Scam alert
Like many other people, I have received a letter saying I may be due compensation on a previous car finance agreement and asking me to scan a barcode to claim. I have never had car finance!
Check Finance letter
Received a letter last weekend saying I might be due compensation for car finance. Checked the company and it is listed on companies house called Claim Simple Ltd. Not going to do anything at the moment as it was unsolicited but may use later.
I received a letter from them this morning
I received a letter from them this morning. It looked like legitimate letter but I only questioned and most likely knew it was scam is because I don’t drive. So I knew for a fact I wasn’t eligible to receive car finance compensation… I would be wary of the letter, if you receive one, and as others said, don’t scan the barcode.
Yet more fraudsters!!!!
Same as all recent reviews…received a letter today regarding car finance compensation. I googled Check Finance as it doesn’t seem like a genuine name and lo and behold it would seem they don’t exist!!
Put the letter straight in the shredder people and do not scan the barcode!!!

I just recieved a letter from them
I just recieved a letter from them. Complete scam. I have never applied for car finance. The letter looks ligit. They appear to have company. Ditch the letter.
BEWARE SCAMMER
I did some digging after receiving what looks like an official letter from Check Finance.
The address given on the letter has 18 companies working from it but not Check Finance
Checked on the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and they are not listed
Now reported to Trading Standards
Absolutely disgusting that this company can get away with scamming innocent people.
Scammer do not upload your ID
This is a scam
This is a scam. Throw it in the bin. I don’t know how they got my personal details. I’ve never had car finance.
Scam letter, potential phising attempt
Sent me a letter telling me that their records indicate I may be due compensation on a car finance agreement. I've never owned a car in my life, let alone one on finance! Also they sent it to my residential address rather than my postal address; I've not once signed up for any legitimate service using my residential address for postal services, so there's some kind of shady business going on here for them to be the only company to ever send something to my residential address while all other mail, both legit and spam, goes to my postal address
What car finance agreement???? Never had one
Received an official looking letter saying I may be due compensation on a car finance agreement. I’ve never had one! Came on Trust Pilot and lots of people say it’s a scam! I ripped it up and put it in the bin!
I stupidly scanned the code
I stupidly scanned the code it wasn't until it asked for my ID that I thought that's not right i tried to delete everything but had already received a email what can I do now?
Check finance
I received a letter today stating I may be due compensation on car finance.
SCAM….. I realised! Where did they get my details from 🤷♀️
The letter appeared quite legit. Apparently the address on the letter is a car park!!
So annoying. I didn’t scan the QR code luckily
Received a legit looking letter but a…
Received a legit looking letter but a bit of research reading reviews I believe it’s a scam
Fake fake fake
Never had a car on finance, 100% a scam, ignore and throw in the bin!
SCAM SCAM SCAM
SCAM SCAM SCAM - PLEASE THROW LETTER AWAY
I received a letter today regarding car finance, I have had car finance, but something felt off to me, so threw in the bin. After reading other reviews, so glad I did
Unsolicited mail
Received a letter stating I was probably due a refund re car finance.
Like many others, I have never had a car and don't drive. Something should be done to stop these companies getting our details.
Beware! Do not fall for this scam or their letter
Beware. Absolutely do not scan their barcode on the official-looking letter. They should be reported. They do not exist under that name or their so-called ‘trading style’ Claim Simple Limited at 7 Bell Yard, London.
They spelt my name incorrectly and there is only one legitimate company that routinely did this which was O2, who I can only assume sold their data on to other parties.
BEWARE PROBABLE SCAM
Letter received today from Check Finance. I have never taken car finance & am furious to receive this letter. Where have they got my personal details from I’d like to know. These type of letters should be banned & made a criminal offence.
