STILL NO CONTACT RE OWED £3000

I am still awaiting ANY contact from this latest iteration of a company, which is owned by the same people, about £3000 owed as a deposit for work that was never done.

This is the information I found on COMPANIES HOUSE database.
1. CLYDEBUILT GROUP 2017 LTD - liquidated 14/6/17.
2. CLYDEBUILT HOME IMPROVEMENTS formed 14/6/17 & name changed to SHCS SALES & MARKETING 19/7/19 and liquidated 4/7/24.
3. CLYDEBUILT HI GROUP LTD liquidated 31/8/21.
4. CLYDEBUILT MANUFACTURING LTD 31/8/21 - 11/3/25 liquidated.
5. CLYDEBUILT RENEWABLES LTD 17/1/20 17/3/26 liquidated.
6. CLYDEBUILT WINDOWS LTD liquidated.
7. AEM CO 100 LTD liquidated.

ALL of these companies have had different members of the same group of people listed as directors, they have all used the same correspondence addresses in either INGRAM HOUSE, AIRBLES HOUSE, WOODVALE AVENUE & MORRIS PARK.

On top of this they have the audacity to sponsor PARTICK THISTLE FC, somehow finding the money for this extravagance rather than paying back their creditors.

SCANDALOUS!!!!

I had new windows installed by Clydebuilt Windows & Doors

I had new windows installed by Clydebuilt Windows & Doors in mid-2025, but unfortunately, the aftercare service has been extremely poor.

I reported an issue with the window frames coming loose in September 2025, and since then, it has been a long series of missed appointments, lack of communication, and incorrect claims that I had missed visits.

Engineers either arrived without notice, didn’t have the correct materials, or didn’t show up at all. Despite this, I was asked to pay a £75 call-out fee in advance. I paid in good faith, but appointments on 20 March and 10 April 2026 were both missed with no explanation.

Repeated calls and emails have often gone unanswered, and I have had to chase constantly just to get updates.

Overall, very disappointing aftercare service. I would strongly recommend others to consider this before choosing this company.

Unprofessional customer service

Windows fitted on Monday 23rd February by a really efficient and hard working team and Windows of a high quality but unfortunately vents for windows were missing along with outside sill edges and windows trimmings were damaged so installation is still not complete in spite of phone calls and emails to complete the installation. A very unprofessional attitude towards completing the installation.

Communication and greater concerns

I had a garden room built by Clydebuilt 2 years ago when they were based in Cambuslang. I am very happy with it and if there were any snagging issues during the immediate post build period, these were dealt with timeously. However, a small issue has since developed regarding the garden room roof. I contacted Clydebuilt through their website before Christmas
2025- no reply. I emailed at the end of January 2026 and again in February - no reply. I then sent a letter to their Cambuslang office by recorded delivery- again no reply. It was then I found out that the company had gone into liquidation in February 2025. There is a 10 year guarantee on my garden room. What am I meant to do?
PS I can’t understand the Trustpilot reviews which are dated 2026 for a company which is meant to be in liquidation. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement

Faulty installation, missed appointments, now uncontactable. Conned out of £££

I paid for patio doors in early November, with installation scheduled for early December. This did not happen. The company repeatedly failed to attend agreed appointments, and the doors were not installed until mid-January.

From the moment they were fitted, it was clear the installation was not correct. The doors were not sealed properly, causing significant draughts and making it extremely difficult to retain heat in the house.

An installer later attended and confirmed the issue, stating the door had been incorrectly measured and was approximately 10mm too large. I was advised that the left panel would need to be removed and replaced. Despite this, the issue remains unresolved.

The quality of the product itself is also unacceptable. The glass panes show visible contamination and are covered in scratches, which is not what I paid for.

Since installation, the level of service has been extremely poor:
- Multiple missed appointments with no notice
- Numerous promises of call-backs that were never fulfilled
- Poor communication and dismissive handling by office staff
- No clear plan to resolve the issue

As a direct result, I have had to cancel other essential work, including blind installation and a security system fitting, because the doors are not properly installed.

The faulty installation has also led to increased heating usage, as the property cannot retain heat effectively.

I submitted a formal written complaint, which was ignored. No response was received and no action was taken.

The company has now become uncontactable, with phone lines no longer working, and it appears they may have ceased trading without completing the work.

I have since carried out my own checks into the company’s background, which raises further concerns about how this situation has been handled.

I am also disabled, and the ongoing stress, disruption, and uncertainty caused by this experience has had a significant impact on my health.

I am now in the process of contacting Trading Standards and seeking legal advice.

This has been an extremely distressing experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

Be careful with this company.

Be careful with this company.
In August 2024 I had all windows and main door installed by them.
After just over a year I started having problems regarding the installation.
In November 2025 they promised to come and fix the problem. Today, 26th of March 2026, they let me down 4 times without notice or explanation.
I did contact FENSA, as they are supposed to be approved by them, to my surprise that they are not approved anymore.
The next step is taking them to court. Do not waste your money on this shameful company.

One glazing unit had a cracked glass, it had to be fitted as the old window had been taken out. Cap ends for the exterior were missing x 16 was told they would be back in a week, needless to say nobody showed up. When eventually I got through to them on the phone which was a task in itself I was given a date of 24th of March again a no show I find it’s impossible to contact them by phone or email as they never respond.

Expecting an engineer last week

Expecting an engineer last week, didnt show to provide remedial work for a whistling window. Tried constantly to get in touch no joy. Have spoken to the finance company for help as it would appear Clydebuilt Windows and Doors no longer in operation. NGA Electrical Services claim they do not supply Double Glazing even though its the name on the finance agreement with Propensio.

Would not recommend, terrible communication

Windows fitted January 2023,
Missold quality. Job rescheduled and delays, faulse promises, over charged for product installed.
Still fighting to get issues resolved.
Multiple emails ignored.
Finally managed to have my call answered to fix a window mechanism which broke in October.
Date arranged to fix was rescheduled, then no show! and called multiple times to call rings out.
Terrible company, Terrible communications, would not recommend.

PENSIONER REGRETS WINDOW TRANSACTION

Update on below. I was able to cancel the deposit cheque at the bank on the Monday. What a relief and I found out that they had gone bankrupt on Thursday 19th March and came to do business with me a 78 year old pensioner on the Friday.

Clydebuilt windows I wish I had seen these reviews first. I know what they say to be careful of double glazing companies. The company involved is A. CUTHILL GLAZING LTD TRADING AS CLYDEBUILT WINDOWS AND DOORS GLASGOW. I am 78 years old - a pensioner living alone and had seen the FREE WINDOW AND DOOR FUNDING FOR SCOTTISH HOMEOWNERS - TIME WAS RUNNING OUT - message pop up on my NextDoor site when on my laptop. What would any old pensioner think of that? What should it mean? Not discounted but FREE FUNDING. I have two lots of sliding patio doors and one bedroom window which are ancient at the back of the house. The front of the house had to get double glazing already as main road noise was fierce. The wind blows through the PATIO DOORS ON TWO FLOORS and there is a big space at the top of one patio door. I wear 4 cardigans through the late autumns and winters and I do not put on my central heating unless it is Baltic so on the spur of the moment I filled in the enquiry form on the advert on my laptop. I just finally thought it would be great to not have the wind blowing through the old doors next winter. I am not a silly person I have had 3 lots of double glazing put in previous homes through the years. Immediate response call came from Clydebuilt and a nice guy came yesterday Friday 20th March and he measured up. So calculates and gives me the figures. I was not pleased and he typically - as they do - telephoned his boss. I still was not pleased and he telephoned again. He also received a couple of phone calls and said it was his family calling him. I asked what did the FREE FUNDING mean on the advert? They were not free but it meant a £250 PER WINDOW DISCOUNT he said and I should have finished the visit there and then. He said one patio door counts as two windows! Total £4,000 + £399 for a surveyor to come. Even though nothing was free and I hesitated twice and the "call the boss scenario" was performed twice I paid £799 deposit by cheque = 10% of the £4000 and £399 for the surveyor's fee. I TELEPHONED THE SALESMAN THE SAME EVENING AND ADVISED I WANTED TO CANCEL THE ORDER AND WAS TOLD TO PHONE HIS BOSS AND EMAIL. It was the weekend I EMAILED THE CANCELLATION WITH FULL DETAILS THE SAME NIGHT BUT I WAS SCARED. NO DATE FOR FITTING WAS WRITTEN AND 7 DAYS CANCELLATION POLICY APPLIES BUT WITH LOTS OF CONDITIONS. I HAVE HAD A BRAIN SCAN AND GET MIXED UP A BIT NOW. THE BOSS PHONED ME ON THE MONDAY AND I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT GOING AHEAD WITH THE ORDER AND HAD SENT THE CANCELLATION ON THE SAME DAY AS THE ORDER BY EMAIL.

An updated from my previous post dated…

An updated from my previous post dated the 4th March. Since then I have tried on numerous occasions to be advised on progress for my patio door which was ordered on the 25th November 2005, the windows were installed in mid January although waiting for a part for the patio door. I tried calling 4 times this morning but just ringing out. I wonder if they have closed their doors due to bad management. This may attract some attention from their management and they can call me if they exist. My next step is talking to my lawyer to see if I can be eligible for compensation. Keep well away from this company, if they are still in existence. A frustrated customer.

Avoid – Very Unprofessional Service

I would strongly advise avoiding Clydebuild.
From start to finish, our experience has been extremely disappointing. During the window installation, the team caused damage to our furniture, textiles, and walls. Despite repeated requests, the supervisor never visited to inspect the damage and instead made excuses each time.
We escalated the issue to management, but our messages were ignored. We even involved Small Claims, which the company also failed to respond to.
The workmanship itself has been poor — we now have issues with the windows, and although Clydebuild keeps setting dates for repairs, no one ever turns up.
Overall, a very unprofessional company with poor communication and accountability. I would not recommend them. 1 star is generous
