"Domestic" not professional...would not recommend

I paid for Cleaning Day Ltd to conduct an end of tenancy cleaning service on a minimal 1 bedroom flat. The standard was no where near good enough for my tenancy agreement. The inventory clerk noted that almost every area required further cleaning, and they quoted the cleaning level to be "domestic" and not professional. I requested a full/partial refund and was offered £10 - after paying £144, this offer was simply insulting. I am now being charged again for the extra cleaning from my agency. I would not recommend this cleaning service. It has given me a headache and I am now paying £100s for cleaning on a small 1 bedroom flat!

Lying Customer Service Team Agent

Lying Customer Service Team Agent
An 'End of Tenancy' Cleaning Package was booked with Zoey with particular regard to our requirement for removal & recycling the content of a cupboard. The Web site shows from £94.00 for a One Bed Flat for this service. However, after on the telephone we were told that the figure was £139.00 we did accept the increased figure due to the additional request to remove junk from the cupboard. On the morning the Customer Service Team denied that they can actually remove and recycle in spite of the invoice confirming otherwise. The team arrived around one hour late. We were informed that the cancellation would incur a 30% charge and the story then changed that they did not have the remit to remove any rubbish. So very disappointed in this company and their lack of honesty. They just want to take your money and then everything is finished.

Complete and utter waste of money

Complete and utter waste of money

Organised for this pitiful excuse of a cleaning company to do an end of tenancy clean. Upon receipt of our check-out inventory the report noted that the house was still very dusty, various areas of the common parts needed further cleaning and the kitchen had barely been touched.

Whilst they appear good value we had to pay for an extra clean
and ruined the relationship that we had built up with the landlord over the term of the tenancy.

Like many other reviews on this website they tried to increase their price the day they came, threatening to not show up we didn’t pay.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE!

No words for how bad these guys are

Terrible experience! Really believe me when I say that these guys will not do the job and will take your money regardless - they will also try to increase their price the day they are supposed to come, threatening to not show up if you don’t pay.

My landlord ended up charging me for the cleaning of the house - which means I payed twice as these guys never refunded me and were terrible to deal with.

Avoid at all costs!

SHOCKING SERVICE

We used Cleaning Day for an end of tenancy clean in June 2019.

The check out report made it clear that it was no where near the standard that it should have been and, as a result, we were required to pay for the flat to be cleaned again (by another company) and at a significant cost.

When we let Cleaning Day know about the situation, we suggested the 48 hour guarantee, which they conveniently confirmed that this didn’t apply, despite the inspection taking place within the allowed time period. They instead offered us an additional service at a ‘preferential price’. Quite insulting.......

Avoid this company - poor product and shocking customer service.

Terrible cleaning service

Terrible cleaning service. We booked cleaning day for an end of tenancy checkout. The check-out report made it clear that it was nowhere near the standard of a ‘professional clean’ and meant that we had to pay an additional £200 to get it re-cleaned. When I queried the 48 guarantee (the flat was inspected within this time) they explained that it was not valid and that they could not assist. The customer service is terrible l, which made the experience even worse.

Do not use this company, total cowboys.

Thanks but no thanks.

I had these guys for an end of tenancy clean. I have given them 3 stars, purely as the general over all cleaning of the flat was pretty good. HOWEVER, I didn't like dealing with them at all, and frankly wouldn't use them again.

EVERY email I sent them had a different person replying to me, and I often had to reiterate what I had said at least twice, as it seemed they simply hadn't read them properly. Needless to say, they still got something wrong. My emphatic request to CLEAN the one set of blinds in the flat (basement and roadside, so dirty) - and not simply dust them over had been overlooked and they were just dusted over, and what made it even more infuriating was that when I contested it, they kept saying it was booked as a dust/wipe-over and not a thorough clean. Even when I sent email evidence of my asking for a more thorough clean, not once did they acknowledge they misunderstood or got it wrong, and not once did they apologise for their error.

After having to send in photos (after I'd moved out!) to prove the blinds were still dirty, and further contesting/proving what I'd actually asked for, they did eventually agree to refund the £10 extra they had apparently charged to wipe over the blinds, but the whole thing caused me and my landlord grief, so I'm sorry, but I won't be back.

EXTREMELY POOR End of Tenancy Cleaning.

Ordered an end of tenancy cleaning, and I must say that never before I was disappointed in any service more, than in the one from Cleaning Day. Cleaners could not find the key that was left for them in the same building at the concierge, and started cleaning not 20 minutes later than planned, but 1,5h(!!!) later. I came to give them money before they finished cleaning, as I obviously had to go to work and was sure that the flat will be ready for the check out process. 5 days after, when we received the checkout report, we contacted the company immediately in order to receive a refund, as: candle leftovers were not cleaned, bathroom floor was all in the dirt marks, oven was dirty from the inside, duvet and pillows were thrown on the bed and many many more marks on the bathroom and kitchen area!! Flat was never in the horrible condition, so if the cleaning was done properly and cleaners at least arrived on time, then it would be all more than possible to clean. I would provide photos here, if I could. When we provided those photos to the Cleaning Day, we were told that the guarantee policy is 48h when the check out report is normally sent a little later, in 5 days like in our case, so the company said that no refund will be provided. We strongly believe, that if you provide THIS POOR SERVICE, YOUR GUARANTEE SHOULD NOT BE BASED ON HOURS. HORRIBLE!

DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE - I was out of pocket due to how poor the clean was. I had to pay for the clean twice as it was taken out of my damage deposit. They don't offer any refunds or anything just say not our problem. Awful service. Wish I paid slightly more for a reputable company.

Tried their best but not great

Booked an in-depth clear prior to putting our house on the market. They did their best and the house was certainly cleaner with a nice job done on the windows. However, they didn't do the bathrooms properly (especially around the loos which is one of the reasons for booking professional cleaning) and I thought I was getting my landing/stair carpet 'steam cleaned'. Their equipment was pretty poor and we had to remove stains with our hand-held steam cleaner after they left. The team were friendly and polite but the clean wasn't as 'in-depth' as I was expecting.

Absolutely dodgy company.

Absolutely dodgy company.

Emailed for a quote after looking at the 'prices' on their website and was quoted £100 more than the website for a simple end of tenancy job with one room's carpet steam cleaned. (I have a standard 1 bed flat so I have no idea how this was higher than the 'from' price listed)

After asking for a breakdown I was told that the prices on the website are 'from' and do not include their cleaning materials (!) or the 48 hour guarantee.

I also questioned why the quote did not include the "up to 20% off for booking an end of tenancy clean and a carpet steam clean" Surprise surprise I never got an answer.

Suffice to say I didn't use them.

AVOID.

.......UPDATE.......

I received a call from someone at Cleaning Day today essentially wanting to run me through how their charges were structured again and insisting that the prices are listed as 'from' on the website (which apparently makes everything ok).

I asked what the purpose of the call was and was told that "we don't think it's fair for you to review us on trustpilot when you haven't used the service"

So for clarity I NEVER USED THIS SERVICE BECAUSE THEIR PRICING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL.

When I told them I wouldn't be removing the review as I thought it was fair to review a company based on interactions with customers and that my review made it clear that I hadn't used the service I was told "it's not fair to leave a bad review because our prices were out of your budget". So rude.

I actually ended up booking with a different company that cost roughly the same but were wholly transparent and a pleasure to deal with. This company could learn a lot from them, it's not always about money. Paying a lot for SEO to appear at the top of searches and then being misleading with your prices and underhand when asked for clarity just doesn't cut the mustard.

Says a lot about a company when they try to pressure people into changing their review. As an afterthought I was offered 10% discount if I ever wanted to book with them...not likely!

I wouldn't have minded if the call was from the position of trying to find out what went wrong and taking on feedback to try and make things better but this was a transparent attempt to try and make me change this review. So well done, I have changed it. It's now even clearer that this is a company with a terrible ethos that I would still advise everyone to avoid.

Also, as an FYI for whoever from Cleaning Day reads this:

Taken from the Trustpilot FAQ for "who can write reviews"

"You can show that you used the services - you haven't bought or ordered anything, but you can otherwise document your use of the business or company's services. This might be by showing correspondence with the company or documenting some other interaction."

Appaling service

Appaling service. Booked for a post builder clean and luckily did not pay up front as they requested as I wanted to check their work. I came back after I was told they had finished.

The place was filthy still. Dust on bathroom tiles, dirty skirting boards, dirty window frames, fridge dirty, oven dirty the list was endless. When I was on the phone to the company one of the workers started arguing with me that he had cleaned stuff that clearly had not been done which i found very intimidating especially as my 6 year old son was with me.

When i called them they said that I should tell the workers what needed to be done however if I had time to list everything individually I would have taken my mum and just done it myself. I expected a professional service from people who knew what they were doing. I would have done a far better job and saved myself a lot of money as i still ended up stupidly paying over £100 before then finding loads more stuff that had not been done.

I would advise anyone to not use them. Awful service and definitely not worth even half what they would charge.

Steam clean of sofas was less satisfactory, water marks were showing on top of armrests after clean and also yellow dirt wasn't removed. I complained and they returned next day and got watermarks out, but still yellow stains on armrests which should have been removed in round one

Do not use this company.

Do not use this company.
We chose to hire cleaning day for our end of tenancy checkout because of their 'deposit guarantee' scheme. We set the cleaning date a few days before our end of tenancy date.

They were 45mins late, and were in the flat for around 3-4hrs. My landlord inspected the flat herself afterwards and sent a long list of areas which were not cleaned properly along with photo evidence. I sent this to cleaning day, and they tried to organise a re-clean with me. Having already given the keys to the landlord this put me in a difficult situation. Both myself and the landlord work full time and we were not available to be in for another re-clean at the times convenient for cleaning day.

It ended up with myself and the landlord doing the cleaning ourselves in a mad rush before the new tenants arrived.

I took this up with Cleaning Day who said they had done their best to arrange a re-clean so they would not be giving me a refund. I informed their complaints department that it's not fair on me to have to drop everything for a re-clean when they should have done it correctly in the first place. As a 'goodwill' gesture I was offered a £10 refund.

In this case I was extremely lucky that a full check out was not performed and I didn't have to pay out for another professional clean.

None the less, I felt that I had been cheated so I contacted them to request a partial refund since they only did a partial job. After multiple emails and a long heated phone conversation I was then offered a £20 refund and a complimentary clean for my new house. I found this utterly insulting.

Steer clear! I wish I had read trustpilot before using them.

Deceitful and rude company

This "cleaning" company is an absolute disgrace. Never in my life have I dealt with such rude, condescending, deceitful and incompetent human beings. The cleaners were 3 hours late, had next to no equipment, demanded immediate cash payment (despite having paid by card already) and then did absolutely nothing. When we arrived at the flat the next day (i.e. the last day of our tenancy), we were horrified; not a shred a cleaning day been done.

I called immediately to file a complaint, and followed up with photographic evidence via email. I informed them that the clean must be done that day as we would no longer have access to the property. I was told that they will ensure that this is done. After waiting hours and nearing the end of the day, after a few more frantic calls, I am forced to contact my estate agent to ask for an extra day to keep the keys, which they (very kindly) permitted). I informed Cleaning Day immediately that the clean could now be done on Sunday but no later. They did not contact me again until late afternoon on Sunday to inform me that the re-clean was scheduled for Monday at 12:00.

I said this would not be possible and requested a refund. They completely refused and made me feel as if it was my fault that they could not do the clean and that my estate agent legally "had to let them in". I asked which part of the law states that they are obligated to give them access so I could make them aware (obviously it's not the law) and 'Jeremy' was incredibly condescending saying that he wasn't going to look through UK law to tell me. I asked if he would get his legal team on the case and he insisted he would in the most sarcastic manner. I genuinely have never felt so insulted as a customer.

We were (of course) charged by our estate agent for not cleaning the property, and received no refund from cleaning day to cover these costs despite having what must have been 30 phone conversations with them. They eventually offered a £20 "goodwill" gesture from our £159 payment which felt more like a slap in the face. So instead we slapped harder by doing a chargeback through our bank.

I urge anybody who have been lambasted by this awful company to follow suit and do a chargeback too. You have 120 days from the date of purchase (I believe). Just Google "chargeback" or contact your bank!

If it were possible, it would be zero stars for Cleaning Day and -100 for Jeremy for his perpetually rude and condescending manner.

not great to say the least

initial contact by email was ok. then was charged an additional 20£ because my lift was out of service .. fair enough. Good to know also that the team was very fast to let me know that.
However when I noticed that they was an issue with a curtain trail which was taken off the ceiling most likely due to the hoovering without paying attention it was of course not their fault. For the record I had shown at the start that one of them was faulty, I am speaking of the other one which was in a perfect state. An advise : stay with the team, and make sure everything is done as the cleaning was average, and what was supposed to be end of tenancy such as ventilation was not done . Good thing also I told them I did the windows myself as without a ladder that they did not have I do not see how they would have fulfilled their work. In summary i recommend you look at other quotes ...

Pathetic cleaning service. Never use.

I hired Cleaning Day to perform end of tenancy service cleaning for my 2 bedroom flat in south east London in Oct 2018. When booking, they made a million promises about their professional cleaners and the level of cleaning, etc. However, the output of the cleaning was simply terrible.

When I visited the flat just minutes after their cleaners left, I was shocked at the poor cleaning performed. There were very basic areas which they not even touched. There was lot of grease and grime left untouched on the shower screen (which was coming off when i scraped with my fingers!!). There was very visible dirt on the outside of the fridge that was not cleaned. No vacuum was done under the kitchen cabinets which had a lot of dust. There was a ton of dust on the kitchen window panes (very much accessible from inside) which was not hoovered. Exhaust fan was untouched, though I was specifically told them booking that it will be cleaned. Finally, they left lot of white spots on the bathroom with their cleaning agents which was not there earlier. So they ended up messing the flat than cleaning it.

I immediately contacted the company and sent them pictures of what I saw, and told them to send their team immediately for re-clean. However, I was told the team was not available. They said I should wait for my landlord's check out report so that we have a complete list of items to be re-cleaned. But my point was - why do I even need to wait for my LL to point out the issues when I can myself see there are 10 things which was not cleaned. I could have done a much better job if I did it myself rather hire this so-called professional company.

My landlord was not keen to allow them for a re-clean (and she is NOT obligated as well, in her defense), and she eventually ended up charging me £50 for the poor cleaning, in addition to the £159 that I paid these guys.

Terrible experience. Will never use or recommend them.
