I ordered a long sleeved polo shirt and a short sleeved polo shirt. The website description of these products says to expect some shrinkage in the wash, maybe up to a whole size worth. I worked out that I was between XL and XXL so ordered XXL.
I washed the long sleeved garment and they were right. It shrank. A lot. And not in a uniform way. It's now considerably shorter in the body and arms but pretty much the same width as it was before I wore and washed it. I suppose I should have believed them and decided that I was not a suitable customer as I would end up with a garment that's too small, there not being scope in their sizing for me to risk a whole size's worth of shrink. I haven't worn the short sleeved one yet, maybe if I hand wash it the shrinkage won't be so bad.
It's a shame as the company ethos is good and other things I've ordered from them have been good (although I've not had great experience with the menswear, my wife's done fine). Would be nice if they re-stocked some of their larger sized men's trousers a bit more frequently too.
I ordered the wax jacket for my partner's birthday. When he opened it we discovered it was faulty on the pocket and not sewn correctly. The size chart is also misleading and their sizing comes up very small. Due to the item being faulty I requested a refund. It's now been a month and I'm still waiting for the refund I was promised had been organised by the team at Community Clothing. I've had to follow up again. I am really disappointed in the length of time and how painful it's been to get my money back, it's not how to treat customers if you want them to order again. And as I can see the response to these is always to ask for the order number the order number is
Order 100974
Watch out for the 14 day return period which is legal but not typical and not clear on the website. The courier didn't send a notification on delivery so I missed the delivery for a few days. I ordered two shirts in different sizes and now can't return the one that was too small. Annoying as they are quite expensive. Update - I emailed and CC offered a late return.
The shirt (Olivia) that I kept looks ok but gets very very creased in the wash and is difficult to iron. Overall I don't think I will buy anything else even though I am supportive of the ethos.
I ordered a plain white tee shirt. It arrived promptly and I’m so impressed with the quality and fit. Beautiful thick cotton, lovely style and quite flattering.
Appalling customer service / actually, no customer service whatsoever!
I ordered a camisole, looks lovely and long on the model, it is just as short as any other I can buy on the high street. I ordered a size larger than I am and I'm only 5'4 so not exactly tall.
I really wanted to love this first purchase and would have bought again was it not for their lack of service.
I immediately requested a return, the auto-response said I would receive further instructions. 4 weeks later and I've not had the return instructions/reference or any response to my 4 emails chasing! I will certainly not be recommending them.
It will cost me around £6.00 just to try them and that's without taking into account I'm still £19.50 out of pocket whilst waiting for the refund.

Ordered two pairs of jeans from Community Clothing and these products punch above their weight on the quality to price ratio.
I've received so many compliments every single time I wear these with people mistaking them for high end designer and Japanese denim brands.
The fit also suits a feminine figure with a higher rise at the back for their wide leg and barrel leg style.
Giving four stars as I would urge everyone to check the recommended sizing per product. I was able to get away with my regular size on the baggier fit, but had to go up a size for a more tailored fit.
Despite this I will be back for more as the range expands/updates.
Products and quality are great. Wish there was more variety in styles, colours and sizes. Sizes are often out of stock.
Second time ordering from them and the sizing is inconsistent. A big problem for an online company that charge for returns.
Made a bigger problem by the fact they have to authorise returns on the online portal. I've been waiting for this to be authorised since 12th April. Emailed customer services 17th April, no reply. Now out of pocket £286 with no way to return an order of three items that are all different sizes and don't fit.
Won't be ordering again, which is a shame as I support the ethics and love the quality. Wish they operated more professionally and didn't ignore emails. Will be submitting a section 75 claim to get my money back.

I bought a women’s blue long sleeve t-shirt. As I have come to expect, the standard of fabric and making is fantastic… you can really feel the quality, a real joy to wear.
I have ordered previously & been really happy. My issue with CC is their returns process. I see others have had a similar experience.
The dress I ordered was, by their own admission labelled incorrectly. I got a size12 labelled size 16. All this happened early March. After a few emails I finally got my refund after a month.
As a good will gesture they offered to exchange the jeans which were too long. It is now April 23rd and I still haven't recieved the jeans.
I seriously love the ethos and products and want to gradually replace my wardrobe with their items but as a distance seller they really need to sort out the numerous issues with quality control and returns that customers are telling them about repeatedly in reviews.
It really discourages me to order again when I know I will be out of pocket and have to go through a laborious returns process to either get clothing that fits or have my money refunded.
I was told that because I flagged up the incorrect sizing on my dress a whole batch had to be removed from sale. I suggest customers experiencing unexpected fits , do as I did and compare the actual measurements to the ones given on the website. Then buckle up for an extended wait for your money back, or exchange item to be sent out.
I am all for slow fashion, but not glacial. PLEASE sort this out CC and you will be the company your target audience is clamouring for.
EDIT I have now received my jeans which look great. please sort the returns and refund systems

The two items I kept from my order were okay, though I would say sizing is on the small side. Sizing issues meant I needed to return a pair of jeans and more than 14 days later the return has not been processed. They are not abiding by distance selling laws and customer service are full of excuses when you contact them. Given they are an online only company, they really need to get returns right and I see this has been an issue at CC for several months. Customers should not be out of pocket for weeks while waiting for their refunds or have to repeatedly chase up a retailer who owes them money. I’d like to support companies like this but won’t order from CC again.

I’m really disappointed with my first (and likely last) experience shopping with CC.
I spent over £200 on my first order and got free delivery — so far, so good. But both pairs of jeans didn’t fit well, so I had to return them. That return cost me £14 at the post office due to their weight, and then CC deducted £2.95 from my refund for the original shipping.
So in the end, it cost me nearly £17 just to try their products — even though I sent everything back in perfect condition. For an online-only retailer with no physical stores or sales staff, this return policy feels completely out of step with what competitors offer (most of whom provide free returns).
Yes, the policy is on their website, but let’s be honest — the vast majority of customers don’t expect to pay this much just to test sizing or fit. It’s a terrible experience for a first-time customer, and I’d caution anyone considering a purchase.
Make sure you read the fine print — or better yet, shop somewhere with a more customer-friendly returns policy.
Clothes are ridiculously small for their stated size. Only way to contact the company is via email, which just goes down a black hole, no response whatsoever. I'll be reversing the credit card charge, they can collect the clothes if they want.
UPDATE:
They got in touch with me after posting this review, saying I've not sent the items back yet. I was meant to get a return reference which never came, so of course didn't send them back.
So presumably they'll now take their own sweet time responding to my reply.
If CC read this before my email: I will send the items back and then just raise a section 75 against you to get my money back.

Really lovely, simple, high quality clothing.
Bought some black t-shirts and was really impressed by the quality. The fabric is great and the garments are well constructed with lovely, simple styling. Have previously bought a pair of chinos, camerawoman trousers and 2 linen dresses. Quality of all of the items has been excellent and what you would expect at a much higher price point. Agree with other reviewers that you need to Iook carefully at the sizing guide measurements when ordering. Really love this company's very genuine ethos and will definitely buy from them again.

I recently returned an item to Community Clothing in perfect condition, only to be informed that it was “covered in dog hair” and therefore ineligible for a refund. This was entirely false, as I do not own a dog, nor any other pet. When I challenged their claim and requested photographic evidence, my emails were ignored. It was only after persistent follow-ups that they reluctantly agreed to process a full refund—without ever providing the proof they initially cited.
A professional customer service team would acknowledge mistakes, communicate transparently, and prioritise the customer experience. Instead, Community Clothing chose to falsely accuse me, refuse reasonable requests for evidence, and only backtrack once they realised I wouldn’t simply accept their poor excuse.
If their idea of a fair returns process is to make baseless accusations and hope customers give up, they are sorely mistaken. I would advise anyone considering a purchase from them to think twice—unless you’re prepared for a Kafkaesque ordeal over something as simple as a return.
Bought indigo bootcut for a holiday, nice quality BUT colour transferred to beige shoes and jacket. Refused to compensate instead was directed to the 'care' instructions on website ie washing not wearing, told to use Google to find out how to clean affected items and advised not to wear them with trainers. Shocking.
I have purchased one chore jacket, three pairs of trousers, and a couple of other items. The quality of the clothes has been impressive, and clearly of much better quality than much of the scrappy tat available elsewhere. My experience of the customer service has been excellent.

Recently purchased men's moleskin jeans. Great quality and fit, great for colder days. I've purchased from Community Clothing for several years, coats to cotton tee's, always high quality material that lasts ages.

Thank you again. Excellent trousers (second pair) and great socks and knitwear. Have bought quite a bit over the last few years and the clothes are consistently really well made, from very great, honest, quality materials. They wash and wear incredibly well unlike so many other brands of a similar price point so thank you.
And to also mention your customer service, they've been excellent. Super impressed for an on-line, independent business. All the best for 2025.

Mens Lambswool Crew Neck Sweater
Usual excellent quality I’ve come to expect from Community Clothing. Better than some other brands that are twice the price. Really helpful Customer Service Team if you have any queries.
