Worst buying experience

We buy a minimum of 300 trucks a year from multiple insurance and public auctions. Copart has to be the worst company to deal with. Maybe it is better in the USA, but in Canada no good. As of this month we are cancelling our membership with this platform.
#1 their payment options are he worst, I had a towing company deliver a draft to pay for a unit for us, as I was out of the country. They wouldn’t except the payment because it wasn’t from the account on the profile.
#2. Picking up purchases are never straight forward and complicated for no reason, except for them to chrage more storage
#3. Customer service is a joke, not friendly and many times rude. Always using the excuse of “fraud prevention” why they can’t help.

Be very careful using this auction site…

Be very careful using this auction site . It's a big scam to the general public . They will bid on their own cars to push the price up . All the cars in the auction have there spare wheel and jack removed from the vehicles and sold back to you . They have a trade seller A.S who has all the most of the cars on the site and bids on most of his cars on the auction. Be Careful when using this site ever one

Copart turn on autopay themselves, and there's no way to get a refund

They turn on autopay themselves, and there's no way to get a refund! Copart is probably the largest salvage car auction in the world, and that's how they treat their customers. Their customer support is absolute crap. When you register an account, autopay is automatically turned on, without any warning. A month ago, they sent me an email saying my membership was expiring soon and that I should follow a link to renew it. I don't need a membership, and of course, I didn't do anything. I created an account a year ago to buy one car and never used it again. Yesterday, they automatically charged me for a subscription I don't need. When I asked to cancel, the support team left the chat. When I called, after they told me it wasn't possible, they hung up without even listening to me. They replied to my email saying I turned on autopay myself on the day it was charged. This is a disgrace and a scam from Copart.

Do not become a seller with Copart!

I spent all my time effort and money to get a dealership license so I would be able to sell on Copart Auctions. I was told by the sales support staff that being a seller is very lucrative (like all good door to door sales people do it's a bait n switch). Again I hold myself responsible for allowing myself to be huckstered into doing this. Firstly I listed 3 vehicles as a test on the local lots where I live 2 were in great condition no mechanical issues and everything operational and one with a restored salvage title here is where it gets interesting. I was assigned a "Sales Team" they at first seemed interested in meeting my requests at first, then reality set in following inaccurate listing description of my restored salvage they tainted the listing by stating it had front end damage which it did not all was repaired passing a class 3 state inspection to be certified restored. This ruined the sale of the vehicle 89 Honda so the bidding was really bad and ended as of today. Next my truck is in great shape inside and out runs drives everything works no issues clean title again highest bid was insulting. Next a van in great working order everything mechanically working clean inside and out. Again highest bid clean title car was insulting also. Both my clean title vehicles were sent to these lots and had items I included like steering wheel covers and dashmat that were taken out of the vehicles without my notification or any offer to return the items to me. The definition of theft falls under this description. So I have decided to pull the remaining vehicles I have at the lots and no longer continue down this very expensive hard lesson learned. Oh and FYI for those you need to know that they always get paid even if you don't I had to pay to get my truck back $128.00 and I'm sure I will have to pay for the other 2. Long story short nothing in life is easy sure thing if you are told this your being lied to.

Copart is a dumping station for junk /…

Copart is a dumping station for junk / worn out and wrecked salvage vehicles !! ALSO all the phone app auto dealers / buyers (example Carvana and all the others like theme) use this place to get rid of the junk worn-out vehicle they purchased in error and unable to sell.
Copart opened it's doors to the public using all the 3rd party auto brokers to get around state and federal laws to buy these junk vehicles AND BEWARE - EVERYTHING COPART SELLS and AUCTIONS is JUNK unwanted vehicles due to the HIGH COST of what it will take to try to make the JUNK they sell back into something drivable.
ALSO Copart's listing pictures of the JUNK THEY SELL / AUCTION is very deceptive (snapping pictures of the damage with the sun shinning into the camera's lens or aiming the camera away from the damage and when you get your PRIZE JUNK you purchased it's the BIG COPART SURPRISE as I call it !
ALSO Copart list vehicles as run and drive and when you get the JUNK you purchased the engine has a rod knock or Copart's fork lifts they use to move vehicles has destroyed the transmission OR the CATALYTIC CONVERTES are cut off / MISSING !!
AND COPARTS FEE's just about doubles the auction price PLUS if your the public and use the 3rd party auto brokers they got ADDITIONAL FEE's
YEP - The BIG Copart SURPRIZE
WELL what do you expect, Copart is a SALVAGE OUTLET where Junk / Wrecked / Trashed and Worn Out Vehicles go to be recycled
WHAT makes you think your saving money paying retail prices for JUNK and Copart goes out of it's way to HIDE THE TRUTH
How do I know this, I am a salvage rebuilder for over 40 years who use to buy from Copart that no longer can do to the the HIDEN COST and DESPECTIVE ways Copart does business, It makes no sense to pay retail and have to spend double investment to try to sell and only get half of your investment back

DO NOT LEAVE AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT METHOD on your COPART account! They will auto-renew you annually, and this is NONREFUNDABLE!. Just found this out the hard way today. I chatted with Customer Service who said tough luck.

If I Could Give Copart 0 Stars I Would...

Worst relationship I have EVER had working with a company, especially for a high dollar item. Dealing with them is worse than dealing with Comcast. They do not spell out their processes anywhere for working with the required broker. The prices listed for the brokers are not updated. The broker I ended up with had one price on the Copart website, one on the broker's own website and a 3rd price on the actual contract. VERY BAIT AND SWITCH, which is illegal. At least one of the brokers listed on Copart's site stated they do not even work with Copart anymore.

The brokers don't know how to use the Copart delivery features/options for their buyers and they refuse to learn and Copart doesn't try to educate them. When trying to get more details on delivery options, unknow to the broker, The Copart person actually refused to answer the question, was answering a question I was not asking, would not let me speak to anyone else and would not tell me her name before hanging up on me. I had to call back and speak to a manager like my name is Karen.

The next morning the broker then called Copart and told them not to talk to me but claimed Copart told them to tell me not to call them anymore. It is all very scammy from my experience! Copart then said they could not talk to me because I am not the buyer of the car that I just bought, yet they could not point to any link on their website supporting this rule. I have to address my questions to the broker that tried to keep my deposit instead of applying it to the car I had just purchased through them and is mad that I didn't let the deposit keeping happen.

So, you end up with a car for which you have paid a lot of extra fees because you are forced to have a broker in the middle; a car owned by the broker, who doesn't want to be bothered with details of how you can get it, no car and no database of resources of how to get it off the lot, which is now charging for storage for not removing the car no one to contact to try to get the car to you.

NICE, VERY NICE!

The Ohio based broker I used tried to hold onto the entire $700 deposit and make me pay for the entire car again without the deposit factored in. It was 2.5 days of email back and forth to have my deposit applied. It was a farce. I still don't have the car I paid for. and the broker claims that it will take them at least a week from the time they get the title, which Copart's site claims was mailed and the broker said was not yet mail to them, to process signing it over to me. AT LEAST A WEEK!!! for a process that at most takes 10 minutes.

They seem to have no oversight or publish rules but hold you to these unpublished rules. It is a real SH!+show through the broker side.

Would never recommend this nightmare for anyone.

If I could give negative stars for this…

If I could give negative stars for this company I would. I won a car from them, they give me 3 days to pick it up, but when I tried to make appointment they said that I cannot pick up the car for another week, supposedly that’s when they had the next available day to pick up, meanwhile I am being charged fees because the car was not picked up in time. This is my last time I will be buying anything from them. It’s more headache than it’s worth. I’ll buy from IAAI. Be warned.

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with Copart. I paid for a membership, and right after that they started demanding endless documents to verify my identity. I uploaded everything possible, but they kept asking for more and more. Instead of making the process simple and clear, they made it complicated and stressful. In the end, I decided to cancel my membership and now I’m just waiting to get my money back. Very disappointing and unprofessional service.

delivered the car damaged

delivered the car damaged, provided them proof - they denied accountability or action. Later discovered car was missing a part that was not missing when the car was arrived to their lot. Their is no real security. Seems like the workers there pull parts out and sell them off market from what i've heard. Don't even ask how many calls and days I had to go through to get them to deliver the car.
