The steamboat at Skegness

We visited The steamboat at Skegness as part art of a Pemier inn deal.
The guy who greeted us was lovely, very friendly and he knew what he was doing, unfortunately I can’t remember his name. Our waitress Amanda was faultless, she was happy, pleasant and just generally a very nice person. We had a lovely meal and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Totally would recommend anyone to visit and we 100% would go back.
Breakfast was yummy too!

I do go here regularly and mostly the food is okay but went for the Sunday Roast and the beef was absolutely disgusting wouldn’t give it my dog! Disappointed. The nice waitress gave me a free dessert but that in my opinion make up for a poor main course. Definitely not be having another roast from this chain of restaurants,

Breakfast - cold and sausages raw. Run out of crumpets

Decided to try the breakfast at the Potters Arms in Harlow as this is just down the road from us.
We were very disappointed.
There were no crumpets available as they had run out. It was 7am in the morning, so it was hardly a sudden rush that had taken them all.
The fruit and yoghurts were nice and then we ordered the cooked breakfast. After which, I went to put the toast on (thinking it will take them longer to cook the breakfast than do the toast). A minute later, while I was waiting for the toast to pop up, the cooked breakfast came out. So, it had obviously been pre-prepared. The sausages looked totally pink and uncooked and the rest of it was cold. The only part which was actually very nice and not cold was the Black pudding. We had to ask to have the breakfast warmed up in the microwave.
It was a very disappointing experience and we wont be going back again.

the Honourable Pilot, Gillingham, seriously understaffed

We visited the Honourable Pilot for lunch today, it was very busy but it appeared that one young lady was doing everything. We ordered at the bar she took our order and then we went to the bar to get drinks and waited. Our food was delivered to our table whilst one of us was still waiting at the bar for slowly prepared drinks. It didn’t get any better. We ordered deserts and the wait for drinks began again. This time the coffee was cold so it needed to be returned.
For all this time we saw just the young girl, she took orders, she served, she was also the one at the bar serving drinks, then clearing tables.
This establishment was desperately understaffed!

A place best avoided!

We entered and waited for someone to show us to a table. After 5 minutes when no one came we just found a table ourselves. That should have been a red flag and we should have gone elsewhere. We sat for 20 minutes and someone came to take our drinks order. Another 25 minutes went by and no one came to take the food order. They obviously do not have enough staff on. We finally caught the attention of one of the waitresses and gave our order.

The food arrived and my fish and chips were delicious, though the mushy peas were dried out. However my partner ordered Lebanese Style Lamb Kofta & Flatbread. The menu states that it is served with chickpea & butterbean houmous, tzatziki, pickled red onions, cucumber, red pepper, tomato & mint salad & skin-on chips

It arrived with no chips. A bowl of chips was brought when it was pointed out. They were not skin-on chips - just bog standard frozen chips. Then we noticed there was no houmous, no pickled red onions, and no cucumber or red pepper. We called the waitress over once again and she said she would speak to the chef. She came back to say the chef said there was houmous. We pointed to the plate and asked her to show us. She went back to the kitchen and came back with houmous and said they had run out of picked red onions and cucumber and pepper! What a shambles!

A different waitress came with our bill and asked if we had enjoyed our meals. We pointed out the problem and without being asked she took the drinks off the bill and apologised. However this place is obviously badly run. We live in Bridlington and would have come regularly but they obviously just rely on passing hotel trade who aren't as bothered about the poor service.

A place best avoided I think. There are much nicer places to eat in Bridlington!

The longest wait ever

our server Katie was very professional and could not be faulted unlike the meal which was a miniscule miserable offering the only big thing was the humongous long wait for it perhaps it was the 33% discount that did it. It certainly wasn't the huge numbers being served.

Honourable Pilot, Gillingham

Visited the honourable pilot today, with my friend. We had a lovely meal freshly cooked and we really enjoyed the desserts too!! What really made a good impression was CHELSIE, they were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We didn't even get kicked out when we realised we had been talking for hours (long awaited catch up). As a customer service manager myself, service is all important in building good relationships with customers and CHELSIE was a superb example today. Thank you.

Cookhouse and Pub

Cookhouse and Pub, Folkestone

Having booked this venue, we were handed a long list of items that were not available on the restaurant menu upon arrival. The food we ordered was of poor quality and inedible. After leaving 75% of both our meals, the waitress asked if we had enjoyed our meal. Rather than embarrass her, I mentioned that the meal was of poor quality. She politely responded that the management had to go to a supermarket to buy the ingredients due to a supply chain issue.

Given the restaurant’s location, it is frequented by continental tourists. How embarrassing it is to think this is the quality of British food this restaurant is happy to serve. Restaurant managers should be ashamed of themselves
