Colin Ridgewell and Sons Reviews 9

This is the 5th time we've employed Colin Ridgewell & Sons. It is run by Robert (son) and his excellent men. We once again called on Robert to build a small rockery in the back garden. This was after the great success of a very large rockery Robert & his men built just over a year ago in the front garden. They are 2 very different rockeries, needing a good deal of thought to complete.
I'm posting a couple of photos through google reviews on their website to show how good the finished product is.

Neil, Liam and Steve were excellent at replacing our old concrete patio and rotten softwood pergola with a fantastic porcelain patio and oak pergola. They not only worked really hard, giving attention to detail, but were lovely guys as well. We are thrilled with what they have achieved and would thoroughly recommend them.

Right from the start they did a great job of understanding my requirements and putting a plan together.
The team arrived 3 weeks before their expected date and did a brilliant job of my new patio, building steps, a ramp and tiling it to a very high standard
They worked in the rain, the cold and the sun.
Then moved onto widening the lawn area, levelling out the grass area, building a lovely round shape into the mowing strip.
Each step of the way reviewing and discussing progress.
Then laid a beautiful new lawn.
They were neat, tidy and cleaned up all the time, in spite of it being an extremely messy job.
They finished on time and went the extra mile tidying up the little bits.
Time was spent time helping me with layouts for my new plantings.
Plantsmanship is awesome.
I can’t wait for spring to see it growing.
But even as a brand new garden it’s absolutely beautiful

Absolutely fantastic company. I cannot recommend Robert and his team highly enough. From the design to the after-care, this company truly looks after its customers. Do not hesitate to get in touch with them. We initially had them to landscape our back garden but after doing such a good job, we invited them back to do our front garden as well! 5 star service.

In November 2024, Robert Ridgewell, his brother Duncan, and their team began to landscape my garden, when it was just a bare canvas.

They were an excellent team from day one to the day they finished, nothing was impossible for them. Being a very fussy and a particular gardener, they were very patient answering my questions, explaining how to care for the beautiful varied shrubs, plants and trees. They were always punctual, extremely neat in their work, hardworking, and so very friendly. They were most grateful for any cups of tea or coffee offered to them and always made time for a chat and a laugh.

This excellent team have made my garden beautiful, easy to maintain, and a very special peaceful place.
Every free moment I have, I am always found pottering around, admiring the beauty of my garden with the butterflies and bees, smelling the lavender and roses and often enjoying quiet times in the seating area with a cup of tea and a book. I truly love and enjoy being in my garden. Thank you Robert, Duncan and team for making me a truly happy gardener.

I would definitely recommend this team to anybody wishing to have an amazing garden.

The Ridgewell family laid out this garden forty years ago. They have made a winter visit each year for most years since. The result is some some favourite shrubs with extended lives as well as advice about replacement ones.
The company is always punctual and work meticulously through the day. When they leave everywhere is tidy with all arisings removed. The pruned shrubs never look bare. The garden has shape and interest. I would recommend this long established company to anybody who enjoys their garden and wishes it to remain in good shape and health.

Duncan and Mike did a great job transforming our garden patio . We are very pleased with the final results and would recommend 100% .
