Avoid …

I Asked for an appointment to tighten my implants months ago. And only because I chased and moaned did I hear back… the attitude I got back was.. that dentist has gone, youre welcome to go to his new clinic if you want.. aka go away.. I find that shocking..

So I will go elsewhere… and spend my money at a dentist that values and cares for clients

Please think twice about where are you Spend your money..

Feel so for any dentist that sold their practice to this lot, seeing their hard work ruined.

Poor admin staff performance

I'm a patient of 40+ years most of them with John Hewitt until his untimely demise.
Reception staff no longer appear able to process answers to their questions.
I booked two of us in; I was told I had arrived way too early for my appointment! I asked who (of the two of us) was in the chair first. It took several more attempts for her to check my partner in. She was genuinely confused but passed her poor attention skills off with another "perfect".

Repeatedly being told mistakes are "perfect" is not confidence building. The admin team who ran the practice at 20 St Anns Square were experienced, patient, able and professionally friendly. None of these skills is evident in the current front of house team, and management, it matters.
Immediately I joined my partner, who was settling our accounts, I was told to move away from him. Barking instructions to patients is not clever; demonstrating intuitive thinking and patience is.
Finally we were asked to complete data protection forms to allow us to change each other's future appointments. We asked her to repeat the question to us more than once before we could understand the simple request. My partner's patience was running thin by this time so we declined but took the forms home for completion with "...just ignore that part ... it shouldn't be there...".

Management:
1. Why was there no patient access to drinking water?
One of us travels from the South East! Is it so difficult to imagine patients might want to freshen their mouths prior to oral examination?
2. Dial down the radio volume - you're out there with B&Q.
3. Front of house staff training?

Oh dear where do I start......

Oh dear where do I start......

I was a patient of another dentist before this practice merged with City Centre Dentist. I had no issues over the 15 years I was a patient there. Then it merged and the service has been nothing but appalling. Cancelled appointments, and last minute, when I have taken both time to travel and time off work to turn up at the reception and told that the appointment is either cancelled or on a complete different date ( even though I have their written appointment card with the date I turned up). You cant get through when calling, they don't call back even with numerous messages left. No emergency cover, yet prices are extremely high. Premises are shocking for what you pay for and the service non existing. I will not be spending a penny more with them. When I wrote a letter of complaint I got a standard response which did not address a single point that I had raised. It looked like an AI generated response. Dont bother signing up with them.

DON'T BOTHER

What a disgrace this dental practice is. Admin staff, including managers is appalling in fact laughable!
I was a client of John Hewitt's for eight years including five other members of my family. Everything was first class until John's untimely death, my issue was an agreement with John which equates to several hundred pounds which the clinic now disputes, basically calling me a liar. I have tried to resolve this informally with useless and incompetent staff and head office is just as bad, I am going round in circles.
So, this is a warning to future patients. Don't bother look elsewhere!

City Centre Dental & Implant Clinic

Dobkin Jacob & Wander location in St Ann’s Square was Excelent, however the company sold to City Centre Dental & Implant clinic and moved to Booth Street Manchester. This practice has declined in service to their patients and I have been treated badly. My NHS dentist resigned from the practice and I was in formed in December 2023 that I no longer have a dentist. I have mailed on several occasions and also complained to the Practice Manager by email to establish what steps are being taken to correct this issue. I never received a reply after confirming my mail had been read. The reception team I managed to mail and I have been informed to register as a private patient. The practice does have another dentist that has registered NHS patients but I was informed I would not be transferred. I have been a patient for 30 years at Dobkin Jacob & Wander and I always had great service. Not at City Centre Dental & Implant Clinic.
If you make an appointment with the hygienist for 30 mins I was also finding you are collected 10 minutes late and the clean finishes on time which means that you pay for 30 minutes and only receive 20 minutes which is a private hygienist and at £80 for 30 minutes is very expensive especially when you do not receive your allocated time. Very bad customer service and I am left without a dentist. I am unable to recommend this practice.
