to ignored me and now I risk my wallet value going down. Seriously, don't use this company. A 5 day response is pathetic and there is no phone number.
Find a better way.

a few months ago i was unable to deposit or withdraw from my CEX.IO account, now i cannot access their website. It advised my 'SMS delivery is limited in your country' but when i try to use google authenticator, the moble app crash out and on my PC its asking me to enter all my credentials as a lost device. this makes absolutely no sense.
Update: the app advised to utilize Authenticator, and got this:
Mind you the app told me i would get a response in 48 hours, not the same day

My account seems to be disabled for trading and need the bank card verifying. Despite doing this endlessly, CEX.10 always says its failed. Although they seem happy to take deposits! Customer services are slow and not very useful. Nothing works and no one helps. Account is practically frozen.
