Waited 5 hrs one day to gate an auto…

Waited 5 hrs one day to gate an auto insurance quote then 4 hrs the next day. I was told that they are done for today and will no longer take phone calls. I asked if I can be on a call back list or when was the best time to call back. I got a rude and raised voice answer that they only receive inbound calls between business hours. For me, no thanks, I will go to another insurer.

scammers

None of them seem to know what they’re doing. Each person tells you something different—the adjuster, the support team, all of them. It’s been three days since my accident and I still haven’t been able to get the rental car I’m eligible for. I’ve spent 40 minutes being transferred from one person to another. Please, go somewhere else. Don’t deal with this place.

It better for this company to tell…

It better for this company to tell people that they do not offer Auto Insurance anymore than keeping people on the for for more than 4 hours, i have been trying to get through the cooperators for over 5 days not but they never pick their calls. I woke up as early as 8AM today and i called them again at 9:05 AM, im still waiting on them it 1:15 pm now, this is ridiculous.

Premiums went up but there was an explanation

I wrote a review just 4 hours ago and gave it a "1". Baani Kahai, owner of Cooperators, Wilson Ave Branch called me after I had a rather angry call in to her office regarding the rate increases. Backstory is that I've been a client for a very, very long time and am now a retired senior on a fixed income. Well Baani is the type of person you want for your insurance, must say. She spent time with me, explaining everything about rates, what can be done and the fact that the OWNER called and spent time with me is something most insurance companies do not do anymore. I give you a "10" Baani and a thorough acknowledgement that you are an outstanding human being. Thank you for listening to me and helping me out. I so appreciate it. This branch is special... Susan

I was a loyal customer for 17 years

I was a loyal customer for 17 years. Rates went up every year although I never had a claim. This year I was asked to come in for a review because I have 2 pet goats. Tried to get me to insure my place as a farm lol. The manager here in Bridgewater is a real piece of work. All flash but no substance. I wish I could give zero stars. I got a much better deal with sonnet. Avoid this company.

Can't finish my insurance quote.

I've got a quote for car insurance spending 2 days on the phone, then the have been asked to call back in 5 days when all docs will be ready.
I've spent 5 more full days waiting for someone will pick up the phone and nothing. After 2 hours of waiting each time the call just drops and you have to call again to be placed in the queue again... Worst experience ever in my life. After couple of weeks I can't get my car insured. And they not deny, they just don't answer on the phone and don't answer on any emails.

Stay away from this company…

Stay away from this company cooperators. I have been with them since 1991. I didn't really have many claims with them. I had a break in my house few years ago and they covered nothing. Completely denied my claim. After paying premiums for the last 30 years. They are nothing but a headache to deal with. I begged them to change my adjustor from colin Bodley who is the worst. I opened the claim and few weeks later he closed my claim. In event if something happens they will not look after you. I felt very insecure being with this company even after paying premiums that I am not covered in event of fire. I changed my company today and so happy to get rid of them.

Do NOT go with Co-operators!!

I would NOT even give them 1 ⭐ BUT you have to give them at least 1 to do a review.

They are the worst company from their adjuster and my local office.

We had a fire at our home, 2022, NOT our fault, no fault electrical etc..YET they promised me lost rental income from tenants moving out due to the fire, storage fees, construction fence fees, portable toilet costs etc and I NEVER SAW 1 CENT of over $100,000.00 for these losses.

They NEVER provide a 1 page document for what to except, NO 1 pgr for gas, rental lost, all etc costs.

They do NOT tell you YOU have 2 years to complete the whole insurance settlement process.

They DO NOT tell you, you need to contact the contracting quote companies to review ALL THE MISSED items!!

The list is endless and my PTSD is still evident from their lack of proper business etiquette.
The WORST experience of my life!!!

There was NO TRUSTED advisor to guide me!!!!

PLEASE do not go with Co-operators!!!

Unfortunately it really seems all these insurance companies are ALL THE SAME, in it for themselves.

Some day may they all reap their deceive karma.

Has anyone had success suing an insurance company??

P.s. This all happened between 2022 and 2024 BUT I cannot select those dates below, it keeps going to June 2025.

I’ve acquired a new vehicle and was needing car insurance. I’ve been calling everyday for a week, and been put on waiting 7h each day, and after trying to reach them by email, they suggested that i need to look for another insurance.

0 proficiency, 0 service, I don’t recommend wasting your time with them!

I took a day from work today just to call and have a quote for car insurance but I really had a bad experience that would say to everyone not to waste time on these people as they don’t respond to the call after waiting for 4 hours and it’s not only today I called them before as well with no response. I am really disappointed and angry at the same time.

If I could leave 0 stars I would

If I could leave 0 stars, I would have. If you are looking into home or auto insurance, I beg you to look elsewhere and not make the mistake I did. They are just awful, they increase premiums every year without cause or the ability to detail the reasons behind the increases. They are incredibly slow to respond during any actual claim processes and will find any way they can to either not provide coverage or provide the bare minimum. Their 'trusted' contractor list is full of poorly reviewed contractors who seem as crooked as cooperators are. Please go elsewhere, you will thank me later.

Raised my premium approx a month later then cut my insurance off due to nonpayment( false). NOW COOPERATORS will not fix thier mistake. I've never had any driving infractions but have to pay the premiums of a convicted dui driver. This company does not deserve your money find a better more reputable company. Shame on you Cooperators.

Too expensive , premium increasing year over year , poor customer service

Too expensive, Customer service always involves a long wait time. The representatives themselves are polite and having lack of knowledge , doing mistakes, you have to double check after your call is finished . However, the company’s overall service is disappointing. My insurance premium increases every single year, and the explanation is always the same: “inflation in your area. It’s becoming increasingly frustrating and unreasonable.

Never think of buying auto insurance…

Never think of buying auto insurance from cooperators. very expensive. Even non- responsive when we call them. They don't care about the customers. Ultimately I had to cancel my insurance and I had to pay one month premium as penalty... very horrible experience.

Rental from my own pocket

Rental coverage with a limit of $1500.00 accordingly to my contract. Rental for 18 days paid by the insurance: $581.72. I had to pay another 8 days from my pocket, $258.55. Disappointing!

Know the details of any policy, especially seniors!

I had insurance policies for 2 cars and life insurance for myself costing $203 a month for a policy for $25,000 should I die. I have to die and my wife would receive $25K. No one explained to me that this was an Infinity Policy, nor my gracious Branch Manager. A few weeks ago, I advised my Branch Manager that I would like to surrender the policy and receive whatever monies accrued. The Branch Manager forwarded a form to be signed by me and my wife.
My Branch forwarded the policy to his Head Office and I was advised that I would not receive zero dollars. I asked whether I could cancel my surrender and continue to pay. I received a eletter from Cristina Chobot -To: MS

Hi
Regrettably, we were unable to reinstate the policy, both owners assigned off and agree to the terms of the surrender form.

The surrender form is clearly states that “You may not be eligible for insurance coverage in the future. If you want insurance coverage after the date of this cancellation, you must submit a new application, and your insurability will be assessed as of the date of your new application.”
Please advise your clients.
Sincerely
Christina Chobot

Christina Cobot short changed us for over $20,000 to benefit Cooperators instead of advising us not to surrender our policy. We were cheated, Shame on you Christina Cobot!

As a Senior, in my opinion, Christina Cobot does not know the fundamentals of customer service and customer retention. I would not conduct any new business with the Cooperators. It was a cash grab.
