This Company should be put out of…

This Company should be put out of business. I renewed at .13 in Dec./25 for 6 months and in Jan./26, they doubled the rate without notifying me. I called and the person I spoke to said I did not renew and that I was on a variable rate. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he wouldn't let me. I filed a complaint with Ma. DPE and they helped get me a small refund but Clearview maintained I did not renew. Very sleezy organization.

Stay away. Pricing is deceptive.

Company provides a competitive initial rate, but then rate jacks up. Even when they notify you, and you call, they still don't cancel. Then even when I canceled according to their rules, they charged me a termination fee which I eventually had waived. Stay away.

Same story as everyone else

Same story as everyone. Had a one year contract, never received the statutory advance notice… actually got a postcard delivered on 5/16 that was dated 4/19. Rate doubled and tacked on a $6.99 monthly fee. Stick to your electricity company’s standard offer. These companies will get most people in the end.

Did not give me my 30 day and 60 day notice as required by thier own contract and before end of contract . My power distributor PECO had a 4 month billing halt to due internal issues-12-15,000 customers affected..so i was unable to see my contract went from .079/kwh to over .23/kwh.. in three months due to a variable rate structure.. that is highway robbery in my book..”variable to what” thats an insane change in rate structures..my bill went from $510 to $1800 to almost $2800 combined .. i had to go on a payment plan through PECO Energy and neither Clearview nor PECO Energy Exelon would do anything about it..i will remember this for a long time.. dont get scammed pay attention

great at scamming their customers

great at scamming their customers. they gave me no heads up about my plan expiring and increased my delivery charges by $300 a month without any notice. how is this even legal? I called and switched back to my original plan the day my bill was delivered and I realized, but it takes 1 month for the plan to go into action so I have to pay 2 months with an extra $300 on my bills. that’s an extra $600 they’ll get out of me. complete scam. these types of practices are deceitful and should be illegal.

ITS A SCAM - DON'T SIGN UP

I changed to clear view at end of December and my bills doubled due to delivery charges . The usage of electricity also doubled which doesn't make any sense as my habits of electric usage didn't change. National grid will not even come and change the meter after multiple request . I just cancelled Clearview services and will wait to see if the bills change as well . Its a scam . Please don't sign up for Clearview.

OUTRAGEOUS Company

I received my electric bill and it was higher than usual. I look and see Clearview as my new electric supplier. I call the company and they said I signed up online. Completely false I did not. I already had a low rate with somebody else I was happy with. I called Clearview to cancel, I asked if there was a cancellation fee and Oscar said yes 150.00! This is so unfair!

Do not use

In January of 2024, Clearview sent me a bill of $1,702.26. During my first year with them, my rate was at 0.1079; reasonable and affordable. After my first year, they put me on an adjusted rate that skyrocketed by more than double my first year rate resulting in the drastic increase of my bill. My bill went from $124-$156 per month to $1,702.26 per month. As a small business owner, I do not have the ability or funds to pay for it. I called Clearview to see my options of whether my bill could be lowered or for help with the bill but they refused to help me. Every time I called, they said a supervisor or manager was not available and was in a meeting. Do not use Clearview energy because they do not care about their customers and will not attempt to help you with your needs. Clearview electric has been nothing but a pain and I will not return to their services. I am just letting people know not to use clear services.

Clearview Energy is SmartEnergy Here it the pricing section of their contract.

Helped me save money on my bill

I was able to save quite a bit over the price to compare from my utility in Pennsylvania. De-regulation is a good thing as long as you keep up on the best deals out there. Clearview made it easy to switch and the customer service agent was very helpful.

Clearview Energy run a predatory…

Clearview Energy run a predatory operation. Once your initial rate is over, they make no attempt to contact you to let you know they will jack your bills up 2-3x the initial rate. Their rate schedule is deceptive - they show rates differently on the website than they show them once you sign up and it's hard to know if you are comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges. They should be shut down by the PUC. TERRIBLE!

No transparency over standard rates after promo period

I was interested in signing up for Clearview as they had a special rate for the 1st year which included EV charging at night for free. Based on reviews it sounds like the rate ramps up after the 1st year. I called them to simply ask what the rate would be today IF i had just finished my 1 year contract. They said "I don't know. I can't tell you". This lack of transparency is exactly what other reviews imply and I'm just glad I did some research before signing up with them.

Clearview Energy is a criminal organization. The consumer protection agency should shut this company down. I was being charged 4x the normal rate per KWh. They told me they sent letters but that is a lie. NEVER sign up with these evil petty thieves!!

I beg of you NOT to use this service.

I beg of you NOT to use this service.
A couple years ago, we went to Clearview thinking that getting a more "green" energy source was just the right thing to do. We knew that we may be paying a bit more, but didn't realize what that meant.
Our annual 'contract' was fine, only a couple cents higher per Kwh than comed. Again, for the green energy source, that was okay to us.
However, after our fixed contract was up, we went to the variable rate. Okay, no big deal, right. ComEd is also variable rate, so it'll be a couple cents higher.
HOWEVER, they count on you not knowing the ComEd variable rate. Our electric bills started getting higher and higher and suddenly popped to a crazy level after the last couple months. I don't even want to go back as I just assumed it was similar and others were having this same issue. But NOPE. ComEd variable rate right now is .068 give or take. 6-7 cents. My last bill. .285 cents. Yep almost 29 cents. That variable rate is 4X higher than ComEd. Not 4 cents. 4 times higher!
Of course there is no obvious notification of such things. When I called, they offered a new annual plan that was only 2 cents higher. My question, how are you able to offer that and yet charge me 28 cents happily? Just don't do it when it comes to signing up for this service.
