I was looking for a good replacement for my previous laptop (MacBook Pro) that will run Linux without any issues. I know there are System76 laptops that are rebranded Clevo computers, but as I live in Europe I've chosen to order something locally. I decided to go with NovaCustom based on their ratings. Great laptop, great support (awsering all the pre buy questions)

Putting together a bare-bone laptop computer is not as easy as you might think. Fortunately, at the helm of NovaCustom is a friendly person who is ready to help.

The Clevo N141CU is a very nice and beautifully finished laptop computer that runs Linux smoothly.

Pros.
Very nice laptop computer, rigid and neat workmanship.
Energy efficient quiet and fast.
Colourful bright display with decent contrast.
Outstanding WiFi.

Cons.
Display shows some back-light bleeding on a black background in a dim environment.
Clevo does not take part in the "Linux Vendor Firmware Service" which means that a Linux user must update the bios manually. (This should be addressed.)

I found NovaCustom by chance while looking for a new laptop: I was able to custumize it the way I wanted, because I found more options here compared to other websites. The production & delivery time was also great, considering there's a global pandemic, I can only be pleased that there were no delays. Upon delivery I noticed the packaging was perfect, box inside another box for greater protection. Everything was in order & nothing missing, I received everything I ordered.
Now to the PC: The Clevo NH70RDQ 17.3 so far seems to be a beautiful machine, I like the looks of it & the lay out of keyboard & connections. I went for the version with 8gb ram - i5-9300H - Nvidia GeForce GTX-1050 with double OS, Zorin + Win 10. Both systems work flawlessy, good speed, no trouble at all. Just a word for gamers, since the gtx is maybe a midrange gpu (good money value I believe) & bearing in mind this is not after all a "Gaming laptop": I noticed that there are some differences between the 2 systems, with Windows being more efficient & complete with better resolution settings (I suppose this is due to the game - being designed for Windows). Nevertheless this laptop running on Zorin has everything I need.That's all....I highly reccommend Novacustom, I will definetly be back to their website to order my next PC, thanks!

I found the configuration pages on the website exceptionally comprehensive, and clear.. well thought out. But you probably know that already.

NovaCustom's pricing is very competitive, as well - I hunted around a *lot* before making a decision to order here.

I'm really glad I did choose NovaCustom. Wessel is responsive, honest, and friendly: this really feels like personal service. Assembly and delivery to the UK was fast, exactly as promised, and the laptop was packaged thoroughly.

I am very pleased with NovaCustom service and offer. Contrary to other vendors out there i was not obliged to buy an overpriced Win 10 nor obliged to buy a hard drive or memory modules. I was able to buy a barebone laptop and built it with some components i baught locally therefore builduing a brand new, hight end laptop for the cheapest price around. Also want to mention that NovaCustom client relation service was excellent all the way thru and helpfull. Lastly the delivery thru Ups was super fast to France, ordered on Monday, delivered on Thursday! I definitely recommend buying at NovaCustom. Thank you guys, keep it like that.

I was in the look for a Linux laptop and ended up in Nova Custom's website which attracted me in its simplicity yet concise content. Although there are quite few similar websites offering the same hardware (Clevo), I always prefer to support independent suppliers. Even though Nova Custom is based in a different country than where I reside, I communicated with Wessel prior my buy to clarify few questions I had. He replied fast and to the point which made my decision easier to buy from him.
Laptop arrived on time and for its price is a very fair deal. Wessel also helped with some other questions I had regarding setting up the laptop so I can highly recommend supporting and choosing him for your hardware acquisitions!

Wow, novacustom is the real deal!

I wanted to have the operating system POP!_OS, and asked Wessel about it. He told me that he installed it for me, but that the keyboard backlight doesn't work, while it would in Ubuntu. I then send him a link with a possible solution for the backlight under POP!_OS, and he got it working! Shipping to Austria in a few days.

I wasn't satisfied with POP!_OS, so I installed Kubuntu instead. However, I had some issues with the WIFI driver, and asked Wessel about it. He immediately send me some possible solutions, and some additional tips on how to make the battery last longer etc. - and all that the material he sent me worked!

Now I'm running a Clevo 151ZU with Kubuntu 18, and although I can't tell you yet how the laptop performs under extensive workloads, I can assure you that the customer service is extraordinary!

I wanted a custom laptop - first of all, because I had some spare parts from a previous laptop and second, because it is easier to customize a machine before buying it then searching for something that can be customized later on.

I was struggling to decide between three models, so I asked a bunch of questions to help the decision. I always had valuable information from support, so finally I bought the machine.

Later I had some problems installing Win10 on it (it could not find some drivers during installation...), I contacted support again, got my answers, everything works fine.

Really fantastic laptop and service. Added to this, the person I dealt with knew what he was talking about and was fantastic to deal with.

Really, I can’t sing their praises enough and eight months later I am still an extremely happy customer!

It was a risky purchase for me because I actually live in South America, the computer had to be delivered to Italy at a location I was staying during my trip, and the store is based on The Netherlands. Glad I trusted the reviews and the no-nonsense look of the site. It's been more than two weeks since I've had the laptop, which works gorgeously fast and was built really well. It survived countless hours of transportation and several flights. For a person who's into computers, likes substance over style and the possibility to modify a product already of great quality, NovaCustom is highly recommended. You can even use PayPal. I'd definitely buy from them again.
