By far my favourite exchange in the UK - genuine company and good people - particularly compared to alot of the faceless casinos out there constantly shilling their altcoin collection! Easy to use interface, built in lightning wallet and they give away free Sats! Follow them on twitter for regular freebies as well as great info about Bitcoin!.... looking forward to getting my Bolt cards too which you can order on their website! Exactly what I needed
Finally on-ramping from fiat to crypto, I originally did KYC with KuCoin... but then their option to buy crypto didn't work for me and they refused to look at why or do anything about it. So I asked a reliable friend how they bought their BTC: CoinCorner.
After a simple sign-up, the KYC went smoothly (although a little slower than Ku because I did it just after the 4-day weekend). They require a short telephone conversation to ensure new users are aware of scams, conducted late in the day for me by someone competent, capable and friendly (thanks, Phil).
Deposited a sum to get started, bought BTC, sent it to the place I wanted - all done easily, smoothly and with plenty of passwording and security. Exactly what I needed as a simple, reliable fiat-to-crypto service. Excellent.
Update: Since joining, I have completed several crypto purchases and transfers. I have also run into AML checking as I presumably passed an arbitrary maximum. CoinCorner have handled the process far better than any bank: calm, helpful, provided all the required information and were patient when I had delays due to my bank doing their (terrible) version of security checks. Very, very pleased with everything about this company!

Bad behaviour on top of technical system failure, poor security and poor support.
UPDATE: the withdraw has been processed immediately after posting this review, so I have increased the rating to two stars. It still remains an utterly horrible experience that took weeks, and sad that it requires a bad review on here to correct the situation. I had exhausted all other avenues available to contact CoinCorner about this before writing this review. There is still no response from 'support' or replies to the email chain; but somehow after this review the bitcoin magically appeared at the withdraw address. The 'support' technician did everything to block the withdraw and very little to ensure security. Note to CoinCorner: you don't repeatedly ask a customer to supply a phone number by email when that phone number is clearly registered with your account details. CoinCorner are now trying to get this review removed, so I have to do even more work now to provide proof to TrustPilot. Just adding bad behaviour on top of technical system failure, poor security and poor support.
Original review: Deposited bitcoin with a view to selling. The market moved and the sale was no longer desirable. Have been unable to withdraw the bitcoin deposited. Even though it's just back to the same address it came from. 'Support' have been requesting all sorts of phone numbers by email, photos of driving licenses and hand written messages, had to leave phone messages on some number. The system is broken and it is not possible to change phone numbers on the account. Account now shows no transactions, no balance and support have stopped replying to emails. The withdraw request is not processed and CoinCorner has stolen the bitcoin. This seems impossible .. and yet here we are. Empty coincorner account and no bitcoin in my wallet.

I believe that our support team explained the reason for the delay in processing your BTC withdrawal to you in your email thread. We conduct security calls when users are looking to withdraw larger values of BTC to ensure that everything is in order before we release the funds. We conduct these calls to protect our users from potentially being the victim of a scam or an account takeover.
Unfortunately there was some added security steps that we needed to take in your situation so we could be sure that we were talking to the owner of the CoinCorner account, we need to be sure of this before completing any phone calls so we can be sure that it is the account owner that is authorising the withdrawal.
Our support team have been corresponding with you regarding this, perhaps their most recent responses have been going to your junk/spam folder as I can see there has been 3 or 4 emails from our team to you without any responses. We are happy to see that you were able to complete our security checks in the end though and that the BTC withdrawal was processed for you. Apologies for the delay, but as we mentioned we take these security steps to protect our users and to ensure that it is them that is requesting and authorising any withdrawals from their account.

All users have our standard buy and sell functionality available to them on the mobile app, you will need to go into the 'Exchange' tab and tap the conversion icon in the middle of the page to change this from 'buying' to 'selling'.

Coincorner - better than Coinbase
Straightforward, non complicated way to buy Bitcoin. They have recurring autobuys and lightning network integration... not many other exchanges currently have both!
Also, the exchange is operated by people who understand Bitcoin and have Bitcoins best interests at heart, unlike most of these other well known exchanges.

We are sorry to see that you would rate CoinCorner only one star. I believe you have been in correspondence with our support team in the past regarding your cashback orders, the two you have emailed about both not being captured on the retailer's end and not CoinCorner's.
We can see that our team got back to you regarding the orders you got in touch about and requested that both be manually captured by the retailer and that both now have, unfortunately there is nothing more we can do on our end to speed this process up. As with traditional cashback schemes the cashback can only be credited when it's received with the cashback provider and, while both your orders are now approved, we have not received the payout from the retailer for either and as such cannot credit the funds.
Different retailers have different payout times, and as we mention there is nothing we can do to speed up this payout time as it does depend on the retailer. Your cashback will be credited to your CoinCorner account when we receive the funds ourselves from the retailers.

With regard to your feedback about response time, our support team aim to get back to users within a couple of hours maximum when responding to support queries. I can see you have had a prompt response in the past when submitting a ticket, however you may be referring to your support query from this weekend.
Our standard working hours are 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, and any support tickets received outside of those hours will be responded to at the earliest opportunity. As this is the case the ticket you submitted over the weekend was not responded to until this morning, however any tickets submitted during our working hours will be responded to within a couple of hours as mentioned.
