Computer Repair Man (Devon) are arrogant, incompetent time-wasters
I have no issues with the overall UK-based Computer Repair Man team, as when I contacted them via their website ticket on 6th October, they sent me a text message quickly to say that their Devon rep, Richard Cleave, would be "in touch soon". They also gave me his email and phone nunber.
However, after a couple of days unsuccessfully waiting for Richard to contact me, I decided to telephone the provided number for him.
A different person named Callum answered the phone, and so I happily explained to him the issue with my computer (which they already knew about, as I had written about this a few days earlier on the Computer Repair Man website ticket).
Callum informed me that his and Richard's team operates as another business, called Moortek (in South Brent). So I can only guess that the Repair Man Computer UK-wide organization uses Moortek as its local firm across south Devon.
Callum also suggested that I send an email to his team explaining again what the issue was with my computer.
So I did this, using the Moortek support email account which Callum gave me.
(Within my email to Moortek, I wrote a 'TLDR' shorter version of the issue, as well as a fuller explanation of my predicament).
Despite doing this, I have never heard back (via phone, email or text from Richard Cleave or Callum) since 8th October.
It is now 1st November...
It is clear that the team's attitude to (potential) customers is disgusting to say the least.
They have had my initial website ticket explanation (Computer Repair Man website), 1 telephone call (with Callum, using Richard Cleave's given number), and 1 email again to Richard and Callum (as per Callum's suggestion).
It is clear that they like to waste people's time for no good reason.
And so, who knows what the service would actually have been like if the Computer Repair Man team (Devon) had taken my computer and tried to solve the problems?
I'll never know.
But given their amateur level of customer service, abysmal communication and their arrogant, contemptuous dismissal of (potential) customers's computer problems as'below them', I'm certainly thankful that I will never need to know.
I can only imagine that these incompetent jokers would have botched the job completely whilst being a nightmare to communicate with!!
(In the end, I managed to get my computer fixed elsewhere by a much more competent, serious and communicative company).
So as a warning to others, do yourselves a favour and avoid Computer Repair Man (Devon) rep Richard Cleave and his own company Moortek like the plague.
Jason listens - Jason delivers.
Jason listened to what I required by way of a new desk top computer with Windows 11 and any associated software setting it up so that it was straightforward to use without any 'unnecessary' distractions on screen - keep it simple. All delivered, set up and demonstrated. Thank you Jason.

Professional and efficient service
I had same issue as many people with PC not allowing upgrade from Windows 10 to 11.
After checking online decided to contact Computer Repair Man using their online form.
Subsequently was contacted by Tom who covers my local area. From the initial discussions Tom provided a professional and efficient service in picking up my PC from home, running diagnostics, explaining identified issues, recommending next steps (new vs refurbished PC) with no sales pressure to do either thing.
Decided on refurbished option and Tom arranged a full data transfer from my old PC to the new one. New PC then delivered to my home address. I had some initial ‘technical’ issues (user errors!) on set up but Tom made himself available to talk me through the required process to finalise my set-up.
Very happy with the service, information provided throughout and the personal approach provided by Tom and his team. Happily recommend.

Issue resolved immediately
Sam responded very promptly to my enquiry, and he came over to me to deal with an issue I thought I had with Windows, but he quickly reassured me that everything was ok and not to worry.
I much appreciated the pleasant manner in which he informed this old technophobe of the situation and therefore very relieved all is well with my pc (but feeling just a bit of an idiot for wasting his time and effort). Anyway, thank you again Sam!! :)

A+ Laptop Repair
I had a developing problem with my laptop which after an initial diagnosis, required a complete keyboard replacement. Tom and his team went to a great deal of trouble to locate a supplier within the UK, but due to lack of availability, finally managed to source the item from overseas.
I was kept fully informed at all stages of the process. Pick-up and return to my house were fast and efficient and when the keyboard ultimately arrived, they collected it, the work was carried out and the laptop returned to me in short order.
Costs are extremely fair and communications, at every stage, polite and well informed. I would have absolutely no hesitation in using them again and would recommend the Computer Repair Man to anyone requiring an A+ professional service in this area.

Issue not solved
I reached out to this company as my son is away at uni so too far away for me to help. Dan contacted me and collected my sons computer. He carried out various updates, removed some malware and activated windows 11 for him. Whilst my son has said his pc now runs more smoothly it has not solved the issue we had which was that when he plays a game his monitors switch off. I reached out to Dan again about this and have had no reply at all. Overall I have been left feeling disappointed and still have an issue to solve.

Great service!! 5 Star!!
I am very happy with the service. I originally took my computer to Currys PC World, but they were unable to fix it. However, Tom and his team got everything sorted. I’m especially pleased, as it’s a new laptop and I was really worried. So a huge thank you! I highly recommend them, great customer care and very friendly too. 5 Star!! Thanks again! :)

When you live alone!
When you live alone and get to a ‘certain’ age it can sometimes be a concern inviting someone unknown in to your home…or is that just me! Tbh I have had several scams of late.
I eventually asked Tom if he would take a look at my laptop. What a nice pleasant man he is.
He sorted my laptop quickly and he explained what was wrong and what he had done to fix it.
I needed to contact him again today as I had forgotten how to work something. He was in the area and called me to ask if he could come and take a look and see if he could show me what to do and where I was going wrong which he did and in a way i understood!
As he was leaving we were just chatting and as Tom’s grandma would say…putting the world to rights :)
I would 100% recommend Tom to anyone…
Thank you Tom for your knowledge help and kindness

Feels like Computer Repair man referred me to a cowboy
TLDR: Feels like Computer Repair Man referred me to a cowboy
I had a problem with the home PC and asked a Computer Repair Man firm (specifically BL IT Solutions) to come over and take a look. Looking very much as if they've stolen the PC for spare parts as they've had it for over 6 weeks, aren't returning it and aren't responding to emails.
Home visit on 11 August, unable to fix PC, took it away. Might be able to fix in a few days, might be longer if spare parts needed. Heard nothing more.
Asked for status update via email on 21 August. No reply.
Chased via email on 26 August. Got a response on 27th, promising to chase Dan following day. Heard no more.
Chased via email on 3 Sept. Same day response, promising to chase Dan. Heard no more.
Chased by email on 8 Sept. No response.
Chased on phone on 12 Sept. Told that Dan would call me back. He never did.
Formally chased on 14 Sept, demanding update within 7 days. Same day response saying PC can't be repaired and Dan has been trying to getting contact (he hasn't).
Called and emailed on 15 Sept asking when PC would be returned. Dan emailed back to say he'd try to return it on 15th or 16th. Heard no more. PC not returned. I want the PC returned so I can get someone else to look at it. Because with their attitude to customer service I wouldn't be surprised if they'd return it without attempting to repair it, knowing that they wouldn't be getting a great review even if they did fix it.
Chased by email on 18 Sept. No reply.
Chased by email on 22 Sept. No reply.
Tried calling on 24 and 25 September. Nobody answering the phone.
Reported them to trading standards on 25 September. Seeking help from Citizens Advice Bureau.
Edit: after seeing this review, CRM contacted BL IT Solutions, they got their act together and returned the PC. I briefly raised CRM to three stars. But then I saw that Ben Leach has commented on my review on Yell, disputing all the above facts, insisting that they'd been in regular contact.
So back to one star. CRM referred me to a cowboy. All those decent firms using this platform are tainted through no fault of their own. If CRM aren't going to clean the place out, then maybe those other firms should be looking for platforms that insist on higher standards.
Another edit: Ben's changed his response and us all apologies. Maybe he's seen the light. But BL IT and CRM still only get one star from me. Far too stressful an experience.
