Excellent service from CMD

Excellent service from CMD, delivered the Sandstone Slabs I required for the job and I even managed to receive a refund on what was extra.
Just the delivery was a little abrupt and unannounced.
Pro: Price/service/quality
Neg: Delivery Driver should notify or call prior delivery

Top materials and a lovely Family run local business you can rely on. My one stop shop for natural stone products. I have many happy customers and reviews due to these products making our workmanship shine. I couldn’t recommend this company more or I would. 🔥💯🔥

Lovely selection of slabs

Prompt email communication, obliged me by keeping my slabs until I was ready for them and kindly refunded the delivery charge when my builder preferred to collect them. Second time I have had slabs from this firm and delighted each time. Thank you, highly recommend.

Excellent Suppliers & Service

The whole team at CMD from Scott , Dave and Kirsty were extremely helpful, friendly and precise in exactly what I would require for our patio project. They processed the order expeditely and reimbursed any refunds without any delay. The wide range of fantastic pavings at their show space and website is brilliant and competively priced too. I would 100% go to CMD for any patio materials. CMD is highly recommended.

Good business, Poor customer service. Poor communication, Mistakes made, Banned from visiting.

Purchased Sesame granite slabs in May for steps.
Natural product……Poor quality.
Chose then Purchased G603 Bullnose steps in October….Laid -Excellent quality.
Chose then purchased G603 slabs in October for a ramp…..Laid - Excellent quality.
Ordered did not choose G603 then changed mind to Vietnamese Old Dark Grey slabs to redo and finish patio steps in October…..Pallet was delivered with slabs on their side all looked the same.
2 days work to complete during variable weather by 2 men. When finished 2/3 different coloured slabs ……not taken from the same pallet.
A disaster!
Blamed for mixing up slabs
Blamed for changing mind last minute
Vietnamese blamed for packing mixed slabs
Builder blamed for not noticing
No return or refund for laid slabs
After visit responsibility accepted as previous orders had been laid.
Had placed another order for Vietnamese ODG but after seeing the mixed colours in the rain decided to visit the yard and choose a different colour.
Went with Surf granite bullnose steps and slabs for risers etc. Excellent quality look great.
Steps had to be removed plus mortar, then replaced.
3+ days work at customer’s expense.

The reply from the Manager is full of discrepancies, to cover up his own short comings.
We have the 12 new slabs that were delivered unknown to the owner. I have not used them as they are not fit for purpose and had agreed to return as I was offered a replacement by the owner, that I have declined as enough is enough.
There is one rule for the owner and another for the manager, poor communication. The manager has not corresponded with me since mid October, yet he replied to my review.
All correspondence has been through the owner and been inconsistent, I feel something is not right at CMD.

We (CMD Stone) are sorry to read this review by MW.

It is true we (CMDStone) were a bit flummoxed on the variation in colour when MW (the client/complainant) sent us the photos via text. Because of this issue we physically visited the worksite (something we'd not normally do) and we conceded that indeed the colours were wrong.

Note:
1) The 'wrong colour' slabs hadn't been de-boxed by us: these slabs were packed in Vietnam and then finally unpacked by your landscaper.
2) It also seemed strange to us that out of hundreds Vietnamese slabs already sold, adored by our clientele, you were the only client whom had a bad batch.

We agreed to swap out the 9x slabs which were the wrong colour (which MW then haggled up to 12x slabs) as a gesture of goodwill. We delivered the 12x new slabs (taking photos of each slab to prove they, as all our slabs, are of sellable quality). We also covered some of MW's costs for the removal of the 'wrong colour' slabs and relaying of the 12x correct, replacement slabs, as a gesture of goodwill. Slabs already laid are, normally, non-refundable, however we broke our own rules to try to satisfy MW.

Note:
1)       MW verbally suggested that we not charge VAT, something which of course we're legally not able to do.
2)       MW was also undercharged for a previous order due to CMDStone mistake, and MW was invited to pay the difference but MW did not wish to settle this outstanding balance
3)       We're not sure why removing steps and risers is an issue relating back to CMDStone.

We do not want MW's future business as we've lost money in trying to satisfy MW. At every opportunity when we have conceded and tried to appease MW, MW has continued to immediately request additional free stock.

CMDStone desperately wants to distance from this client, as client is causing stress to individual staff and company in general.

I'd suggest other companies consider this individual prior to commencing a transaction. It’s a shame TrustPilot can’t offer companies reviews on clients.

Finally, the reader of this review would be urged to read other reviews authored by MW against other companies. The reader can then consider the common denominator in the 'issues'.
