SCAMMERS - DONT USE

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ID. Get a provisional instead. they are SCAMMERS and you won't get the card for some reason, and then they will not refund you because they hide behind their terms and conditions loop hole stating you pay for the service of the applicaiton and not the card which remains their property.

If you are unfortunate to use this company and have been scammed, contact your bank and raise a chargeback dispute to get your many back in full. Your bank will refund you. ignore any response from citizencard to this review, it's all lies, they are cowboys and scammers. I've reported them to trading standards and filed a chargeback against them.

Enjoy paying the chargeback penalty from your payment provider, cowboys.

Easy to follow and use

Easy to follow and use. Express need a little bit dear. Just totally cheesed off that at 54 the Government insists I need an expensive plastic photo to prove my identity. The bizarre thing being I don’t need it to prove my identification extremely quickly with them to get the card I need to prove it with everyone else!!!!!

Do NOT use

DONT fall for their legal loophole nonsense! Contact your bank and raise a chargeback dispute and you will 100% get your money back in full, don't listen to them!

Just get a provisional license or something else, don't bother with these absolute robotic people with terrible customer service.

I paid for a next day replacement. They asked me to send a new photo, which was not stated at the time of purchase. Fair enough, I simply asked them politely to cancel it and they email me back with a passive aggressive reply saying NO and that they will still charge me?

They say my photo is ten years old so they need a new one. I am a sixty year old woman, not a sixteen year old who's going to change drastically in appearance still going through puberty for god sake. Even if this is the reason, fair enough, but give me my money back and don't be rude and lie tha you can't refund, because that goes against consumer rights.

I can't wait to launch a chargeback dispute against these scum and let their payment processors hit them with the chargeback fee!

They also like to try and hide behind legal loopholes to refuse a refund, claiming the money you pay is for the service and not the card so they won't refund. So the extra £17 i paid for next day delivery is also for the service despite nothing being delivered? Very funny people. Don't fall for their lies and just raise a chargeback dispute with your bank for a full refund, your bank will give it to you 100%, I've dealt with cowboys like citizencard many times and I'll always get it back, disregard anything they reply to this review with, they are liars and cowboys.

Id give this 0 stars if I could.

I applied for a citizens card as my mum and dad got me one for my 18th birthday and I lost it so I applied for a new one. They then told me I had neve head one, basically making it out like I was lying. When I asked for a refund they refused, so I asked to speak with a manager which they also refused then told me " this decision is final" as apparently they had done nothing wrong. Their customer service skills are absolutely appalling and I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to go with them. They're cheap for a reason. Go somewhere else with better quality and customer service. Absolutely dreadful company and service.

Lengthy process

The card is good itself, however they couldnt confirm my first reference. On their list it says doctors can verify. I asked my doctors and they couldn't. I eventually was able to verify my details with a funeral director. I asked for a refund in between because of how long the process was, and I was told I wouldn't get a full one. Took nearly 2 months to come through. I no longer needed it then.

Very good support centre

The online application process is clear and easy to follow. I had one issue with the photo format, which was due to health and mobility issues. The support team were very good and resolved the issue quickly and efficiently.

The fastest service ever

The fastest service ever. Paid the higher fee to hopefully get the card in a week's time. But what a surprise! Applied early on a Friday morning and received it the next day by 10.00! Amazing!!

Scammers

All documentation accepted. the 3 weeeks later driving license refused because it was blurred. I asked for a refund and the gave the same answers to me as all other answers in these reviews.I wish I had read them before forking out my money and of course refund refused.
Added. Same answer again. Your system would not allow me to use a passport and I tried emailing you with no reply. As I said you are scammers.

I only needed a renewal

I read the reviews and a good lot of…

I read the reviews and a good lot of them misunderstood, a lot saying they don't reply to emails (they do) just not on weekends, step by step couldn't be any easier and had a teacher referee me all went well and card ready to be sent, I've had zero issues with them
Also it does stat 1-2 working days WHEN ALL DOCUMENTS ARE DONE then process take place depending on you're purchase, people misunderstood that, thought I'd explain to help

Again no problems at all quick and easy just get a good referee if you can't verify the other way

I wish I had read these reviews before paying upfront for a card I will
probably never receive!!! Initial questions sent to my referee … second email apparently sent with security questions… not received. Chased numerous times….. no email received by referee. No contact number so you have to email every time. I have a very upset soon to be 18 year old. We have an over 18 event booked and looks like we will have to cancel due to this absolute rip off company!!!

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service, sent them everything they wanted photo, birth certificate, marriage certificate my referee and I don't know how many emails I've had off them, I've been waiting for my card now over 30 days and I really don't know when in going to get it as they don't answer my question! I'm 67 years old, British citizen, lived here all my life, got a national insurance no...what more do they want, I've been treated like a criminal....disgusting service!!!

What a scam

What a scam! So they make you pay upfront before you even get your documents signed and if you struggle to get them signed like I have as my son's teacher is ill they won't give you a refund! I paid 30 pound for the fast track about 3 weeks ago it was ment to take 2 days!! Still fighting them about the refund!!

Avoid this company - They will steal your money

Avoid this company.

I applied for a card and paid extra for it to be fast tracked. The automated system accepted all my documentation then placed my order on hold. It sat on hold for 24 hours before I was contacted and, when I was contacted, they asked for documentation I didn't have. I told them this, waited another day and was asked the same question again.

I asked for a refund as I'd paid for the urgent delivery and the delays had been caused by their slow responses and the fact that they ignored what I actually wrote in my Emails and sent generic responses (I'm guessing to "meet" their defined SLAs).

They have denied me a refund despite not delivering what I paid for and have essentially stolen my money.

Shambolic service

Shambolic service. Money taken upfront.
Verification process is awkward.
Verification via passport finally accepted, but no card delivered. No email communications, but after waiting, logged in to the site to discover that we had to start the process again!
No explanation and no apology.
Gave up and requested refund but met with hard nosed commercial attitude and denied.
Don’t be fooled by their charity status, not for profit just means there’s no profit left after they have paid themselves handsomely for a poor service.
Subsequently learning that many venues don’t even recognise the card!
Avoid.

Absolute shambles

Absolute shambles - took money very quickly applied had my social worker as a referree - denied
Passport photo denied even though same photo was used on HMRC no issues claimed it wasnt a neutral background it was a PhotoMe Booth - Background was white
Paid for express three days later still in process now they cant verify my (expired passport) with a picture of me on their system
The only reason I am getting this ID is because i dont have any and i really thought it would be a quicker process
