Recently returned from a wonderful week long photography workshop with Colin exploring Muck, Rum, Eigg, Canna and Coll. Blessed with wonderful weather, this was a mixture of tutorial, one to one tuition and personal exploration of these beautiful islands, camera in hand. The lodge was a treat, great hospitality, wonderful food and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this trip. It was not my first with Colin and is unlikely to be my last.
I enjoyed every moment
I enjoyed every moment. It was enormous fun. Wonderful weather of course, wonderful scenery, tuition, and food. And great company.

Muck & the Small Isles
Another great trip with Colin again - always available for help, tips and advice as needed, along with great locations and planning. Accommodation & food at the Lodge was superb. Thanks.
Muck Tour 2023
My first tour with Colin and had a great time. Superb accommodation and food and many varied photographic opportunities.
Muck 18-25th May 2023
Another great workshop with Colin. As usual the accommodation and food were superb. The Lodge on Muck and the island itself are indeed special places.
Workshops run superbly with plenty of opportunities to do your own thing while Colin is always on hand to offer advice and help if required.
Can't recommend this highly enough
Mull and environs
Superb accommodation, food and company with many and varied photographic opportunities. If you like landscape and nature photography then you would struggle to find a much better experience. Two memorable day trips on the Benmore Lady visiting Lunga, Iona, Staffa, Erraid and Gunna provided a great contrast to locations on Mull itself. Colin, as always, organised everything and was available to pass on his knowledge and perspective.
Isle of Mull Photographic Tour May 2023
A unique photographic experience that combined the exceptional landscape and wildlife of the Isle of Mull with exclusive high-class accommodation in a Scottish Estate Lodge and truly fine dining. We visited locations around Mull that were both magnificent and challenging to photograph. Two day trips on the motor launch to visit the Treshnish Islands, Staffa, Iona, Erraid, Gunna and Mull's 'Wilderness' were memorable - lots of wildlife on land, in the sea and air and unrivalled coastal landscapes. Thank you Colin for putting together such a magnificent trip - and being on hand to guide in the art of photography throughout our visit.
Mull 7-13 May 2023
This was my third trip with Colin having previously been to Assynt and Islay. As always it was meticulously planned from start to finish with the flexibility needed to allow for the weather. This can only happen because of the immense local knowledge Colin has which has been built up through years of experience. As the group leader Colin is always available and is happy to share advice as well as his vast photographic experience and knowledge as happened thought this trip but especially on our last afternoon in the white sandy coves of Erraid. This was a fantastic experience. I met great people, had terrific food and I would highly recommend it!
Mull Trip
This was a stunning week of photography and high quality hospitality. The accommodation and food provided at Knock House on the Benmore estate was outstanding, the best I have experienced on many trips of this nature. The location and Colin's unrivalled knowledge of photographic locations provided some great photographic opportunities. Colin was always ready, throughout the week, to provide advice and a quick tutorial when asked. The critique session also providing a great learning opportunity. The highlight were the two days on the Benmore Lady exploring various islands and local coastlines providing opportunities to photograph both landscapes and wildlife, unforgettable days.
Another excellent trip
My 6th trip with Colin this time to the Orkney Islands. Well researched locations with dramatic scenery and accompanying wildlife so always lots to shoot. Ferry crossings required a couple of early starts but meant we got to some of the less visited and spectacular locations.
The accommodation was excellent with spacious and well equipped rooms and the food was of the same standard prepared with lots of the lovely local produce.
Colin's critiques and advice are always welcome and encouraging.
Highly recommended.
Skye and Torridon photography tour
Very well facilitated tour with a variety of landscape photographic opportunities amongst great scenery in the company of a small group of international amateur photographers. Colin (and his colleague Bob) were the perfect hosts, adapting the itinerary according to conditions and keenly sharing their photographic expertise. Nothing was too much trouble and I learnt a lot about both the technical and compositional aspects of landscape photography. Delightful hotel and a thoroughly enjoyable few days
Landscape photography with experts on Skye
Colin and his buddy Bob drove us around to all the best locations on Skye and Torridon. His relaxed and sympathetic style suited me perfectly and even enduring the early starts to catch sunrise was tolerable! I had a great time with a multinational party of photographers in a delightful hotel with excellent meals.Overall excellent value. I hope to go to Orkney and Shetland with Colin next year.My images look OK too! George
Islay Photo Tour
Just back from a photography tour of Islay. The island offered a variety of great locations which were all easily accessible. The accommodation was superb with a lovely menu and excellent service. Colin's love of the landscape, and the nature that inhabits it, make his workshops a total delight. Highly recommended
