best care you can get
never a problem for the team, especially Sonjia (sorry if I mispelt your name) to give your pet the best of care, I have nothing but praise for the entire Hemel Hempstead, for their care of both our dogs over the last few years, and their dedication & passion
Disappointed…
Feel very let down by recent visit to this practice.Took my cat for routine, yearly cat flu and check-up.Turned up on time for appointment,1hr later still waiting to be seen.No communication off receptionist or nurses who were on duty. The waiting area was full with people with cats, dogs and other small animals.Vet eventually came out to say that they had had some emergencies to contend with.I was told to wait even longer and then vet proceeded on talking to another customer about treatment on their animal, even though i was first in line.Walked out in disgust. Will never use them again.
Your pet deserves better….
Companion Care in Salford cancelled my emergency appointment, verbally arguing with me that I called up myself and cancelled it even after I said I didn’t and it’s not possible. They then told me that all they would do is triage my cat (it’s actually a miniature schnauzer puppy but they kept referring to her as a cat) and send me to their out of hours surgery, their out of hours surgery is VETS NOW and whilst they were really pleasant on the phone, the first thing they say is that their charges are much higher if I go there. Luckily I was also registered at Animal Trust, they saw my puppy straight away, diagnosed her with closed Pyometra and operated on her that same afternoon. There’s a fair chance my puppy would be dead if I hadn’t have found an alternative vets.
Weston super mare branch appalling customer service/management
Weston super mare branch, similar experience to another complainant, asked to see different vet to the one offered as wanted second opinion following previous appt same condition proposed same vet, was advised to change practice following interrogation by receptionist. Letter from practice manager literally appalling, zero customer service, zero respect, zero goodwill. If this is how they treat loyal customers, my loyalty lies elsewhere!

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD PRACTICE!!
I have been with companion care hemel Hempstead for almost 7 years and have had 2 sickly cats that they have taken the best of care. They have coped not only with their complex conditions but their neurorotic owner too. John who runs the practice has been a fantastic support with one of my cats constant issues over the years and Charlotte another Vet has spent so much time trying to find the best treatment to help keep my eldely boy pain free and as healthy and happy as possible more recently, nothing is too much work for them. ALL the staff, front and back are so kind and friendly and go out of their way to be supportive and patient with me and my scaredy cats, I am determined that one day they will get the recognition they deserve and get pet plan vet practice of the year!! I honestly can't thank them All enough for all there kindness, care and support over the years, my furbabies thank you ALL too!!
Awful Place - Refused Pet Treatment
. Ever since I joined the vets - I have been subjected to rude reception staff. Every time I come I have had to wait 20+ minutes to see anyone despite having an appointment. I brought my dog in today to see the vet following emergency care last night and I was kept waiting over 20 minutes - despite saying I was in hurry. I was told that my dog needed exploratory work doing and that I would be called this evening with a quote and book in for the next available appointment. I was called by the practice manager who I expressed my lack of satisfaction with the service I had received. She then refused to book my pet in for the exploratory work he needs. She has left him in pain and has indicated that I need to go elsewhere!!!!
Great experience
Great experience of the vet and knowledge of part of my dogs breed. (Unusual cross breed)
The dog loved her experience and I don't think I will have any problem getting her to go back.

Absolutely horrendous place in waiting…
Absolutely horrendous place in waiting time. My pet has had 3 appointments cancelled and no follow up to arrange another date. Make sure you are on time for your appointment otherwise you will be waiting over 2 hours to be seen for a 10 minute delay in unforeseen circumstances. Absolutely a joke of a place.
Been with companion care for 10 years…
Been with companion care for 10 years for cat, dogs and hamsters. Never had an issue, always caring on the phone and supportive when seen. Saved my pups life with two operations and follow on treatment, helped to contact and sort out the insurance for all costs. Saw my cats and kittens over the years with professionalism and reassurance, costs were lower than my previous vets. Have given great advice over the telephone with hamsters and fish and put meds out without charging. I can not fault the service. I have recommended to family and friends who are just as happy with the service as myself. Recently took my youngest pup with a bad leg and received wonderful care. Yes it cost but no more than any other vet. Follow up care today has been very supportive. So sad to read so many complaints.
All round excellence!
Always 1st class attention and advice for our 2 Ridgebacks at Winnersh practice - young but very skilled vets in attendance, always polite, explain treatments in full detail, genuine kindness and sympathy when dealing with our dogs and only seem to give valid treatments and save us money where they can. Appointments always available at short notice.
My #1 review of the Companion Care…
My #1 review of the Companion Care (Services) Limited company (aka "Companioncare" - website companioncare.co.uk) on the Trust Pilot website rating "1 star: Bad – unacceptable experience, unreasonable conduct."
On today Monday, 13 December 2021, at 17:25 and at 17:30, I have phoned the following 2 offices of the Companion Care (Services) Limited company:-
(1) Companion Care vet clinic, Chingford, London
(1A) - They have informed me that the earliest available date for vet appointments (i.e. for non emergencies / i.e. for a general health check of my cat) is the middle of January 2022 (i.e. from 11 Jan 2022).
(1B) - They have informed me that the reason they are unable to offer any vet appointments for circa 1 month from today, 13 December 2021, is because they have only 1 vet surgeon on duty.
(2) Companion Care vet clinic, Swindon (HQ)
(2A) - They have informed me that the reason they are unable to offer any vet appointments for circa 1 month from today, 13 December 2021, is because of the COVID-19) pandemic.
(2B) - They have said that I can phone any one of the circa 450 other Companion Care vet clinics in the UK, in reply to my question "what is the other vet clinic" (apart from the Companion Care vet clinic, Chingford, London) "nearest to my home address?"
(2C) They have refused to answer my question at (2B) and they have said abruptly and rudely that they will end my phone call.
NB: According to my records, verbal, written and recorded, I was polite and brief. I have asked my simple questions, which have merited their simple answers, which they either could not or would not provide.
Follow-up on the previous review
Follow-up on the previous review.
After a number of visits and months of our concerns being belittled by the vet, our loved cat (12years old) has finally been diagnosed with a collapsed lung and a 15cm growth seen in her lungs and surrounding lymph nodes. What did it take to get any recognition that she is not well - her weight dwindling to a shocking 1.8kg, one lung collapsed, 1.5cm tumour in one lung and enlarged lymph nodes suggesting spread of the cancer. This practice should be ashamed.
The staff are most unhelpful and rude
Only interested in profits not animal welfare!!
ASHFORD KENT Branch
Not interested in the welfare of your pets it’s just about the money! I took my dog to get his leg stitched as he had a cut from flint and they quoted £450-£520 which I thought was expensive but was willing to pay the price, once he had been sedated and stitched I got him home with a collar on antibiotics painkillers and had him indoors no exercise at all but within 30hours these stitches had broken!! I phoned the vets and went back for them to tell me that it’s healed enough and doesn’t require to be stitched again? Just put honey on it. I clearly wasn’t happy and didn’t agree as it’s an open wound prone to infection due to being near the dogs feet and a day ago they said it needed stitches!
The man who apparently is the owner of the practice came into speak with me and from the off set was rude argumentative and arrogant, asking me am I a vet did I train for years what do I know? Completely patronising and totally unacceptable way to talk to a paying customer. I got told if I want it done again I’ll be paying the same money again! So I decided to take my 3 dogs off the books and walk away but I will be taking this further as I don’t think the stitches were adequate, never going to serve there purpose and never going to stay in from the off let alone 28 day period! Extortion and daylight robbery comes to mind! I was polite throughout but definitely would stay clear of this practice as they clearly need a bit more PRACTICE!!
Would not recommend!
Would not recommend! Massive profit making and lack of care for your pet. Read everyone’s comments before choosing this vets.
Charge you for check ups and my new vets doesn’t charge me anything. They took my cat in for a dental procedure to have teeth out and they only did half a job because they ‘ran out of time’. I escalated this further because I was disgusted with how my cat was treated. It was rushed and she was shaken up. They then told me it was because it wasn’t healthy for my cat to have a full procedure… My new vets did her procedure in one sitting and my cat is completely healthy and she is absolutely fine! They just clearly wanted to charge me twice and make more money to bring her back in! Overall worst experience and I would hate for anyone to have this experience because even if you take it further they don’t care!
Peterborough branch -Liars!!!
They give your pets medication they don't need, they lie in their reports about what they told you in the consultation and when you complain what they're doing isn't helping they tell you to go to a specialist vet. Why are they treating animals they don't specialise in? Why are they prescribing medicine my pet doesn't need? They tell me he doesn't have an infection but prescribe him 3 lots of antibiotics anyway. I lodged a complaint and they tried to blame me by saying they can only go by what I say and I told them my pet had breathing trouble. They're the vets, not me. If I told them he had a broken leg and he didn't they would soon correct me!!! He does have breathing problems, he has laboured breathing, they just don't know what it is so rather than say that they just con me out of a lot of money before telling me they can't treat him. I have 10 different pets in total and I would never take a single one of them back to that vets.
Have a sick cat
Have a sick cat, he is struggling to move and vet refused to see him. Useless.
Appointment times are always a guide
Appointment times are always a guide. Had an appointment at 12.10 and was eventually seen at 12.45 it was the sam last year and the year before. Fortunately I only go once a year. This year the annual jab for my dog has gone up by £12. It’s a money making machine.
