I hate clear!!! You still have to show ID after scanning your pupil, so it's completely useless unless you are a felon and FBI rejected your TSA precheck application, they also were charging my card a... See more

Deception at the airport
I was ushered through their line at a recent airport visit and it wasn't clear what was actually happening until well into the screening process. Since it was TSA who directed me into their line, I thought it was just an alternate screening procedure that TSA was working out. In fact, it is a paid service that allows you to expedite your trip through security. I rarely travel and this type of service is absolutely of no interest to me. I had no option to decline this "trial" and was not told that I would be enrolled in an auto-renew plan and that my card would be charged. In fact, exactly the opposite. I was told that my trial would only last 2 weeks and I would be charged nothing. If they had been transparent at the start and asked me if I wanted to start a trial of their service, I would have definitely declined and opted to wait in the regular screening line. I did not want to provide a photo, email address, credit card, or other data, but this choice was not given to me as the Clear agent was just clicking through information on the screen without allowing me to process what was happening. I'm very upset about the lack of clarity and transparency from both this company and the TSA staff at the airport, since I feel that TSA has no right to direct me to a private company's line without informing me of what I'd be made to commit to. I am currently awaiting a refund, but I have no trust in this company and feel like they use deceptive practices to garner business and take advantage of travelers.
CLEAR IS A SCAM.
CLEAR IS A SCAM. they charged my card 199 without knowledge or consent. impossible to reach them not on phone and not of the chat.
Took 40 minutes at ATL and regular TSA…
Took 40 minutes at ATL and regular TSA pre was 10.
Do better!
Very poor service
Very poor service. Clear promotion was not helpful. Canceled service after MDW departure check did not verify but DFW departure was ok this is upsetting seeing I had to wait and almost missed my flight due to computer error! 7-13-25 MDW poor!
Definitely not worth the cost
Definitely not worth the cost. I was a fool and thought my AmEx card included free membership. It didn't. Wrong kind of AmEx. The evil billing practices of Clear is they charge you when you set your account online. If you're an organized person, you might do this when you purchase tickets for a flight months in advance. But you can't activate your account until you go in person to the airport, likely when you fly. So if you PAY months in advance the ridiculous annual fee of $199 a year, you lose all those months you never even used it. It would make more ethical sense to charge when activated, but no, it's when you register online initially. I kept looking for an AmEx reimbursement but didn't call for a few months. My bad because you only have 60 days from registration date to cancel Clear membership for reimbursement regardless of activation. The only thing they could do was offer me $80 off the ridiculous fee for the next year. I'll pass. I don't even travel that often. My husband has the TSA precheck bc of work so figured I'd be able to get through TSA quickly too with this on the few times a year I fly with him. Unbelievable I'm out $199. AmEx did nothing and Clear can't help me. Can't wait to cancel this. Oh, and getting through the line was not efficient. They had so many staff who didn't know what they were doing, like 3 people to one job. One guy wanted to confirm my age of like 80 and I was like, um, no (I'm 51), look again. He had the wrong person pulled up. It didn't feel organized at all.
NOoo
Please note the following: This is not an active website. PERIOD. There are multiple issues with this "website". Be careful or don't/
Don’t signup!
I felt I was rushed in the whole business of getting through the security line fast! At the end of the process they ask to insert the credit card.. felt like so stupid as to why was I expecting it to be a free service!
I would rather go get Global entry. I cancelled my membership an hour after I signed up! Stay clear of Clearme!
Fraudulent email linked to my Clear account, can’t access, still being billed, no help
Clear has allowed a fraudulent email (dxf***d@icloud com) to take over my account—an account still linked to my real phone number and credit card. Because of this unauthorized email, I cannot access or use my Clear account at all.
Despite this, Clear continues to attempt to bill my credit card—and somehow managed to obtain my new card number, which I never provided them—for a service I do not want, cannot use, and never agreed to under this fraudulent email.
I have tried repeatedly to contact Clear’s customer support by phone and email. They do respond by email—but only with copy‑and‑paste answers that completely ignore the specifics of my situation. It feels as if they haven’t actually read anything I’ve said. This has left me stuck with an inaccessible account, linked to a fraudulent email, and ongoing unwanted charges—with no real resolution or help.
Clear’s handling of personal data, account security, and customer service is absolutely unacceptable—especially for a service that collects sensitive biometric and identity information.
I do not want Clear, I do not want to be billed, and I urgently want this fraudulent email removed so my real account can be secured or canceled.
I strongly advise anyone thinking about using Clear: if something goes wrong, you may find yourself completely on your own.
Would not recommend
At MCO, which very long security lines, the clear line took three times as long as the pre check line and all the clear employees were emotionless and seemed to not care about how long it was taking. TSA employees were more friendly which is saying a lot.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. I renewed my US passport and simply wanted to update the info with CLEAR. For over an hour and a half all I could get was an ad to upgrade to CLEAR+. I was on chat with CS and they simply stalled and said "their' app was working and mine should be, too. Their solution? I was to drive 300-500 miles to a location that had a CLEAR "Ambassador" to help me. I was told it would take 24-48 hours for a manager to talk to me...and they would only be giving me the same, useless information.
I told them all they were doing was trying to squeeze me into upgrading to CLEAR+. In a few seconds later chat support typed "Try Now".
Miracles of miracles the Add Passport button appeared on the app and I was able to add it.
Never, never again.....terrible customer service. :-(
Worst experience ever!
I've had one of the worst online experience with clear. I tried to verify my linkedin but they said that it is unverifiable because of the carrier I use. On top of that, they were rude and cut me off prematurely. I don't know who handles their customer service, but to say they are sloppy and rude is an understatement. Stay away from them if you can. I don't know why Linkedin forces people to use their services. Doesn't reflect well on Linkedin at all.
Terrible wait times
On hold for over 45 minutes, to speak to someone, there number for help with clear TSA, says no one is available and hangs up on you,,not renewing my clear !
The absolute worst
The absolute worst, or I should say nonexistent customer service. This service doesn't even work at the airport. Waste of money and time.
My partner was charged a yearly fee…
My partner was charged a yearly fee after I cancelled our family membership. Mistakes happen, but they do not answer their customer help line 855-253-2763. I have been on hold for 45mins. The chat line is no better.
Clear misdirects time to arrive
Clear directed me to arrive at a small airport 2 hours before my early morning flight. The security lane didn’t open until 1/4 hour after Clear directed time. The ticket counter didn’t open for luggage until 1/2 hour after my Clear directed time. There was no Clear at this airport.
If there had been no guidance from clear, my friends advice was to wait another 1hour.
NONEXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Lost access to account, support is non existant.
Lost access to account. spent hours trying to get support. Sends you to verify account which fails, then they sent you to an agent that never connects.
No more Clear for us
I paid $300 for the year for 2. I wanted to avoid the security line flying out of CLT and there IS no Clear here. Online it says that there is Clear in ALL airports. No more Clear for us!
My husband was traveling through…
My husband was traveling through chicago on business pulled aside and offered this service, while going through tsa. this company is a scam, they lied to him, and charged his card 199 without knowledge or consent. i decided to look into trust pilot and see what others had to say about clearme, sorry to read so many have been scammed by these people! my question is why do the airports let these crooks walk around, and get over on people?
Clear is an increasingly useless…
Clear is an increasingly useless service. And it is clearly the least efficient operation at the airport. 7 to 10 kiosks, two employees, and a long line of passengers waiting to get through kiosks. This, because customers can't serve themselves.
Clear procedures are inconsistent - - different at every airport. At some airports that you're walked to the front of the security line. At other airports your deposited at the end of the X-ray conveyor line behind all the non clear customers.
ID check three times. Non-clear passengers with TSA precheck get in line and show their ID to tsa, then they passed through security. Clear passengers must have their boarding pass scanned before entering the security line, again at the clear kiosk, then more than 75% of the time again by the TSA agent.
Clear does not expedite your airport experience at least 65% of the time. And at least 30% of the time, clear increases your time at security. I've recently been traveling with a partner who does not have clear or TSA precheck. At least three out of 10 times he gets to the gate before i.
