Trip February to March 2026

Having booked a return flight to Costa Rica, I ordered country and wildlife guides to help me plan my trip. I felt totally overwhelmed!

They sat on my coffee table for months, persecuting me with a “well, get on with” kind of message! So eventually I did some internet research…and found Alex from costarica.com.

From the first video call with Alex I relaxed, and felt excited. Alex “got” what I wanted, and took time and extreme care to make an itinerary which proved perfect for me.

I had a fabulous, rich and truly awesome month, having the quiet and the wildlife encounters I dreamed of on the Osa peninsular, being in rainforest and on rivers further north, and having a totally relaxing final three days on the Caribbean coast near the lively and very charming tiny town of Tortuguero. Watching howler monkeys in the trees at my hotel, and seeing a spider monkey with a baby unusually low down in the canopy on a local walk; the magical icing on the cake in my last days there.

Alex’s attention to detail translated to amazing care of me once I arrived. As a solo traveller of 71, I appreciated Alex meeting me at the airport and driving me to the lovely B&B on the outskirts of San Jose, collecting me the next morning and seeing me on to my bus to Osa! He remained available on whataspp throughout my stay to help make sure everything worked, and ready to help in case there were hiccoughs.

My family and I traveled to Costa Rica from February 8th–12th, and we had an absolutely amazing experience thanks to costarica.com.

We flew into Liberia and stayed at the beautiful Hacienda. From start to finish, everything was perfectly planned. Alex from costarica.com did an excellent job coordinating all the details — transportation, excursions, and especially our catamaran ride, which was one of the highlights of our trip! Alex helped me from the very start to the very end. From October 2025 to February 2026 Alex and I spoke at least once a week, sometimes several times a week while planning this vacation . He was truly there for my family and I, even while on vacation!

We spent time partying and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and every part of our itinerary flowed seamlessly. Our private drivers (Renée and Cesar) were outstanding — always on time, courteous, kind, and extremely helpful. We even learned more Spanish! Having reliable transportation made the trip stress-free and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our vacation.

As someone that has been planning our family vacations for over 30 years, I have never come across a travel planner as organized and thorough as Alex. We gave him a challenge to keep a group of 25 family members happy and he came through with an itinerary that put a smile on everyone's face. But anyone can put an itinerary together on paper. Where Alex and team really shine, is the attention to detail every single day on every single event to make sure that it goes off without a hitch. For Alex and team, this is where they separate themselves from any other travel planner. They make sure that each and every day and event that is planned actually goes off according to plan. Little touches from photos of the transportation drivers to detailed images of event meeting places are provided; it's like having a personal travel concierge with you at all times. For anyone traveling to Costa Rica for any group size, I would highly recommend contacting costarica.com for your needs. For our family, they arranged for transportation, lodging in two places (mountains and on the beach), dining, and tons of activities. At least half of our group has a direct story about how Alex individually helped them with something. This is the second time we have utilized costarica.com for our travel needs in Costa Rica.

Our Costa Rica trip was amazing. Costarica.com is top notch. Alex was professional and had everything organized and planned for our family of 12. The places we visited were beautiful and everything went smoothly. The transportation provided was perfect. I would highly recommend them to plan your trip.

Alex made this a great experience. I originally booked this trip in 2019 but had to cancel due to Covid. When I called Alex in 2022, he not only remembered me, but he also remembered the credit I had from the 1st trip. He rearranged the trip in a way that allowed us to take full advantage of all that Costa Rica had to offer! We stayed in 5 star resorts on both sides of the island. The accommodations were magnificent. Before we left, Alex told us booking the trip was the easy part…he was right! Alex knew that our one main objective was to go deep sea fishing in the Pacific. My son is an avid angler. The wind conditions prevented us from fishing on our scheduled day. This was the second day of our stay. Alex rearranged the entire trip, switching tours, adding tours, keeping us busy everyday as we wanted, AND got us our fishing charter. All our tour guides were knowledgeable, conscious of our physical abilities and quite fun to be with. I have to say with 15 years of fishing experience behind us, the crew on our charter was one of the best we’ve fished with. All our activities went exactly as Alex planned. Our driver Rene, who Alex also arranged for, was top notch and was on the spot for all our pickups and transfers. The nicest part of dealing with Alex was actually meeting him. He made the time to do even that.

I am truly amazed at how wonderful this company, and specifically Alex, was to work with. Literally everything taken care of for us. Transportation to and from the airport and everything in between, including scheduling Covid testing. Alex was extremely professional, super responsive, and beyond helpful. I really can’t say enough good things. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thank you so much Alex!

If I thought I was ever good at planning things I was wrong because Alex was on TOP OF EVERYTHING! Beginning to the absolute end. He was always available to reach out to, was able to satisfy all the needs of our trip, was the most punctual about everything. I really can’t even find enough good words. There needs to be more of him in this world I swear. He made everything about this trip so much easier having not known anything about how I was going to figure things out for 8 people and what we would do! We did a lot in the 5 days we were there! Our driver Rene was the best ! He was so sweet and knowledgeable and he put up with all of our crazy asses. We were a crazy group I can assure you. Alex or Rene if you ever want to come and visit us in Arizona I promise you I will make it the best experience you ever had. I highly highly recommend visiting Costa Rica and you better have Alex booking your trip because there isn’t anyone better!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I cannot express how amazing Alex did helping my family and I plan & enjoy our vacation in Costa Rica. Because of Alex, I was able to give my family a trip of a lifetime. I started planning this trip 6 months before the vacation and Alex was there ever step of the way to recommend and coordinate events for me. My family and I stayed at the Chateau Mar Vista in Playa Hermosa and the house was amazing. Also our driver Melvin was amazing. He was always professional and courteous. He also was always early to made sure my family had a fun time and got to where they needed to be. I will always call Alex when I want to plan another trip to Costa Rica.

Alex, with Costarica.com, was absolutely wonderful. With only 24 hrs notice he got us drivers lined up for the week and planned all our activities. He had great recommendations of what to do everywhere we went. When we needed restaurant suggestions, he texted me menus and made the reservations. Anytime we wanted more time with whatever we were doing he reassured me to enjoy our vacation and he’d take care of moving our reservation or letting the driver know we needed more time. Each evening Alex texted me the itinerary for the next day and even sent me a photo of our driver and any guides we’d be meeting so we knew what to expect. He was in constant communication and available anytime I needed to ask a question. He absolutely made our trip be worry-free and so much fun. I’m incredibly thankful for his services.

If you want to go to Costa Rica, you really need to talk with Alex Solorzano of Costarica.com. He built a bespoke trip for our family of six for less than the cost of any of the tours out there, and we were able to travel with kids under eight, something the “family” tours don’t allow. Your trip will cost the same as if you did all of the research and leg work yourself, but he will offer options you didn’t think to ask for but will need, and he will be there for you the entire trip (by phone) to make sure that everything goes smoothly. If you feel like making changes along the way, he sorts that out for you. His goal is for you to have the perfect trip, given your values.

As you plan your trip, Alex Solorzano asks thoughtful questions, right from the start, trying to best assess his clients’ values in order to put together a trip that best meets their interests and aesthetics. As a transportation facilitator, he knew the logistics of how we would need to get from place to place. We discussed domestic flights and cars and boats. He gently asked more about our interests and told us about locations and activities that I had not known to ask about. He supplied us with car and driver, guides and lodging for less than I would have paid had I put everything together myself. He coordinated with Panama transportation to organize our trip from border to border. The drivers were warm and flexible, the lodging a mix (from the spa hotel with eight different hot spring swimming pools and killer slide, to the tent cabins on the beach in the jungle). When we wanted to make changes as we went along (wait! Let’s go on a sloth sighting tour! ) we simply asked our driver who set in motion adjustments for the rest of the day. When the kids needed a chunk of unstructured time, we slept late, bailed on the waterfall, and hung out at the hotel pool.

With the obstacle of traveling during these times of Covid, Alex sent us links to the docs we would need to have to enter Costa Rica, Panama, and Costa Rica again and arranged for a driver to take us to the clinic with the best prices and fastest turnaround for needed Covid tests for our return flight to the US. He texted me every evening and many mornings, to confirm the plans for the day, even sending a photo of the new driver, and when he arrived at our pick up spot, sent a photo of where he was parked. When there was a glitch at the Panama border, we were able to call Alex and he spoke with the immigration people, and helped us through the hoops of getting on our way.

Alex is a perfectionist who takes great pride in anticipating what his clients want, and he understands that clients change their mind as they travel. Even his personnel remarked about how vigilant he is about the details, how committed he is to making everything seamless.

Look over the options on his website, find the parts you would like to explore, then set up a call with Alex. I have traveled to 67 countries, much of it on my own, and I really enjoyed Alex’s professionalism; I wish there was an Alex in the middle east who could help me with the trip I will be doing solo in a couple of months!

Alex exceeded all of our expectations! I lead international yoga retreats and work with companies all over the world, and the level of customer service that Alex provided was absolutely top notch. I just returned from a retreat with 13 people. From booking multiple transfers, recommending and booking excursions, Covid tests, to last minute requests... he answered every call with enthusiasm to make our time in Costa Rica pure magic. I've made a new friend in Alex and am already planning another trip to Costa Rica next year.

Our trip to Costa Rica was amazing, exceeding all of our expectations because of the planning and service Alex provided. Alex provided top notch communication from start to finish, arranging chef's, excursions, grocery stocking for the house, and transportation! We have just returned from a two-week tour arranged by Alex. From the planning stage to the day we reluctantly left Costa Rica, Alex provided efficient, accommodating service and provided us with personable and knowledgeable drivers/guides. We are especially grateful for the extra effort given to secure wheelchair accessible accommodations, vans and tours. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Alex and his drivers at Costarica.com. I needed multiple transfers (LIR to Arenal, Monteverde to Tamarindo, Tamarindo to LIR and LIR to Tamarindo). Alex was in constant contact and coordinated everything perfectly, even when I would ask for slight time changes. The van was clean, comfortable and our driver Allen (who we loved) went the extra mile, providing water and stopping to allow us to take pictures and grab snacks. Allen was always there at least 30 minutes early and never rushed us. Alex also helped to arrange our COVID tests which didn't disrupt our trip. I wish I hadn't already had our tours booked because I would have trusted them with this as well. If you are looking for transfers, look no further. I will definitely use this company every time I return! Thank you, Alex and Allen, for helping to make this a stress free trip!

Alex was a star when we found ourselves stranded without a valid driving licence (long story) - he responded straight away and had arranged our drivers and additional itinerary within a matter of hours. He was incredibly available and again stepped in to help us out when our flight was unexpectedly cancelled. CostaRica.com gave us more than working logistics and activity or accommodation suggestions - it gave us peace of mind in difficult times when you’re travelling. Highly recommended.
