Horrible company. This was from last year, but they popped up again and figured I would prevent someone from choosing this company again. My experience was that you can cancel any time, as it states in their contract. They DO NOT let you cancel and you must contact your bank to cancel. I would get responses back that my representative would reach back out to me, which never did. Responses saying they canceled my services, kept getting charged. The support email was a canned response. I never got anywhere.
Last attempt was to contact the person's cell number that enrolled me for their services and he even said, "i'm sorry, they are horrible and I never even got paid from them. They scammed me too".
Do NOT use them.

I have been working with ppoc for years and never had an issue. Checkbook one day decided to suspend my account without any notice. I didn’t realize until 2 weeks later. And they wanted ppoc to contact them if I ever want to get my account back. But PPOC customer service didn’t understand why my account got suspended and why checkbook need them. They refused to do so but they did resent my payments by PayPal. Checkbook literally suspended my account and stopped my payment when their client didn’t have an issue. The customer service representatives are quite stupid. They can never answer my questions right. I’m asking about something they are telling about something else.

Note: Nice try but deflection and lack of accountability don’t look good on your company……after my post Checkbook IO attempted to have my review removed. Didn’t work guys. If only you were as fast with them direct check errors.
Do not use them for large direct check bundles. They seem to have a issue with this feature.
I work for the university I am mentioning. I fully understand how deposits work. When it time for checkbook io to issue refunds on behalf on my college they have issues. My review is not the first to comment on this inconsistency.
Is it intentional holding of the money? Let’s hope not. At best it’s a technical issue that has Persisted at least over the last year without any real changes on the end of checkbook io.
We have several thousand students who are very upset because they depend on that money to get by.
( they also assured accounting the issues would be fixed yesterday and was not)
My university uses them as a way to deposit student refunds. This is the second time in a month these payments where not sent out properly. It’s very frustrating as the accounts department at the college and the team here seem to take several days to weeks to sort it out.
In response to the response to my review. Of course you don’t dictate when my college sends out payment. However as they use your service the responsibility of successfully issuing these payment falls on your company and software. 20,000 student plus have been repeatedly delayed in receiving payments issued via the digital check. I have communications from my school explaining the issues. Deflection does look good on a corporation.

If I could give this company a zero, I would. I rented a week of vacation through Redweek.com and checkbook.io is the company they use to distribute payments. They deposited my money into the wrong account at the wrong bank. Almost $3000 gone. Communication with checkbook.io has been atrocious. There is no one to actually speak to. They say they don't have that capability yet. What kind of business is this. They said they sent a Letter of Intent to the bank where my money was deposited. When I asked for the content of the letter, I was told that they can't provide that information unless it is the insurance company for the person who was defrauded. It has been a month and a half and I am still waiting for a resolution to my situation. They also said they were not allowed to give me their physical address. It's in San Mateo, CA, by the way. I found it on the web. Why can't they give me a physical address? This is all very shady to me. If they resolve my issue, I will certainly give them credit, but so far I don't have much confidence in this company. I would not recommend using them.

I think it's really good and helpful, but I think they charge way too much for sending payments $1/per check is kind of crazy if you think of it. $.50 would be more reasonable for those of us that are sending over $50,000+ in a given month. If they lessened the expense I would give 5 stars. Also people seem to have trouble sometimes with depositing. Some form of support for those people would be very helpful that is easy for them to find.

No payroll information included with payment. No amount of online assistance made it possible to see any detail regarding the payment. Demanded I link my bank account, and still got nothing. Now they have all my banking info and provide zero services. Will have to change my log in information and inform my clients that I will no longer accept payments through checkbook. Data scammers is all they are.
Update - checkbook reached out and stated that the details would be coming, that the check deposit was still too fresh. It was deposited 24 days ago.... Guess I'll stick to my assessment for now.
