I decided to purchase a ChickenGuard door opener in March 2022, after several years of perfect operation of my VSB opener it decided to retire.
My choice was based on the company manufacturing in the UK and the additional functions the ChickenGuard unit had.....all came with a premium cost.
The first unit lasted 17 months before going faulty, this was replaced under warranty in December 2023. The second unit has now gone faulty and no repair was offered just a 20% reduction for me to purchase a new unit. This was following 2 phone calls, 3 emails and 2 messages left on their ridiculous AI Chat........no thank you!
There are numerous door openers now on the market especially from China, these retail around £30 not the premium price of £150+ of the ChickenGuard.
If the quality matches the price then you dont mind, but certainly not in my experience, the chickenGuard products are no more reliable than a very cheap Chinese opener.
KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT........YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED

The motor of our chickenguard All-in-one gave out. After contacting Chickenguard we received a fast response and solution from Maribel. They send us a new motor and a link with the instructions. After a week since the first contact our automatic door works again. Great service!

I would like to say what a great company Chickenguard are to deal with. I had purchased an automatic chicken coop door and it stopped working just inside the guarantee period. After trying to help me get it fixed, I was asked to send the motor unit back and they sent out a new one. Many thanks and keep up the excellent customer service.

Purchased ChickenGuard secondhand, easy to install and set up, have had one issue where the door wound itself fully up but that was easily rectified with the help of the ChickenGuard team. I find the menu a little tricky to navigate but that is because I only change the timings very occasionally. Great product highly recommend.

I had an issue with my door…..called them….initially tried to help me via the call ….then called me back on video call & Tracy was so incredibly thorough….unfortunately it couldn’t be resolved….but within 3 days sent me out a new part….they have also emailed every step of the way….amazing customer support….faultless

Excellent service.
Our chicken guard motor stopped working, we sent it back (free postage) and they fixed it for free within a day! It was then posted straight back and is as good as new. The communication was quick and easy and I’m so glad we emailed and didn’t just go out and buy a new one.

Responsive and knowledgeable customer service, great product. We have used the Chickenguard automatic door openers for many years with great success. On our newest purchase, the motor was noisy. Customer service addressing this concern was excellent. They walked me through troubleshooting the issue and when not resolved, sent a new unit promptly, which works beautifully!

Our chickenguard had a problem with the display and I couldn't use it at all. We exchanged informations and photographs with the customer support service. It took only a few days until I received a new PCB Board, I can use again the chickenguard. I am very pleased with the service which has always been very helpful and quick ton answer when I had a problem.

Superb service. My 2nd chickenguard had a problem with the sensor but thanks to the wonderful people at chickenguard, the matter has been resolved quickly and efficiently. If only more businesses were as professional as Chickenguard. 10 out of 10 for customer service. I couldn’t be more pleased.

When buying my automated chicken door unit, I had many brands to choose from.
The Guarantee was a major factor 2nd to the price.
Chickenguard wasn’t the cheapest for sure. I’m glad I chose this device and this company.
I encountered a problem well after the expected guaranteed period, the problem was rectified for me straight away.
I can’t thank them enough for their attention and for rectifying the problem, my mornings are free again.

Good product and AMAZING customer service

We’ve loved our Chicken Guard. We recently had an issue with it that I couldn’t sort at home, so they were super helpful.. arranged for a collection of the door, replaced the computer board and sent back very quickly. We’ve been very impressed with the high level of after care, aswell as the unit itself.

ChickenGuard Doors are great !! They withstand the extreme heat and cold of Texas. They are durable and dependable !! Great Product !!

I can't review the actual product yet because I still haven't received my order because there service is very bad:
14/01: ordered chickenguard all in one in grey
15/01: received mail than grey was out of stock but they could send a red one, but on their website only grey was avaible to order not red, so their website was not correct! I didn't want red so had to wait for the new stock (1 week they said)
27/01: more than a week had passed, still no door, so I had to mail again
27/01: received answer that there was a delay but the stock had arrived and would be sent within 24 hours
30/01 (when I write this review): still no door!!!

It's most unfortunate - and, these days rather uncomprehensible, as well - that you cannot regulate the sensitivity of the light sensor of the Chickenguard (pro). You can only (de)activate it, nothing more. Whereas I really would like e.g. to have a little bit less sensitivity so that the door closes about 5 minutes later than it does now.

Purchased a chicken guard pro kit solar after it was recommended by a friend. First unit wouldn’t power on. Second unit sometimes opens and closes on the sensor, sometimes doesn’t. When the door does open it doesn’t open fully despite numerous attempts to recalibrate. Chickenguard have always been quick to respond but refuse to replace a unit which is clearly not fit for purpose. Their response is that the unit won’t open in winter in Scotland as it’s too dark for the sensor to activate. And for issues with door calibration I need to have a chicken coop with a front at least 80cm high. I would NOT recommend this company under any circumstances.
