UPDATE: So, after endless phone calls from 7th to 10th April inclusive, I was eventually issued with a claim reference number to go ahead with works to have an alternator replaced. However, I was not given an authorisation code until further down the line. The drive/serpentine belt was not covered even though this is a 5 star policy. So anyone considering this company - please note: no belts are covered.
Despite me having received a response from this company but only after I reviewed the service on Trustpilot, the garage was still advised to contact them. The garage tried on the specific telephone number for dealerships & garages but to no avail, no option for them to speak with anyone even though opening hours are apparently 9am to 1pm. I tried the number for plan holders but same thing. Utterly hopeless on a weekend with weekdays being so very marginally better.
I had looked at various used car warranties previously & without doubt, this one was the more cost effective one, that being said, if you dont mind hanging on the phone for an age to register a fault with your vehicle, chasing up agents who fail to give out full information and dialling numbers on a weekend that lead nowhere, then this is the company to use.
There is room for much improvement because sales, as said previously, are brilliant - polite, give details out and cant do enough BUT as soon as you need to use for the warranty, the service falls short.
I'm not going to cancel the plan as my car is old but I do hope that the next time I have to use the warranty, the procedure will be more straightforward & call waiting times kept to the absolute minimum.

I would first like to apologise for the difficulty you encountered when trying to contact us. We experienced exceptionally high call volumes following the bank holiday period, compounded by the introduction of a new internal claims system. While these changes are intended to improve long term service, I fully acknowledge that, in the short term, they resulted in unacceptable waiting times and limited accessibility — particularly over the weekend.
Regarding your claim, while a claim reference number was issued, I'm sorry the authorisation process was not clearly explained from the outset. We recognise how important it is for both customers and repairers to receive timely and complete information so repairs can proceed without unnecessary delay or stress.
With respect to the drive/serpentine belt, I appreciate how disappointing this was. Although your policy offers a high level of cover, unfortunately this is not a listed part under the policy terms.
While I’m pleased to hear you found our sales team helpful and informative, it’s clear that your claims experience didn't meet the same standard, and that consistency is something we are actively working to improve.
Should you need to make a future claim or require support, we will of course do our best to ensure the process is far smoother next time.

We too out a warranty for our van we…
We took out a warranty for our van we bought from Dealer who gave us all service documents + latest service invoice they carried out
Unfortunately didn’t included ever VAT invoice so for that reason warranty invalid
Check your paper work before you get caught out - you must provide VAT invoices for all

Bought 4-Star policy sold as “comprehensive” wear/tear cover for 2016 Mercedes MOT fails (spring link, brakes). AutoProtect denied—only “coil springs” covered, no labour. 30-45min hold to agent; Click4Warranty transferred me, waited another 45min on same line. Misleading ads, awful service. Waste of money. I understand brakes and tyres not covered as they are wear and tear. But the labour also not covered . If the part is not covered you can’t ask for the labour even though it mentioned up to £100 covered . Total waste of money and misleading policy. I am totally disappointed and ended up with £2 k repair bill.

They ticked enough boxes to convince me
I did some research on GAP insurance and liked that Martin Lewis had recommended these guys. Not the cheapest I found not the dearest either.
I had some questions from my research and Sam answered these for me, and as such I signed up for their GAP insurance.
