From the moment I made the train enquiry to receipt of my ticket, the service was excellent. Fabio led me through the process and made sure the tickets reached my hotel in time. This is not a normal route so very little accurate information is available. As I had a few days to fill in between trips I chose train travel rather than air. At first I was advised that there were no seats -- there were only two in our whole carriage.
What I did fail to realise was that there was a delay of 12 hours in Erenhot -- had I known I would have booked a day room in the adjacent hotel. Another 4 hours in Zamin Udd - eventually we were advised that we could actually get off the train -- very useful as you cannot use the toilet when the train is stopped.
None of this is China Highlights problem - their service was excellent, especial thanks to Fabio for his care and attention

I booked quite a few high speed train tickets from the agency in the summer of 2025, including Chaling to Zhang Jia Jie, Chen du to Xi An, Hongkong to Guang Zhou , etc. The service is reliable and I got all the tickets that I need.

I booked a train ticket from Beijing to Xi'an and everything worked great!!

We took the night train from Shanghai to Beijing (hard sleeper) and overall, the ride was very pleasant and everything went smoothly. The train conditions exceeded our expectations — everything felt clean, relatively quiet, and more comfortable than we anticipated given the ticket type.

That said, a few things could be improved. It would have been great to choose our specific bed (upper, middle, or lower) in advance, and we also wish there were more photos or clear info about the train layout and ride types available before booking. The booking process itself felt a bit uncertain — we paid without being 100% sure seats were secured, and only later had to pay extra to confirm them.

Still, the journey was enjoyable and we’d definitely consider doing it again!
