I attended the RYA First Aid course yesterday. The facilities are very good with plenty of parking. Our trainer (Alan) was very experienced with plenty of real life examples to enhance the material.... See more

Better than expected
I thought this might've been a very basic course just touching on the different systems of an engine. But it was more in depth than expected and very educational. The instructor was Very good at explaining things
Absolutely great Diesel engine course…
Absolutely great Diesel engine course by John yesterday. Perfect learning environment and tone set by John. Explained things so well, simplifying and breaking the items down into the component parts. Fun, entertaining, relaxed style. Modern classroom with great engines to work on and a running one other side. Parking easy and excellent kitchen facilities. All round excellent. Would recommend for and course.
A very practical course.
A very practical and hands on with question and answer sessions throughout the day.
It was useful that the instructor was both ex military and paramedic, using his previous experience to set the scenes.
I only have one criticism is that there were 2 members of staff on the course who had a different agenda to the rest of the course members. Otherwise a very enjoyable course with a gregarious instructor

Plethora of knowledge and confidence in what they do.. which they're also very good at passing on to you!
Thank you so much Doug
Doug is a fantastic trainer, great experience and he knows very well how to stimolate the students.
Absolute satisfied.
Excellent Yacht Maintenance Course
Really enthusiastic instructors and loads of hands-on experience, including with a running engine on the diesel course, building marine electric circuits, plenty of ropes to splice and sails to mend.
Great diesel engine course
The 2 day diesel course (RYA 1 day and supplementary follow on) was great. The instructor was clear and helpful, there was a variety of machinery in the classroom (and outside) to get hands on with. I would definitely recommend anyone that’s looking to do the diesel course to do the full 2 days and not just the RYA 1 day.
Well organised
Well organised, based on personal experience, adds value.

This is the second course I've done with chieftain Training and, as with the first course, it was fantastic. The facilities and equipment were second to none and the trainer was extremely knowledgeable and engaging.

Supporting The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.
Alan the instructor was not only so knowledgeable himself he was able to download this knowledge to our group of 12. He was constantly checking we understood and was demonstrating that understanding throughout the day.
An excellent day. Thankyou Alan.
We at the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust now have greater confidence in supporting our many canal boat customers.
A positive couple of days training.
It was an informative and interesting couple of days doing my Powerboat Advanced course. The course was dynamic and helped me improve on my weaknesses.
The instructor (Pete) was great, and taught us in a way that we all enjoyed and learnt from.
The first day was a long day (due to night navigation), but due to the break at Cowes, I didn't feel tired by the end of it.
I cant wait to come back to Chieftain Training to do my CoC and a few other courses. I highly recommend this training centre.
World Sailing Offshore Survival
John, was a great instructor and mentor, which together with an eclectic mix of yachties on our course made it a super experience with very much learned and relearned.
Sea Survival/WS Offshore
Initially I was annoyed that the RYA effectively mandate turning Sea Survival into a qual that has to be revalidated, but having not trained or practised in this area for 24 years, I'm so glad I did it again. As always with Chieftain: slick, professional delivery from industry experts.
