Never used this branch-Northampton

Never used this branch. Our dog was seen for a persistent dog and three weeks later was dead. The vet on three occasions discussed the possibility of a heart condition but was confident it was bronchitis so proceeded to treat for this condition. On our third and final visit I suggested doing X-rays and bloods to obtain a confirm diagnosis and was informed not to worry as he felt it was bronchitis and not much would show up on the tests. We were prescribed new medication without being given any side effects. We gave one tablet to our beloved dog and within 24hours he had passed away. I requested the medical notes and to my horror there was no mention of a posse heart condition or my request for further tests. I googled the medication prescribed and it was not suitable for a dog with a heart condition. We were informed by the emergency vet in our dogs last moments that they suspected our dog has a heart condition called DCM. Heart broken, he was 6 years old. We put in a complaint and they have dismissed everything, even saying that the vet doesn't remember speaking about tests! I will forever be disappointed with myself for not getting a second opinion and for trusting the vet.

I took my cat to the vet

I took my cat to the vet - Salford branch because she kept shaking head and trying to scratch.. i kept cleaning wax from ears. When the Vet (Alex) looked in her ear with otoscope said nothing inside... clean. wanted to give her antihistamine without checking (under the microscope ) if there was ear mite. I said no... cam home it continued.. i complained took another appointment- asked for a differnt vet. Antonio gave her ear cleaning and anti-biotic solutions. the bill was £97.37 when with one of the solutions costing 50.37.. i checked on web for the charges.. it normally costs around between 12-32 pounds. i was charged double or more.. which I have queried and waiting for a response.. they also charged me for looking at the cat for a second time.. which they should have done for free. A total sham. I am waiting for a reply and if not I shall take the case forward.

Not great at the crucial moments …

Our dogs have been under the Bolton branch for a long time. There are a number of things that are below par about them, but the worst is that whilst other vets are doing house visits, they’re not. Our dog is in his last hours and we’ve had to arrange a house visit for euthanasia with a different vet. Previously, we lost a dog at 8 years old - took her CC because she was losing weight. The vet basically said ‘nothing to worry about’, 2 weeks later the dog collapsed and died. It’s the end of our journey with Companion Care - an independent, less dogmatic vet is needed, particularly at the moment.

PETERBOROUGH BRANCH

PETERBOROUGH BRANCH - lodged a complaint with the branch manager regarding a rude receptionist and the reply I got from him was just as bad. Escalated the complaint to Head Office who sent the complaint back to the Branch Manager. Cue another rude email that basically called me a liar and told me to take my pet elsewhere in the future! Nice! Called Head Office and they said the vet was within his right to talk to me however he wanted. Whole situation could have been avoided with a simple apology. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE TRASH!

Huddersfield branch- waste of time

Huddersfield branch-
1st appointment for vaccinations was waiting 1/12 hrs.
2nd appointment Booked rabbit in to get spayed. Dropped off at 9:30am. Phoned at 2pm rabbit not done told to ring back at 4pm. Rang back at 4pm said they had not had time to do the op and to collect. Next appointment available was 5 weeks away.
3rd appointment rabbit was booked in for 9:15am. Dropped rabbit off told to ring at 2pm for an update. Rang at 2pm told to ring at 4pm. Rang at 4pm told they haven’t had time to do the op and collect the rabbit.
This is the worst place I have ever come across for customer service. Avoid at all costs.

Ashford pets at home branch

Ashford pets at home branch. Terrible all round service from reception to so called VETS!!!! I have been a customer since this branch opened and always paid on time . I fell in financial hard times and my dog needed a op apparently that cost at least £1000 and they wouldn’t come to a payment plan with me and my dog had cancer. Money money money !!! No care for pets even when my 13 lab had to be put down I had to leave the room to pay before they would do it ! DISGUSTING

MONEY MONEY MONEY..

MONEY MONEY MONEY... that's all they care about, They keep trying to make you book unnecessary appointments at £45 a shot pretexting that they are follow ups. Each follow up lasts about 5 min... or less then you have to make your way to the till and pay £45. They sell you treatments that are not needed. Like I was told my dog will be prone to arthritis when he is old (he is only 4yo ands super fit) so he should have those swimming courses now... All those 'vets' are trained to milk customers and make as much money as possible off our pets. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Good experiences here.

Sorry to see so many poor experiences reported. Pets are so important.
I logged on today to report how well the Northampton branch have looked after my cats while I have been living in the town. Good care, always have time for you and prices lower than some others in the town.

Really poor customer service

Really poor customer service. Always wait at least half an hour for every appointment. Scheduled appointments often changed at the last moment. Staff very defensive and unapologetic. Seem more interested in profit than customer care!!! My advice would be to avoid and go elsewhere.

Rip off merchants AVOID at all costs

Shame I cant give Scarborough branch no stars .Four months ago one of my dogs needed teeth scaling and cleaning £149. This month June 2021quoted £572 plus extra if needed an extraction !!! Rang three local vets who all quoted £250 plus £50 for an extraction. After being with companion Care for ten plus years I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Trying to enrol with a local vet but they are full at the moment as swamped with Companion Care clients trying to join them.

This vet is terrible

This vet is terrible! They don't know what their talking about. The receptionists are rude and don't know how to answer any questions. They are very unhelpful. You cant even ask questions without having to pay £45. £45 for a simple question about the medication I have bought from them! I understand to be seen but even if you want to ask questions on the phone you have to pay £45. It's a joke I do not recommend them at all. The receptionist was trying to get rid of me when I was asking questions about the medication saying I have a queue of other people I don't know the answer I'm not a vet and when I asked her to ask the vet for me she said our vets are busy.

Go elsewhere!!! Awful service.

Shocking

Shocking, I took my spaniel,it was an emergency, he had lost the use of his back legs, I had to pay extra for an emergency then I still had to sit and wait for an appointment, he soiled himself and I had to clear it up whilst trying to keep him calm, he had to be put to sleep and I couldn't have my husband or daughter with me, I wanted s paw print done, they said they had to order the print pad, so they would keep him there for a couple of days to do this before he goes off to be cremated, I had to ring and go in four times, upset thinking he was still in their freezer, I was beginning to believe if it would really be my dogs print if they would just send him off , 3 weeks later I finally got the paw print, not a very compassionate experience.

Huddersfield - always a great experience

This is for the Hudderfield branch in pets at home. Always had amazing service with them. The vets are lovely and manage to calm both my very nervous cats! The receptionists are so helpful and will often give advice over the phone if you're not sure what to do about an issue. The nurses are fantastic and I'm glad my pets are registered there. I know they will always go above and beyond for each animal.

Thank you, Companion Care Aylesbury

Companion Care Aylesbury- We had to have our beloved elderly cat put to sleep today due to an aggressive and inoperable tumour. There were some special circumstances surrounding this event which meant that it could have been very traumatic and difficult but thanks to Oliver, the marvellous vet, it all went as peacefully and painlessly as we could have wished for her. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he took time and care to make sure that we were reassured at every stage and that every question was answered. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this compassionate and knowledgeable veterinary practice.

Absolutely shambles.

Absolutely shambles, they do not deserve to be called vets . I took my puppy to them as he really wasn't well and all they offered me was dog food to make him better . They didn't deem him as a seriously unwell dog . I took him for a 2nd opinion under an hour later as I wasn't happy with there service and he was hospitalised immediately. He has now been in a critical 24hr care unit for 4 days . I expressed my deepest concerns to them about my dog and they were more interested in making money from dog food than actually treating my poor baby . They should be ashamed of themselves , they have no compassion toward the care of animals

Something is not right here

Something is not right here, most star rating one then a couple at five. The reviews need further analysis.
My concern is that the practice's pricing is not transparent. It is also expensive compared to other vets.
