My best culinary experience

Always cook at home normal food with no concerns about presentation or combining the right ingredients or including different textures on the food . I am a lover of fine Dining and how the food is presented and how in such a small plate we can travel around the human senses and experience different feeling with food ! When i decide to have Cooking Classes and be mentored by Chej Maj (Michael) i was looking to be able to learn and specially to understand the Techniques behind the Fine Dining cuisine, something that will help me to elevate my cooking level and help me on my Cook Journey . After 3 months of mentoring I feel that I have learn so much, that I understand now the basic techniques, learn about new ingredients, how to create different textures in one dish something that will help me with my journey and for sure will elevate the way I cook and share my passion with others ; I am so blessed that I took this trip with Chej Majk that help me on increasing even more my love for food and for cooking with more passion and more know-how on the Whys and Hows of Gastronomy :) Thank you Chef, Thank you Michael

Chef Majk's mentoring class was an amazing fun and educational experience

Chef Majk's class and coaching was absolutely amazing. The biggest thing that home chefs are missing is the opportunity to receive constructive criticism and objective feedback. When you cook for family and friends they will almost always tell you that your food is amazing because they know that you worked hard at it and they (hopefully) love you. But that means you don't know what to fix and what you an improve. Being able to get the instruction and feedback from a professional is what I needed to become a better cook.

Chef Majk assigns a new dish each week for you to cook and plate. He does not have you blindly follow a recipe or copy a plating that he created. This approach guides and teaches you, but allows you to be creative and learn. The actual assignments are well thought out and challenging. He challenges you to make things that are not something a home chef typically makes and encourages you to be precise with your plating and knife work. In just a couple of months I became a much better cook and improved my plating immensely. I can't thank Chef Majk enough for the opportunity to work and learn with him. This class is truly worth the money for any home chef that wants to improve. It was fun, informative, challenging, and educational!

Not your typical cooking class

This isn't your typical cooking class.

Do not expect "down-to-the-gram" recipes and step-by-step instructions, which makes the learning curve even steeper. But if you’re willing to put in the work, it will take your cooking skills to the next level.

Over the course of 12 sessions with Michal, I got a solid grasp of the main French cooking techniques such as the main sauces, different types of stocks or things like plating or using different garnishes to elevate a dish.

Michal was always available to answer any questions — whether it was helping me buy the right ingredients or clarifying on the cooking process.

12 classes learning cooking foundation and plating design - Recommend!!

I have been having about 12 classes with Chef Mail and I can’t believe how fast and how much I learned with just a few classes.

I used to make recipes by watching YouTube videos but was forgetting those recipes a few weeks later. With Chef Majk, I learned the cooking foundations that are essential for any recipes. How to make a soup, how to make a purée, Chips, cook different kind of meat, broths, etc..

Those skills I can now reuse them in my everyday cooking for friends and family. They all noticed the big change over time and I am happy about it.

He also helped me get better at plating design through constant feedbacks.

Would recommend it for sure!

A very happy amateur cook

I found out about Chef Majk from his youtube channel and got very interested in his approach (you don't normally see detailed fine dining recipes and plating on that platform) and booked 10 sessions/recipes with him.

It has been an amazing experience for me. I'm someone who likes to cook and to entertain friends and family but usually follow tried and tested recipes. I sincerely believe that after this personal coaching, I'll be wanting to experiment more and try my own flavour combinations.

Chef Majk won't give you exact recipes, he'll walk you through the different components for each recipe by giving you the basic explanation of the process and techniques to get them done, the rest is up to you - do you want sweeter, spicier, more sour? you decide. At the end your plating wasn't great, the balance of the elements was off? Try again (after all that's the only way you'll be able to come up with your own tasty dishes).

I had lots of fun preparing the recipes, and finding myself intrigued about the flavour combinations I was putting out on the plates, some recipes were easier to balance, others were a bit of a disaster - all elements tasted good separately but I couldn't make them work out together. But I know next time I will do it better.

Overall, I had great fun and believe I learned a lot from this and would recommend the coach to anyone who want to learn a bit more about fine dining cooking and plating. It is not easy and you'll need some time investment but it's totally worth it.

Elevate your home cooking with Chef Majk

Great investment for passionate home cooks who want to elevate their cooking to the next level.

I've been cooking since I could remember, but it is always the average stuff that you can get from a decent restaurant. I was always fascinated by the beautiful plating and flavour combination that fine-dining restaurant presents. I thought to myself, only people who've been to culinary school and had years and years of training can do that. Which is partially true.

With Chef Majk's coaching, I've learned to have a new mentality and approach toward cooking. His coach style is completely different than your standard cooking course which gives out recipes to the exact measurements and you just follow the recipe mindlessly. He provided you with enough instruction so that you can learn through trial and error, but not to the point of holding your hand. Chef Majk is also always available to answer any of your questions and doubts.

I do agree with the other reviews that Chef Majk could improve his course by giving some sort of visualisation for certain techniques. For example a picture of how dark the sauce should be, or how this vegetable should be cut to preserve the shape.

From now on, I believe I could slowly build up my own fine-dining recipes and hope I might be able to open up a little restaurant myself.

Hard desition…,.

In the beginning I was very hesitant to sign myself up for three months. For me that’s was a high amount. However as time went by, Chef Majk changed my approach to “high-end” cooking and presentation.
Today I’m glad I signed up. My approach to cooking has widened and I’m more encouraged to tackle the unknown in the Michelin culinary world.

"My $600 blender didn't make me a better cook, nor did my $400 frying pan... but Chef Majk did."

It's a worth investment for passionate home cooks.
Cooking has been my hobby for the last few years and I wanted to take it to the next level.

I did have bunch of fine dining books like "Eleven Madison Park" on my shelf but whenever I looked at it it was quite intimidating since the recipes looked super super complicated.

Now, I feel like I can try those recipes and even further, create my own fine dining style recipe.

With Chef Majk's coaching I got to learn the commonly used key techniques in fine dining, and also learn a lot of "WHYs" behind it.
For sure, it's not just lesson where he throws out exact recipe with exact time and gram, he really challenges you and forces you to pay attention to small details.
I got the impression that Chef Majk really really wants me to not be a "Recipe following bot"

For things that he can improve, I would say sometimes I got lost with visualizing stuff so if he can incorporate some videos for certain techniques so it helps out visualization.

Overall, it's definitely a worth investment for home cook.

That's all I'm saying.

Looking forward to work with you again during my next vacation season :)

Incredible Course

I have struggled for years taking my dish to the next level. Within seven courses, I'm now making dishes they could sell at fine-dining restaurants. Chef Majk gets into the small details of how Michelin star chefs think, their techniques, and what they look for. This has allowed me to create dishes for my friends and family without following a recipe. I can't recommend him enough and hope to work with him more to improve other areas.

Beyond my expectations!

I applied for Chef Majk’s course because I wanted to attempt fine dining at home for my family since COVID prevented us from dining out frequently. What I got out of the program was beyond my expectations. Chef Majk is extremely professional, always punctual, cares deeply for his clients’ progress and have pushed me out of my comfort zone with crazy cooking techniques. He is also brutally honest and doesn’t just say what clients would want to hear. His honesty and approach to teaching cooking techniques vs. exact recipes is what I needed to elevate my cooking. At about our 7th recipe together, I had a breakthrough of incorporating the skills taught in the program to complete my dishes on my own which was a huge sense of accomplishment! This is not an easy program by any means. Sourcing the ingredients, planning the dishes in advance and cooking required a lot of effort which was challenging at times (I’m a mother of two with a fulltime job not in the kitchen) but you get out of the program what you put in. If you are serious about elevating your cooking skills and tired of looking for recipes every time you host a party, sign up! You will not regret it. All of the dishes I’ve learned from the program which I’ve prepared for my friends and family so far, they were all blown away. Presenting the nicely plated dishes for my loved ones and having them feel special makes me extremely happy. I’m grateful for Chef Majk’s amazing program which helped me grow so much in the kitchen!

Best investment for home cook!

Working with Chef Majk increased my confidence, skill, and plating in the kitchen 10-fold. His knowledge of techniques used in restaurants will undoubtedly help any amateur home cook who is looking to improve their cooking.

Although an instructional video of a few techniques would’ve been useful at times, Chef Majk was available for questions anytime of the day and was very willing to help me throughout the week.

Again, I can’t recommend him enough for a home cook who is looking to take their cooking and plating to the next level!

Great course to take your cooking to the next level

Great course overall to take your cooking and plating skills to the next level!

Through a number of lessons you prepare dishes on your own time and then get detailed feedback on the dish's individual elements and presentation. There's a high focus on introducing concepts rather than step by step introductions, which suited me perfectly. Chef Majk is very open to questions in his lessons and seems very qualified.

At certain points it would've helped me to have a bit more of a visual guide (pictures/video) of how certain things are supposed to turn out, especially if I had no familiarity with the item beforehand - be sure to ask Chef Majk for help in such cases, as he's very detailed with his support. Similarly be upfront if you lack a certain piece of equipment so things can be adapted, Chef Majk is quite open and flexible in this regard.

Overall, I found the course very interesting and helpful to introduce me to fine dining concepts (what parts combine to make a starter/main/desert) as well as introduce a number of cooking techniques instead of just gram by gram recipe instructions - the core value for me was Chef Majk's in-depth feedback on each dish's preparation and presentation, which took me from making "normal" dishes to ones with much more of a fine dining style.

Great for people serious about their food...

When I began corresponding with Chef Majk, I was both excited at the opportunity to learn from someone that clearly made beautiful food but my typical millennial self was also skeptical that I was just being sold a bridge, so to speak, as so many other online offers tend to be. After meeting face to face (via zoom) and getting the impression that he wasn't full of BS, I went ahead with the lessons and I think it was a great choice. He took my food from relatively tasty and not hideous looking to fine dining restaurant quality in about 6 classes. If you're an enthusiast or a hobbyist and you want to take your food to the next level, you've gotta put in the work, it's not magic tricks and hacks, but if you're serious, Chef Majk will elevate your technique and understanding in your home kitchen to the level of a fine dining / gourmet restaurant.

He aims to help you improve.

I can't thank Majk enough for his teaching. I loved his input and guidance, picking up so many tips and tricks as he explained things and gave feedback. He really aims to help you grow and improve. He has so much knowledge that you can glean as he explains things. I used to look forward to our regular catch ups and his helpful input. I have come away with things that I can continue to implement and refine. Thanks again Majk.

Strongly recommended!

I have been having classes with Chef Majk for ten weeks and have mastered more than what I learned from cookbooks and videos over the past ten years. Chef Majk is not only an experienced chef but also a skillful mentor. He designs personalized training plans and recipes to make sure you get to practice a variety of technics and are constantly learning something new. Also, having coaching classes with Chef Majk is totally different from watching videos. You'll get his professional tips to help you execute the recipes, and if you screw up something, he's always there to answer your questions. Most importantly, you'll get his detailed feedback to your dishes. Remember to tell Chef Majk how you execute the recipe and what the flavor profile is like - you'll learn more through the discussion.

Amazing and unique unique experience

Personal coaching was a great and unique experience with Chef Majk.

I can see the progress in my dishes from the beginning all the way up to the end of my coaching program.
Chef Majk was always there during the entire coaching and was replying very quickly to my messages answering every question I had.

I could clearly see that the recipes, cooking techniques and flavour matches were not from somewhere that you can find by googling around but actually tested and executed in a Michelin-star restaurant.

The program was tailored made for what I asked for me and Chef Majk successfully delivered what was advertise… to make you think and cook like a professional chef at home.
Also managed to surprise me with a few tricks and techniques that I haven’t thought or seen before.

Thank you very much chef Majk for your time and effort you put on my training.
Please continue to inspire and motivate more home cooks.

Would recommend!

Chef Majk (Michal) has a wealth of experience in most aspects of the culinary world. My cooking skills have improved so much with his help! Learning from online videos is not the same as having a real professional guiding you. Definitely would recommend to everyone!
