Crayford Branch

Crayford Branch - I have been taking my kitten to the vet for jabs, check ups and general needs.

The reception staff here are really friendly, listen and always do there best to assist.

I've had 3 different vets here and they've all been brilliant. The whole staffing team really do a fantastic job there.
On one occasion I showed up a day early for my kittens jabs and they still managed to fit me in. I was only waiting 5 minutes.

The cost also is a reasonable price and in all I'm very happy with the service here.

Really Disappointed with the service we are receiving at BASINGSTOKE branch. I am on a care plan, this seems to change everytime I visit the Vet, just so that they can get more money out of us. Seems like the reception staff make it up as they go, they don’t seems trained well enough and lack effective communication. They can definitely be a bit more friendlier and helpful. I am considering moving Vets, its not a pleasure going to the Vets when you know what is waiting for you.

They are a money grabbing profeteering…

They are a money grabbing profeteering faceless organisation and should probably be investigated by an official body. We are looking for a new vet after 4 years of punishment.
Do yourselves a favour and support your local independent vets and stop organisations like these taking them over. Horrible profiteering company.

Money grabbers, not pet carers

I've had my dog registered with these vets since she was 8 weeks old, so 3 and a half years now. Never needed them, have paid for their package for flee, worm and vaccinations etc also for the same amount of time. They asked me if I would like to have my dog tested for brucella caniis, as we took our pet abroad a couple of years ago. This is not government policy and is apparently a new internal advisement, my dog doesn't go near other dogs and is well looked after. I declined the advice. Now I have been informed that they have cancelled our plan and any veterinary services. This test is at a cost of £160, their advice is for imported dogs and I see this as a waste of money or as a way for the practice to try and make more money. My dog is not imported! She was born here and lives here and this is simply a rouse to try and make money. If there was any government, border control legislation we would have had this done but as we took her away nearly 2 years ago, it doesn't make any sense. The reception staff don't know why we have been cancelled and apparently the only person that does know is on holiday and I have no one I can speak with for another week or 2. They are so matter of fact and have no Care foe animals, distrusted, let down and just proves they're in it for money. Stay away from this group. Should be called financial care for vets!

They should take the word "care" out of…

They should take the word "care" out of Companion Care!

Our Yorkshire Terrier was brought to the practice in April due to blood in his urine. We were seen by Pavel, who performed a physical examination, 2 urinalysis, a blood test, and ultrasound. Pavel incorrectly diagnosed our dog with bladder stones and recommended surgery to remove them.

During surgery, Pavel discovered that it was not bladder stones, but rather a large tumour.

Pavel had confidently assured us it was bladder stones. He even showed us pictures from the scan to explain the stones. Pavel proceeded with surgery without knowing what he was going to find. I feel this put our dogs life at risk. I was even asked on the phone during the surgery "how much of the tumour do you want me to take off"?!

We are so disappointed with the level of care that we received. Pavel did not listen to our any of our concerns and was dismissive of our questions. When questioned as to why he didn't know the difference between stones and a tumour, he was incredibly rude and tried to turn it on us for. Unbelievable.

I would not recommend Companion Care to anyone. Please go find a better vet for your pet!

This is a money making organisation…

This is a money making organisation only...They do not care about your loved ones. Hands down worst vet I've visited in my life. If you are going thinking it's a reputable company forget it. When they are negligent or incompetent and you challenge them, no lie is too outrageous for them. Head office? Not interested... all practice's operate under name only will be thier reply...but this is not a burger bar franchise ..these are people who you entrust with your loved ones health..one of the vets was practically rolling his eyes when we walked in.. clearly he is sick of his job..salford companion care..

Daylight robbery

I have to be honest the vet was fantastic and certainly took care of my dog. The downside to the branch at pets at home in Kidderminster is the lack of care and compassion from some of the staff. 3 visits now I walk in with a price and come out paying more which I hear I am not the first. This Saturday I paid £174 for consultation and tablets, but today because I told them I am putting a claim in at the time they call me Wednesday to tell me I need to pay £15 for the vet to validate my claim. They say it’s because of a cost of living crisis and it is nothing more than daylight robbery. They say notices are up but I saw none. For me they certainly do not care about animals anymore, just about making money. They say they have to pay someone to validate claims, well they must be earning £100000 a year with all these charges.

Bella

Bella has been registered with Companion Care- Bristol, Filton since 2018. Bella flits between Chepstow and Pembrokeshire depending on who is caring for her. She mainly stays in Pembroke now because of her allergies and reaction to grass, seeds etc.(they have a paved garden) I researched and read the reviews about local vets by "googling" when I first moved here. Paul Guckian and his team at the time, suggested to me that Bella and Baily(deceased) would be in good hands. Bailey passed away on the 21 May 2022 . We had gone for a consult (Pryia) and it was discovered that he had some kind of mass. He was a Boxer and 10 years old. He was referred to an OOO practice where unfortunately it was discussed/ decided that he should be PTS. Companion Care when informed sent a lovely card and some "forget me not seeds" It felt heartfelt and not just a gesture. A few months later my nieces cat Diago (16+ )who was staying with me, passed away in the night. My first thought for advice was Companion Care - Bristol Filton they were extremely helpful and sympathetic (sorry I cant remember their names) and invited me to bring Diago to them. They arranged a cremation and again sent a beautiful card and "forget me not seeds" I have only met Paul a couple of times but I am confident in saying, that he runs a great team. I feel confident that should an emergency occur with Bella while she is visiting me here in Chepstow, Paul and his team will be on hand. There are several vet practices nearer to me but "reviews and word of mouth" were much more important to me and my pets.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. I paid £1300 for my French bulldog only for them to give treatment and small op on his leg and then make it worse by bandaging too tight. I made them aware its tight but they said it needs to be that tight, 5 hours later his foot was HUGE swollen. They gave me another vet so we persisted but with caution. Then recently my other dog a jack russell had a sore ear. They sent off a sample and gave steriod drops and told me they would call in 3 days. I called 7 days later for results and they confirmed there the correct drops. We have now finished the course my dog is in same position however the ear is now bleeding too. After paying £360 for the visit and drops understandably I didn't wany to pay again as they assured me the first time. They now want me to repay them 🤣they are quite literally laughable and a joke of a vets my poor dog is still suffering I won't be going back and will be reporting redhill branch they clearly have no clue!

Hopeless in every way

The most appalling failure of basic note keeping - the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing - I took time out today to try to speak to the centre manager who is incapable of understanding a case when put forward - dismal failure on all counts. So many poor reviews, I can see why.

Second review im posting due to the…

Second review im posting due to the lack of empathy, organisation skills of the staff in this company.
As mentioned previously, my kitten was pooping blood and they rescheduled my appointment 5 days after what it was meant to be. I called another practice and they gave me an appointment straight away, they also took amazing care of my kitten, taking their time and checking him properly, at Companion Care the vet which was a woman was manhandling my 6 month old kitten and didnt even bother to check his ears, teeth, eyes. I switched to GoVets and the vet in there took over an hour checking him, explaining the medicines and overall giving an amazing service. If you've been scammed by this company asking you to give £40 deposit to be able to make an appointment, i highly recommend switching to GoVets where they actually care about your pet and don't ask for upfront payments.
Do your pet a favour and take them anywhere else but here.
Absolutely disgusting service.

Basingstoke

Basingstoke. I have been using this vet for years and have never had any problems. This week my darling Shih Tsu had to put to sleep as a result of multiple tumours. They were kind, compassionate and very caring. I would absolutely recommend this vet, in particular Trisha.

New Malden Branch.

New Malden Branch.
Avoid at all cost!!!!
It’s all about money for them.
Our dog was In a RTA. He had an X-ray which showed no broken bones. Then an ultra sound which I was told by one vet showed an enlarged gall bladder. Another vet said it showed enlarged liver. Recommended we take him to a specialist unit in Winchester for a deeper scan. It would’ve cost 2.5k to have a consultation and examination! When we declined this, we were told that he could have a more thorough scan by a vet who only worked with them one day a month…starting cost £500. Again we declined…thankfully our dog is now back to full health without their unnecessary treatment.
It gets worse…they submitted 2 (instead of 1) claims to our insurers, meaning we would have to pay 2 excess fees. Plus they added £103.00 for tablets that were not given to our dog! Over the past 2 weeks we have repeatedly phoned/emailed them to rectify their submissions to our insurers, they haven’t done so. We are £800.00 down waiting for them to do the right thing. In fact, their admin woman Joolz told us on the phone that they are too busy to contact us, we’d have to wait. So we contacted their client response team who said their area manager would investigate…..again, no contact/response. Six weeks later we’re still waiting for our claim to be paid.
Complete shambles!!!!

Bloody crooks

They told me my pet needed dental work totally £300+. That was in 2020. I took him to the PDSA and they said he's fine. He's NEVER had a problem with this teeth up to now. I even took him back there since and nothing was said!! Bloody crooks!

Opening times

The opening times to the vet are completely in correct, I arrived at the vet 25minuets before closing and the place was already closed, completely incompetent! This is the first bad experience with this vet!

Upselling things I don't need. Adding £40 charges. Doesn't answer the phone...

They've been.... OK... in the past... seemed a bit money grubbing when they tried upselling things like bloodwork when it obviously isn't required.

NOW... they have added a new £40 'deposit' to book an appointment on the basis that many people have not attended their appointment. It's not really a deposit though because they don't give it back....

So now there's a £40 charge any time I would need to see the vet. On top of that they've increased the cost of their monthly plan.

All of this... and they can't even answer the phone. I rang 10 TIMES over 30 minutes and no one answered.

I will be cancelling my monthly plans and changing vet. I imagine others will as well.
