Pay less than the price of a coffee for peace of mind and to find out if the phone you are paying on ebay, (in my case £700), is clean, not stolen, and most of all not tied to a contract that someone... See more

CheckMEND is a service that helps the public and traders to avoid buying stolen property. We prevent over £35m per month of stolen property from being traded. Consumers are always at risk when buying used or refurbished property; a CheckMEND search before you buy can help you avoid a nasty surprise later. A CheckMEND report will alert whoever performed the search (retailers, corporations, insurers, police or members of the public) to the item’s history and status. You may purchase a used item that works for months or years, but when you try to sell it to a responsible trader, their check with us shows it was stolen before you bought it. This proactive crime prevention doesn’t always make us popular, but it does mean we’re doing the right thing. In the unlikely event that a record reported to us is incorrect, we provide full support to resolve it with the provider. Please, don’t leave a bad review because you didn’t like a result over which we have no influence. If you engage with our support team, we will always try to help.

Not that much helpful as aspected…

Not that much helpful as aspected because the service doesn’t explain Network lock /Date of purchased/Sold by/ It only says about blacklist which are free on many sites. I recommend not to buy this service. Waste of money

Hi there, A checkMEND device check is not only blacklist data but checks against the world's largest used mobile phone database including data from the police, insurers, retailers and networks. It includes checks for multiple registered owners, reported lost or stolen, previously recycled, subject to an insurance claim, outstanding finance and confirmation of make and model.

The initial check uses a flagging system but if more information is required please contact our support team who will be happy to help. Email: support@checkmend.com

But because I wanted it unlocking I went direct to phone supplier who then told me they couldn't unlock it because it had only been on contract 2 months .. luckily I hadn't gone through with purchase .

Phone Flagged as Stolen

Sent my phone to one of the well known UK recyclers only to receive an email that this company had flagged it as stolen. Got the report from Checkmend which showed an Asset Watch so I followed this up with a further email which was responded to within the 24 hour suggested period explaining fully what these terms mean. Matter now resolved to my satisfaction.
