I have had a couple of dogs before and thought I knew what I was doing when it came to training a puppy. Unfortunately the ‘puppy blues’ hit hard after a couple of weeks and I started to regret my breed of dog. My puppy wasn’t taking treats outside of the house and as a result I was finding puppy training almost impossible. I begged for recommendations for puppy training classes near me and was surprised that the first 50% of responses were recommending Kate and really pushing how fabulous she was so I contacted her. I had already looked online and found crazy prices of £1,150 per week and £349 per week from other companies who required a 2 or 3 year commitment. I couldn’t afford that sort of money which is why I tried to do everything myself with help from YouTube and social media. However, that was just confusing as one trainer would say one thing and another would say another but hand on heart I can tell you that not one of these videos gave me the confidence and reassurance that Kate did. So, when I contacted Kate I knew I’d found my trainer. She doesn’t push ridiculous prices and doesn’t believe in overcharging those people that are overwhelmed after bringing home this sweet bundle of fluff that quickly turns into a tear away. Not one single one of these big name companies gave any type of reassurance when I said that my puppy wasn’t trainable with treats and told me that some dogs aren’t and we’d have to find ‘her way’ of learning but it my take weeks. Kate was the only one who told me, after a long chat, that my puppy wasn’t treat adverse, she was simply scared. Kate told us to stop taking my puppy for walks along a busy road (we live on a major A road which made this advice difficult but she was right!) as we were not desensitising her but were actually building up the fear inside of her. We ended up spending over an hour on the phone when I first called because I had so many questions but Kate answered each and every question with the type of in-depth information that the other companies would’ve charged me for. I asked if I could book a one hour one-to-one session to get some extra help. After the session I asked Kate to rebook and although she would’ve happily done so if I really wanted to she said it wasn’t necessary and that most of my questions would be covered within the puppy training classes that would be starting in a month. I was honestly expecting Kate to go through one subject in the one-to-one lesson but we went through so many. One of these was toilet training and I thought this would be weeks away from any progress as our puppy hadn’t even attempted to wee or poo outside despite our best attempts at getting her to. Kate talked us through everything about what to do and how to reward her. We started with Kate’s advice as soon as she woke up from her nap and it worked! She had her first wee outside!! The next day we followed Kate’s guidance again and got 5/6 wees and 1/2 poos outdoors. We genuinely thought it was a fluke but the day after she did every wee and poo outdoors. I would class her as completely toilet trained now because the only times she has gone indoors are because we haven’t been fast enough in following the rules so it is definitely us not our puppy. I am genuinely shocked at how easy we are finding puppy training when we follow the guidance. Thanks to Kate we have fallen back in love with our puppy. Don’t get me wrong we didn’t not love our puppy but the puppy blues hit pretty hard especially when she’s started nipping our children enough to draw blood (she was scared so not her fault). I am excited to be starting puppy training classes with Kate soon but based on our single one-to-one hour we would already recommend Kate EXTREMELY highly to anyone and everyone looking for advice. Any questions I’ve had since the lesson (and even before!) Kate has answered and explained in as much detail as I’ve needed. Not once has she discouraged us or told us that XYZ is not possible with our breed of puppy, like many others have done before her, she has always been very positive and told us how much we can do with her with time. I could sit and ramble on and on, and already have done so, about how amazing Kate has been but I know most won’t get this far in reading this review so if you have well done. I will summarise why I think Kate is fantastic;
Kate trains puppies and dogs for the love of it not simply as a money making enterprise, what she charges for the information she gives is, in my opinion, underpriced.
Kate doesn’t just take your money, give you the training you’ve paid for and disappear, no, she is there for continued care and will only take your money if she genuinely believes that you and your puppy/dog will benefit from it.
The advice Kate gives is easy to understand and easy to work with.
Kate is one of the only trainers that I contacted who is fully qualified.
Kate is AWESOME!

Fantastic puppy obedience course ,which helped to build confidence not only for my puppy but also me!!Kate is amazing and has a genuine passion for her work with puppies / dogs.Her teaching methods are based on a motivational praise and reward scheme.So skilled and knowledgeable.
Highly organised classes,which are not only informative ,but pro active and great fun.Excellent for socialising puppies and nipping bad habits in the bud!!!
Kate from registration on the course to completion ,provided useful information as a reference and a support.A what’s app group was set up as an added support network.No question was a silly one and always given advice to overcome issues encountered with training promptly.
My puppy Rupert has had a great time and a wonderful foundation ,so taking a bit of the stress out of being a new puppy parent.

Kate is, without a doubt, the best dog trainer I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

She’s worked with my pup from a young age and with my older dog since he was two, and the growth in both of them has been incredible. With two cocker spaniels who have completely different personalities, Kate has always given direct, honest advice that genuinely works for us, while taking into account the kind of relationship we want to build with our dogs.

I’ve know Kate for just a few weeks having attended puppy classes and also had one on one training sessions at home with two puppies. I cannot recommend Kate highly enough. It is not just her knowledge, which is exceptional, but the way she involves you in the puppy training process. Her positive and jovial demeanor gets everyone on board, including the puppies! Not long after the session I received detailed recommendations by email specific to certain traits we are trying to address. Kate is an excellent addition to anyone’s attempt at puppy training!

What a lovely person Kate is, really friendly, patient and informative, no question is a daft question and she’s always willing to offer pointers and advice which is extremely helpful. Kate came round prior to us collecting our dog to provide guidance and advice and she was really reassuring and helped reduce my nerves straight away. She’s always available and approachable if ever you need advice, she’s always happy to help. We really look forward to attending our puppy training classes!

My groomer recommended Kate at Clicking with Canines as my gorgeous, but strong willed, Border Terrier was a nightmare (barking, whining and generally bring a nuisance) when I met with friends at a cafe or pub, leading to us frequently having to leave in disgrace. Kate was wonderfully informative about why Fergus was behaving this way and taught me simple but effective techniques to modify his behaviour. Kate is great fun and obviously loves her work so I have every confidence that she will get Fergus and me to a place where we are both happy and comfortable in situations which would normally trigger Fergus. Would recommend!

​We had a wonderful experience completing the 6-Week Puppy Class with our dog, Vanilla. Kate is an outstanding trainer—highly informative, professional, and clearly passionate about positive reinforcement training.

​The structure of the course is excellent. It correctly focuses on teaching the owners the necessary skills, which means even if your puppy (like ours, Vanilla!) is more interested in trying to play with the other dogs than listening in class, you still leave with all the tools you need.

​The access to detailed homework and support materials was invaluable for practicing between sessions. It’s clear how much effort goes into making the material accessible.

I have a working Cocker Spaniel so needed a little extra help due to his exuberance! Not only was Kate caring and understanding of the dog, but patience personified with the humans at the class. With her expert knowledge and guidance, my now 6 month old puppy is already showing very positive signs of obedience and loyalty. Thank you Kate.

We started in Kate’s puppy class with our 4 month old Lab. he started having a fear of getting in the car & she observed this one evening after class. I engaged her 1-2-1 for several sessions at home and I can honestly say she was amazing. She’s straightforward, honest, experienced and fun. Her larger than life personality made everything fun for us and the dog! She is so loving and considerate towards the dog, Charlie, and he is besotted with her! She’s been extremely helpful with a slow, easy approach to the car and it’s worked! I couldn’t have gotten so far in my training without her and her endless skills and therefore highly recommend her for any type of training, classes are great, 1-2-1 was so focused and behavioural issues were approached with a gentle touch. I cannot recommend her enough. You won’t be disappointed and your dog will thrive!

We had a problem with our 21 month old cockapoo Lola when walking by busy roads. Lorries, vans, buses and bikes frightening her, causing her to bark and lunge at them. She was also reactive to most dogs and joggers with the result that taking her for a walk was stressful for my husband and I rather than the pleasant experience you expect on a walk in this beautiful part of the world!. Until we met Kate......in just a few sessions, Kate was able to turn this around, teaching us techniques for distracting Lola and putting us all at ease on our walks. We still have work to do but we're confident we can achieve what we set out to thanks to Kate's help. We found her extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful and would not hesitate to recommend her or call her if we needed help or advice in the future.

I would highly recommend clicking with canines as Kate helped my puppy out by bringing understanding out as well as confidence.

Having little idea on rehoming older dog we needed some advice and Kate was brilliant. Understood the issues and didn’t make us feel like failures. Appreciated our genuine concern and is working with us rather than just telling us and leaving us to it. Fantastic dog knowledge which made us more aware of how our dog is feeling and why she is behaving the way she is. Lots of work to do but reassuring to know someone understands and is supporting without undermining our efforts! Definitely recommend. Have done puppy classes previously and found them helpful too

Kate is a brilliant dog trainer and is incredibly knowledgeable about everything pup and their behaviour! This was our first ever experience of puppy classes, after many years of various family dogs. We learnt so much and are so happy with the progress our spaniel Millie has made in her first 6 weeks puppy course - particularly, Kate's training has shone through in Millie's listening and her recall which are getting better and better everyday. Kate is also an amazing human trainer - lord knows we need it to keep on track with training a cocker! We loved the sessions so much, and saw huge benefits with Millie, that we have booked onto her Teenage Tearaways course in a few weeks time! We cannot wait to be back 😁 thanks Kate, for your patience, wit, and undeniable knowledge!

Don't usually use dog trainers but thought i would more to help the husband! But I can say I've learnt alot, really friendly classes and Kate definitely knows her stuff, would recommend to anyone

Kate's classes were warm and welcoming, her love of puppies and dogs is so clear to see. As a first time dog mum I wasn't made to feel useless or inadequate which was one of my worries when starting such a class. Bea loved her classes and wiggled her bottom from beginning to end (even if she wasn't supposed to!). I find the written material so helpful as it enables me to come back to things as I have time to do so, I also appreciate what a mammoth effort it would be to put such a comprehensive pack together!

Both Wilf and I loved our puppy classes with Kate! Wilf was so excited and couldn’t wait to get into the hall as soon as we pulled up each week. Kate is an absolutely fantastic trainer (of dogs and their humans) and we both learnt a great deal, which we are continuing to put into practice at home. Kate made the training really easy to understand, and Wilf made so much progress I’m completely amazed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for puppy classes, and we have already booked onto the next stage to continue Wilf’s training. Kate has also been fantastic at supporting with Wilf being reluctant to walk from home, and we will continue to work with her alongside classes. A genuine, caring expert! Thank you, Kate! x

I cannot recommend Kate highly enough. Diggory and I have just completed our 6 week puppy course with Kate. I have had dogs all my life and attended many different training classes countrywide throughout the years. Kate is by far the best trainer I have worked with. The class was limited to six puppies ensuring Kate could pay attention to all the puppies and owners. Kate is a dog lover and this is carried through to her positive training methods. The practical class sessions were supported by clear, comprehensive written material. I have booked our next stage of classes, Teenage Tearaways. Thank you, Kate.

Kate is excellent with dogs and really good at explaining all matters to humans too. She helped us massively with our super reactive dog and made us feel that she is always there if we need an advice.
