Amy , the agent in the Smiths Falls Branch office was so knowledgeable concerning my 3 polices
Auto insurance premiums increased before the premium year ends.
I no longer trust this insurance company. I have an auto insurance with them. And they just increase my premium even in the middle of the premium year. When I asked them, they will told me a lot of excuses which I really have no control since I am tied up with them in a year, unless I preterminate my insurance and incur more losses. I will never get their services again.
This is just an imaginary setup
This is just an imaginary setup. Nobody is working there, and it’s a scam that wastes people’s time on an endless telephone queue.
Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time, they are clearly not looking for new customers. I was on hold with them twice , for over 2 hours trying to connect with a human being and my call was dropped. They said it was a "service issue". When I asked if there was any way to have someone call me , they said no. If that is the way they run their business I can't imagine what would happen if I was in an accident and needed to go through that process. Avoid this company and save yourself the grief.
I'd give it a 0 out of 5 if I could.
Good luck even getting in contact with them. I was a customer for over 10 years with no claims until there was an issue with my annual payment, causing my policy to lapse. Once discovered, I contacted them to pay in full and have the policy reinstated, but they refused. I was forced to call their quoting service, where I spent multiple days waiting 3-4 hours on hold only for no one to pick up. After finally getting quoted through e-mail, they dragged their feet until I missed out on a renewal discount, and quoted me $200 more on my premium a year because of it. I spent over a month getting jerked around, yet within an hour I got a quote with another company for cheaper than what the Co-operators quoted. Absolutely disgraceful service, if you can even GET service. Would not recommend under any circumstance.
I usually don’t leave reviews
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience with Co-operators’ short-term disability claim process. I have been paying into this insurance for about three months, and when I finally needed to claim, the process has been incredibly frustrating.
To start, they provided incorrect instructions, telling us to submit the claim via email. After a week with no response, I found out they don’t accept claims that way and had to mail it in or submit it online, which caused an additional two-week delay. This is particularly stressful when bills are piling up, and the whole process feels excessive and disheartening.
Even after submitting all necessary documentation and a doctor’s note, I was subjected to a lengthy and seemingly unnecessary phone interview with a representative by the name Tamera Sparrow for over thirty minutes. This has made the whole experience feel like they’re trying to find reasons to deny the claim. When people are unwell and trying to pay their bills this process is revolting. It’s been stressful and disheartening, and I hope this helps others make a more informed decision. Stay away from this company.
The worst customer service
The worst customer service
They put in hold two hours and than the call ended abruptly. this is happening three times
I was with Co-operator for many years
I was with Co-operator for many years, they are good at the agency and has been a pleasant to deal with. However, I recently had my 1st claim and learned the insurance adjustor is so hard to deal with. We found so many errors and she shorted us everytime we submit the receipts. Delaying to pay us half way through the claim and saying the receipts are missing. The adjustor is asking us to resent receipts 4-5 times when they were included in the original submission. Still, we have not got our money yet. We are going through a hard time already and the adjustor is making it harder for us. It defeat the purpose of having an insurance and ease of mind when the unfortunate happened. I regret choosing co-operator.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Just don’t bother… I called 3 times just to nail down a quote finally spoke to someone and was sending in all the information they requested via email. Didn’t hear back at all, had to follow up, called then was transferred to voicemail, left a voicemail didn’t receive a call back. Called back a day later and they said they don’t do house insurance in my area after I had sent in all my house information, pictures as requested. Serious run around. Just don’t bother, they don’t want business.
Horrible insurance company

They raised my monthly premium by more…
They raised my monthly premium by more than $100, claiming my driver's license wasn't registered with the correct issue date and when I asked them to cancel my insurance, they charge me 200$ for penalty. Be aware of this insurance company, they are scam. Why I have to pay because of cooperators insurance company mistake?
Please avoid this insurer at all costs
Please avoid this insurer at all costs. They have absolutely no one answering phones in their offices or at the toll free line. Basically, insurance IS customer service and interacting with customers, so they're avoiding their essential tasks. My insurance went up every year and even when I remained on hold for extensive periods to talk to a representative, no adjustments could ever be made. For info, I held homeowner's and auto policies with this company and I urge everyone to please avoid them. Do NOT use cooperators. They are not reachable, not helpful, and gauge you for money from every angle (raising costs with every renewal and charging penalties for leaving the insurance).
A company that does not work in the best interest of their clientele.
I had considerable resulting damage to my house (floor, cracks in walls and ceilings) due to push pier lifting. The Cooperators denied my claim. I have been with them for at least 30 years and have never submitted a claim. When I finally needed their help, they denied my claim. I feel that I have wasted both time and considerable money with this company. They are not a company that respects and supports their clientele. I regret ever having trusted them. My neighbour who has experienced the same damage was covered by their insurance company.
I had an accident on the road
I had an accident on the road. A drunk driver caught up with me at high speed and damaged the left side of my car. He was caught and arrested by the police and the case was transferred to court. Unfortunately, Co-operators took a very long time to resolve it. The insurance agent was too lazy to contact the police for a month, so I asked the police to send me an accident report. I sent it to the insurance agent, and he simply did not even check his email, or ignored it. After two weeks, when he called to once again blame someone for not doing anything, I sent the report again while we were talking. At the end of all that time, they finally transferred the money to the car service, but here they behaved badly too! They blamed the insurance company for the accident, that they do not contact us)). Therefore, they cannot fully pay for the repair. And to pick up the car, I had to pay another 750 can. The car is new, insured as full coverage. They don't want to correspond, are they afraid that it could become evidence in court?
Extremely expensive
I went to get a quote for my car insurance. The letterhead of the website says “affordable car insurance” and they wanted to charge me 1020 dollars a month, 12,500 a year for it! INSANE! thats like half of my annual salary! And I would only drive 10km a day!!! what a rip!
The wait time is TERRIBLE!!
I went to the co-operators near where I live, they told me that they no longer do quotes for new clients and that I had to call instead. I was on the phone for 6HOURS!! Trying to get a quote for car insurance! After it reached the 6hour mark the call just ended. I called back and the lady that directs the calls said that it might have been a slow/low "network" issue. Same thing happened few months back when my boyfriend tried to get his car insured through them. We called and 3hours into waiting the call just ended as well.
Co-operators was a complete waste of…
Co-operators was a complete waste of time and money. They never paid out a cent on my claim—just kept asking for more “proof” while I paid out of pocket to gather documents and reports. Every time I called, I got no clear answers, and it was obvious they had little experience handling my type of claim. In the end, I was left with nothing but frustration and extra bills. I’ll never trust them again.
Poor and worst insurance
Poor and worst insurance. They will just cancel without you knowing at all and will not give you any chances and will never answer your calls even you wait for 4/5 hours. Never get insurance from COOPERATORS. Worst company ever. Bad Customer service as they will just transfer you to department that will never answer. Truly a Bad and Worst Experience.
They were very rude
They were very rude. Ended the call while I was explaining. They could’ve just say no, it’s that easy
After having home insurance with them…
After having home insurance with them for 5 years they refused to insure my new house, and refused to tell me why.
