Automatically renewed after 12 months with no warning on full price (I purchased last year on a heavy black friday discount). Then AI chatbot and apparently 3 days to reply? Ridiculous

Diamond membership after 7 day trial for $6.5 / month? I decided to subscribe. Imagine my surprise when after trial expired I was charged $78.
Chess.com advertises $6.5 / month and they put below in tiny teeny letters, in a color with no contrast at all "when billed annually". This is fraudulent. You can't do this.
Asked for refund and filed a dispute with paypal.

In my experience, Chess.com’s fair-play system can be extremely frustrating. My account was closed for an alleged fair-play violation even though I never cheated or had any unusual winning streak. The ban felt sudden and unexplained, and I was not given any clear evidence to understand what supposedly happened.
What makes the situation even more difficult is that it’s nearly impossible to reach a real support representative. The automated chatbot doesn’t provide meaningful help, nor does it create a ticket that gets forwarded to an actual staff member. As a result, you’re left without any human assistance to clarify or resolve the issue.
On top of that, having a fair-play ban displayed publicly on your profile is very upsetting. When the accusation is incorrect, it feels unfair and damaging to your reputation, especially since there is no straightforward way to challenge or discuss the decision with a real person.
Overall, the lack of transparency and the absence of accessible human support make the experience extremely disappointing.

Worst puzzles Library ever, I did puzzles for 6 months in chess.com which I now can say with confidence that these puzzles are generic, non sense and lowest quality, since I m a beginner I thought my real strength would improve but I was stuck at 400 elo, I started doing high quality hand picked puzzles and doing them as woodpecker method and my rating skyrocketed by 400 ELO points in 2 months, so the outcome speak by itself

After having a paid account for two years and seeing nothing but rampant, non-stop cheating/sandbagging, I wanted to see if the claims that "we take cheating seriously" were true or not. So I created three separate accounts using three separate emails and played rated games in two of the three in which I used engines, non-stop each time. I wanted to see how long it would take Danny Rensch to catch me and ban me. I also ran all of the completed games through an analysis software suite designed by a computer engineer classmate of mine. These were my results:
None of my accounts were banned or suspended at any time. I received no warnings of any kind, even when I did egregious things trying to deliberately get caught. For example, with one account I went on an unbroken winning streak of over 70 games. With the other I deliberately went on a losing streak of 80 games. Nothing was ever done, and both of these accounts remain active unto this day.
With the third account I played normally with no engine and no help. My classmate's software routinely showed that even though this account was rated 750, comparable opponents showed postgame ratings starting out at 1500 and going as high as 2050, with move accuracies on the low end around 84% and the high end at 98% accuracy. These are supposedly players in the ratings range of 750 +/- 50.
From this experiment I have the learned the following things, which I want to share with you: 1) despite their endless claims of concern, nothing is being done about cheating or sandbagging and never will be, and no one at chess.com cares. 2) chess.com will mute your account if you post or say anything in the forums like I am saying here in this review (I tried to before posting this, and was muted). 3) the 5-star reviews to keep chess.com from getting a 1.0 score here overall were most likely written by Danny Rensch's employees, friends, and/or titled players. 4) chess.com is a financial grift crafted to make money off of unsuspecting and innocent players unaware or #1 thru 3. Read the other reviews here to see how new players were defrauded and lost their money.
Conclusion: chess.com is a very dirty website, run by dishonest and unethical people. It's very unfortunate but too many US companies are run in this fashion, today, and sadly it's accepted as normal life, now.
Play there if you must, but don't give them any of your money. Danny Rensch and his company are frauds.
This website has lost it all and its so annoying and gets stuck so frequently on my 1GBps connection. So many cheaters and no action whatsoever. plus the clock are out of sync. website owners and moderatos were not so pro from the get go but this seems to be soon to be downfall of this website when users starts disconnecting from chess.com. i would give it less than minus 5 star if possible.

I tested chess.com with premium subscription for a week. Then the subscription has been automatically extended to 1 Year and with costs. This was not a trap or a trick, I just forgot to cancel the test membership by mistake. I contacted the support and asked vor revocation of the membership under german consumer laws. After I got in contact with a support person, chess.com refunded me the money. I think this was handled very well by chess.com and it should be mentioned here.

Don’t care about the cheating, it’s all about the money, right
And apparently there are cheaters everywhere
The funny part? The Reddit moderator is so busy banning the people who report it, it’s like they are the head of PR for the cheaters
Your so-called fantastic anti-cheat system boils down to relying on some guy on Reddit
Brilliant
A real case study in accidental comedy

I’ve been removed from Chess.com twice for no reason. I only play on my phone and against bots, never with real players, because I prefer fair and honest games.
It’s ridiculous that they threaten and punish honest people just for playing with robots. I have never cheated, never used any kind of assistance, and yet they keep punishing me.
I’d rather pay for another app where people are honest and where the system can actually tell who is cheating and who isn’t. This platform has become disappointing they treat good players like criminals.
And the worst part is that they ask you to “admit” something that isn’t true just to let you create a new account. What’s the point of accepting guilt for something you never did? That’s not justice or respect toward honest players.

It's fun being able to play chess on line but the rating system is completely inaccurate. I have played people who were rated a 1000 who were much higher than that and I have played people who were 2000 who were much lower than that. So don'e expect to get anything close to a real chess rating.

The game is glitchy, as sometimes pieces move where you didn't drag them to. The entire membership system just puts 90% of the features that SHOULD be free behind a £9.17 subscription (overpriced just to be able to see what you did wrong in a chess game). The membership system also gives a free 7 day trial, which can increase to 14 days if you decide to try and cancel it. The free trial attempts to make people interested in the features to buy the overpriced subscriptions or forget they even subscribed to the trial.
I'm typing this review at the time I cancelled my Diamond membership.

When you are playing in a 'non-vacation' tournament, it doesn't show up in the app. So, when you take vacation you thimk all games should be paused. However, there's no indication that the 'non-vacation' games run out of time. Eventually you notice because the game is ended in favor of your opponent.
Maybe the worst part of this is that we tried to contact chess.com multiple times, no reaction, however. They don't care about you or the software mistakes in their app.
The suggestion to "Get more help" and submit a bug, doesn't work. We have submitted it multiple times, never got a reply (we asked for a correction of our rating). The bug is still there (nov25)

very bad website, gives monthly subscription with shitty stuff, does nothing when players harm themselves because of bullyism
What an f ing joke. Cheats are like a plague and chess.com block me for calling them out???? Do not give this site a penny. Use it for free but be aware 80% of people are cheaty little di cks
My dad was Jr.GM and myself reached 1900 by the age of 19 that would be normal for somone whos played 3 matches a day since the age of 5 with him, then start playing at this b.s. site can explain why I am getting slaughtered by 1300 rated players with 10 seconds left despite being down massivly in points. I annalized a bunch of my games in chat GPT which confirmed what took me forever to realize. This site has robbed me of my chess experience for the past 7 years. they have me questioning my own intelligence. This year I wanted to see what would happen if I didnt buy the subscription. and it became appearant that this is how they get you to give them money saying you need leasons blah blah. lets not forget to mention the censorship you never get a rematch and the bots dont talk back... they should be sued for this garbage site.

Looking for intermediate advice, was offered the most basic advice. I'm surprised it didn't explain how the different pieces moved. And the free course was almost insulting.
I'm also disappointed that I thought I had signed up for monthly payment, only to find they took a yearly payment. So I'm paying for 11 months of useless help I don't want.
There are better alternatives, including at least one free app.

Gives puzzles with obviously wrong solutions. Then offers to watch a video to understand the said puzzle better.
Must pay for said video.
Not to mention connection problems and cheaters, this predatory business model alone should be defined as cancer. Don't use chess com. There are much better options out there for decent chess experience.
