I like the service provided. You have to know a fair amount about linux/networking/containerization, but when you do, their offering is very competitive. I like that they keep improving on themselves by adding tape backup options (10-day roll back) on top of snap-shots. The firewall addition is also much appreciated as an additional security layer on top of software/iptables.
CPU might not always be the fastest on the single core, but it's plenty for my needs

Lots of features, usually good prices, and a great dashboard for managing everything. I haven’t had much to do with customer service, but on the few occasions I did, the experience was only so-so. So, no 5 stars. Other than that, I’m pretty satisfied—I’ve been a customer for years.

Been using Contabo for a while now across multiple instances and it's become a default choice. The price-to-performance ratio is hard to argue with — tried a few alternatives at higher price points and they didn't consistently outperform on the basics like uptime and stability.
Nothing flashy about the service, which is fine. It does what a VPS should do reliably, and at this price that's more than enough to keep coming back.

Its a great experience, though the server sometimes shut down or having issue with remote desktop access. recent it went offline with no internet acess on PC. so please make sure that these technical errors should not be reoccur. thanks

The price quality ratio is good.
However, the default DNS server made my monitoring go haywire multiple times until I changed it to 1.1.1.1. Contabo also increases your price to the next tier every year or so and gives you the next tiers perk as “free upgrade”. I started with a VPS of 6 eu/month and am now at 18 eu or so.

Update:
Contabo responded to my review and even escalated the case to a QA Manager. However, this did not lead to any meaningful resolution.
After multiple exchanges, it became clear that the focus remained on offering upgrades or new contracts instead of addressing the core issue. No consideration was given to my situation as a long-term customer or the fact that I was previously advised to upgrade unnecessarily.
At this point, it feels more like damage control than genuine customer care.
My decision to leave stands.
After being a customer with Contabo for more than 10 years, this is the point where I’ve decided to leave.
Prices are suddenly increased by around 20%, with no consideration for long-term customers. New customers receive attractive deals, while loyal customers are simply expected to pay more. It feels like loyalty is being penalized rather than rewarded.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I was previously advised by Contabo to upgrade to a more expensive plan due to supposed server issues. Later, it turned out that this upgrade was not necessary at all. In other words, I was already paying more than needed — and now an additional price increase is added on top.
The “solutions” offered (such as upgrades or temporary add-ons) completely miss the point if you don’t need extra capacity. It feels like they are not listening to the customer, but instead pushing toward more expensive options.
Customer support is polite, but ultimately provides no real solution — only standard explanations about rising costs and AI-related demand.
For me, this makes one thing clear: loyalty is not valued here. On the contrary.
I will be moving my services to another provider where pricing actually reflects usage.

I am using contabo vps for around an year to host my personal VPN. It's been good so far. However, I am not fully satisfied with the speed I get from the VPN. I use it alone. That's why took a star away. Once my server was hacked and contabo notified me to reset it. No big deal as it's my personal VPN. I reset it and was able to keep my IP. But has to reset the VPN clients. Good service. Keep it up and keep improving.

I prepaid for a full year of VPS,
yet my server was disconnected due to a billing error on the provider's side.
Despite sending payment confirmation and multiple urgent messages, the server remained offline for over 5 days.
The issues:
❌ Unexpected charge for a service I had already requested to cancel
❌ Account flagged and VPS suspended due to their billing mistake
❌ No phone support or live chat for urgent cases
❌ Generic, delayed email responses while our service stayed down
❌ Critical project (educational platform) completely inaccessible
What I expected:
✅ Billing disputes resolved before suspending paid services
✅ Priority response for customers who have already paid
✅ Clear communication and a direct escalation path for emergencies
Final thoughts:
If you rely on your server for anything time-sensitive or business-critical, be aware: support responses can be slow, and billing issues may lead to immediate suspension, even when you've paid in advance. I hope they improve their urgent support process, but based on this experience,
I cannot recommend them for critical infrastructure.
