The sofas are super comfy and we literally had no trouble. There was a 10% discount that happened after we bought it and the customer service staff that we were communicating with gave us that as a refund so we were able to enjoy the discount. Delivery was really smooth. We get so many compliments on these! Know the quality is really up there as when we go to other stores and give them a try it’s really noticeable, not as sturdy, and rock hard.
Took my money but no sofa
I purchased a sofa and an ottoman from this company and it turned out to be too big to be deliverable to my flat so the delivery team took it back. Instead of being refunded or asked to exchange for another sofa, this company just took a thousand pounds from me and never responded to my calls or emails. The order was placed around November 2022.

Total scammers. Ordered a sofa 6 months ago, never received it. Tried to cancel the order and they disappeared on us. Website gone as well. Processed a chargeback via our bank and they had the cheek to contest it, so now we’re in an ongoing dispute with no guarantee of getting our £1000 back. Horrible people.

Do not order from these crooks! We ordered a sofa in October 2023, with the delivery to be held until we had received a swatch to confirm if we liked the colour. A month or so later we received the swatch and decided to cancel the order, which they had said we would be able to do. Emailed to cancel the order on 14th December, haven’t heard anything from them since, despite numerous emails and calls. We’ve paid them £999 and have nothing to show for it!
Cannot get in contact
Ordered a two seater Scott sofa from City Sofa in 2022 and asked to delay delivery as our house renovation was significantly delayed.
Last had contact on their live chat (through shopify) on 15th August 2023 and confirmed that they were still holding our order.
I have tried to get in contact in 2024 and have had no response by phone or e-mail, their website is also disabled.
We cannot afford to let £800 just disappear and are finding it difficult to arrange delivery of goods that we've paid for or recover our money.

Update, Still no contact from City Sofa despite endless emails letters, phone calls etc. They no longer have a live website however they also trade on eBay as sofa deals direct. Avoid both at all costs and any other company ran by the directors, such as furniture innovations, and S & R trading limited. They simply take your money, and start up under a new company selling the same items whilst still trading form 1a Lloyds Court, Cleveland Street, Darlington, England, DL1 2NY.

One good sofa, one bad chair, no communication
Having ordered our Scott Sofa and armchair on 29/10/23 we were sceptical and a little nervous around buying a sofa online without a physical company we could go to if it went wrong.
We placed the order and received nothing bar an automated email for a few weeks prompting me to email the company and try calling and leaving voicemails (the phone has never been answered when I've called) to get an estimated delivery date. After a couple of weeks of trying I finally got a response on the online chat with a "it will be delivered by" estimate of the end of November. November came and went with no updates causing more flurries of attempted and unresponsive contact.
We had two more allocated dates/weeks provided via the online chat and the sofa was finally delivered on the 20th of December.
The sofa looks lovely and is perfect currently, unfortunately the chair has a defect and as such wobbles on the legs and I suspect the frame is either slightly warped or just not put together square.
Again, unfortunately we have had no response to 2 emails, near daily attempts at the online chat and calls including a few voicemails.
We want this chair repaired/exchanged but without getting through to a member of the team this doesn't look like it will be easy to do.
Incredibly poor service and communication
Incredibly poor service. Delivered the wrong sofa, which was also damaged. The delivery men tried to charge a £40 (cash only) fitting fee, and then once we've tried to bring this to their attention, they don't answer phones, nor emails within the 24 hours they say they will. Did speak to one gentlemen on the phone and almost a week later, are yet to respond further despite saying they would by end of day. After disposing of old sofa and now having one that doesn't fit in the room properly, we are left with no seating arrangements leading up to Christmas. We are still waiting for a reply for them to sort this issue out. Would not recommend this business.
Sofa delivered...
Sofa delivered after 10 weeks of phone and email comms unanswered. Requested refund, reported to bank but yesterday sofa arrived. Came up the stairs. Glad they came up with the goods but would not recommend Citysofa.
Scams, Even one start is a lot for you
Even one start is a lot for you. This is a scam company. They don’t deliver the sofa they don’t communicate they just take the money and that’s it have tried to contact them many times regarding my order 3506, they don’t answer the phone and they don’t respond to emails, communications skills beyond poor. My initial order made on 23/09/2023 then order was delivered after 12 midnight on 24/10/2023, then I have requested the other side to be send to me ( left side grass green) . I have received confirmation from kate that the new side will be send to me within 2 wks after collecting the wrong sided sofa/ sofa was collected on 27/10/2023. I have waited many weeks, tried many times to get hold of them over phone or emails but no answer. I don’t understand where are we with the new sofa as the delivery. They are not responding to emails or calls so I will have called the financial embodiment to complain about your service which I think lacks honestly or any sort of communications also I have contact PayPal to ask about my money back as I need to purchase a new sofa, I wasted over 2 gmonths with this order. You really need to look into ways to improve your communications skills
Received a sofa in the wrong colour and…
Received a sofa in the wrong colour and it was defective. A huge bow across the middle which made it like a see-saw. On this basis I did not accept delivery and the delivery driver took it back. Since then total radio silence from the company - despite emails and phone calls to arrange a refund......starting to get worried I may never see my refund again.
When I paid for the sofa
When I paid for the sofa, they said it would be delivered within 4 weeks. 6 weeks later we still have no sofa and can not get a reply to emails or the live chat. I’m really quite worried that I have lost the best part of a thousand pounds.

Dodgy sofa and even more dodgy service
I purchased a sofa from these guys a few weeks ago. It was delivered unexpectedly at 9.30pm, the day before it was supposed to, which I thought was a little odd but the guys were nice and initially, all seemed well. However, once received the quality was not as expected, FYI - this is not of the same quality as the MADE Scott sofa. I contacted City Sofa straight away to request a return and it has been nigh on impossible to get a hold of anyone since, and they never respond. I have sent 8 emails (to two different email addresses) and left 8 messages on their answer phone over 8 days - and nothing. I managed to get a man on the phone one week ago, who said he would arrange a pickup, but I've heard nothing since. If this had been a relationship I'd have taken the hint by now. But it all seems a bit dubious. They have no social media, nor is there a company called CitySofa registered with Companies House. Although they do have an eBay shop where they use a different business name (S and R Trading). I'm envious of all these positive reviews, I hope they are true and not just paid for, although many of them do comment on their terrible customer service. I currently have a dodgy sofa that I'm caring for like one of my children, so it's in perfect nick to go back to them. And they have my money! Maybe as a company, they are in financial difficulty, that would be a shame, it's a difficult time for us all. But as they refuse to reply to my many attempts to speak to them I don't know. It all seems just a little suspicious. Either way, I would highly recommend staying well clear of them.
