Shipping things internationally for personal use is never easy. You did great on your end now if the box ever gets through customs, I’ll be quite happy.

Cool parcel served me well before but this round was bad customer service and a late package. I bought based on the deliver by date but turns out somewhere in small print it isn’t guaranteed. If I purchased direct with UPS it would have been guaranteed and a little cheaper but I liked cool parcels interface for customs better. The customer service just responded coldly like a child that there is not guarantee. Shopping around and not recommending anymore.

The package still did not leave US after 12 days! A regular post that costs $10 would go in 15-20 days and I paid $47 for a service that is taking forever!

This service saved about 30% compared to going direct to USPS or other parcel carriers.
The registration, etc online was fine, but for some reason the parcel was taxed upon entry to Japan, even though this was for moving so non-taxable on personal items. The coolparcel handler did not seem to connect this to the actual carrier, and did not respond when contacted about the situation.
Fortunately UPS handled the package, and in working directly with them it was cleared up very quickly, however this probably would not be the case in other countries as people tend to have a "not my problem" mentality.
Improved customer service and end-to-end followup improvements should be considered at coolparcel.
