At Coppergate Clinic we are committed to open, honest, patient-centered care. It’s very important to us that we only proceed with surgery when it is in the patient’s best interest, and when we believe it will provide a safe, meaningful benefit. In your case, our consultant felt that this particular surgery was not the most appropriate option for you at this time. That judgment is reached based on the clinical assessment, our experience, and our duty of care to ensure any intervention is safe, appropriate and likely to meet your goals.

Although the consultation may have felt short, our records show that the consultant did discuss in detail alternative treatments and advised you on options other than upper eyelid surgery. We understand this may have been unexpected, but our intention was to act with your safety and best outcome forefront.

We would be delighted to schedule a further complimentary follow-up discussion (either via phone or at the clinic) to revisit your initial concerns, review the alternatives, and help clarify why this particular surgery was declined at this stage, as well as ensure you leave with a clear, comfortable plan. We value you as someone who travelled to see us and want to ensure you feel heard and supported.

Our Clinical Manager, Heather Clayton, will be in touch with you this week to discuss your experience in more detail and ensure all of your questions are fully addressed. We also truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us reflect on how we communicate our clinical decisions and improve the overall experience for future patients. We must say we don’t feel this review reflects the high standard of service consistently delivered by our front of house team, who are regularly praised by both patients and colleagues here on Trustpilot for their warmth, professionalism and extensive knowledge of our services. It is therefore disappointing to read your suggestion that you were not provided with the information you sought, as our team would have been delighted to answer any questions you had during your visit.

In terms of our facilities, we’d like to clarify that Coppergate Clinic does not have “three rooms where everything happens”. Our facilities include a number of dedicated consultation rooms, two fully equipped CQC-approved theatre suites, a beautiful and comfortable waiting area, and a private recovery room for patients, all designed to ensure the highest standards of care, safety and patient experience.

We also make every effort to keep our information as digital as possible, both to be environmentally conscious and to ensure patients have access to accurate, up-to-date information at their convenience.

For these reasons, we do question whether your experience may have been with another clinic rather than Coppergate Clinic. Should you wish to discuss your concerns further, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly, we’d be delighted to assist you.
