We cannot recommend Ellie Smith at Competa Properties highly enough.

From the very beginning of our search for a home in Cómpeta, Ellie was professional and exceptionally knowledgeable. She has a real technical understanding of how Spanish homes function — from irrigation and plumbing to solar systems and wells — and she knows the local property market inside out. Not only did she take us to visit countless properties, but she navigated the country roads and dirt tracks like the back of her hand. She was completely dedicated to helping us find the right property, spending days driving us around and ensuring we saw every suitable option. She listened carefully to what we were looking for and ultimately found us a home that perfectly matched our needs — something we are absolutely delighted with.

What truly sets Ellie apart is the support she provides throughout the entire process. Buying a property abroad can feel overwhelming at times, but she guided us every step of the way. She was always available to answer questions, clearly explain procedures, and ensure everything moved forward smoothly. Her communication was excellent, and we always felt confident that we were in safe hands.

Ellie was exceptional. She has a wealth of knowledge of the areas we were looking at to buy our home. Ellie kept us informed and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. She went above and beyond in helping us with our property purchase.

We brought a property through Competa Properties in Torrox, a town house in the Pueblo. What a fantastic service Harry at Competa Properties has given us. Kept us up to date every step of the way and made the process so much easier. We were not there for completion but Harry has also agreed to help us regarding collecting keys etc, so many Thanks Harry.

I can’t speak highly enough of this company. Not only did they help us find and buy a property, but have looked after our needs post sale. I find this refreshing! We were very happy with the service of Competa Properties. Even when it was difficult for them to manage a specific date and time for an appointment, they found a way to our satisfaction. Especially Harry was a big help for us. We came many times to the house when the owner was not there, but every time he came with a smile on his face.

We contacted Competa Properties enquiring about some properties we wanted to look at . As soon as we got a reply from Ellie, we knew we were in good hands. Buying a holiday home in Spain was only a dream to us and we had no idea where to start. After searching properties online we made contact (randomly) with Competa Properties and we’re so glad we did. Our Cortijo in Andalusia has been looked after, rented and maintained by Cómpeta Properties for over 10 years. And always with a lot of commitment and professionalism. The boss also goes out on a Saturday evening to repair a water leak. And there is no problem that Georgia cannot solve.

an exceptional agency, we have been renting since December 2022, and temporarily for children, always a very good welcome, good advice and serious service of very good quality. From past experience I have found the owner of Competa Properties to be very greedy and not very honest.

What do you do to secure your bond, when your lease is up and you leave competa properties. My assumption was that, if you left the property in clean and reasonable order, then whatever your bond paym ent was should be reimbursed to you.Unfortunately with competa properties, this is not always the case.
I would urge people to clarify exactly, what you need to do to get your bond returned to you and get it in writing.Dont trust this company to do the right thing
