Everything so far is really good and…

Everything so far is really good and the Gemstone tracker seems of high quality. Installation easy and if the promised battery life is accurate that will be great . My only concern would be that when you shift from weekly to dayly positioning, it could take up to a week for the change to take place. Otherwise everything is in good order.

Thank you for your review — we’re very happy to hear that you find the Gemstone tracker high quality and easy to install.

The reason changes from weekly to daily updates can take time is that the tracker only connects at its scheduled reporting interval to save battery.

Instead of using Weekly Mode, we would actually recommend Live Mode for items that do not move very often. In Live Mode, the tracker stays in sleep mode to save power, sends a regular update once per week, and wakes up immediately if movement is detected — making it both battery efficient and useful as an anti-theft feature. Ok but not overly impressed

I have had many trackers for cars and other stuff and I am no overly impressed. It tracks fine if tracker is outdoor. It cannot track if indoor in a wooden building despite being close to a window. App is not intuitive.

GPS trackers rely on signals from satellites, and unfortunately, these signals can be significantly weakened indoors—even in wooden buildings and near windows. Materials such as insulation, metal roofing, and window coverings can all impair GPS reception. That’s why most GPS-based trackers work best when they have a clear view of the sky. The tracker’s placement can also weaken the signal. Finding a really good spot for your tracker will improve reception.
When the tracker is outdoors, it can receive a much stronger satellite signal, which is why tracking accuracy improves noticeably. If you want indoor tracking, you can purchase a premium subscription if needed. Thank you for your feedback BG

cpt copenhagen support

Their product might be good, but the after-sales service, or support, is outrageously rude. In that sense, they simply don't answer you and just ignore all email messages. I call this poor business practice. Shame!

You have to be a bit patient when…

You have to be a bit patient when making the installation and getting the first connection. It is simple but takes some time to establish the connection. Once it is done, it work perfectly and the app is a great tool

Very short battery life

Regardless of the activity profile selected, the battery life does not live up to expectations. The prices for replacement batteries are outrageous, a complete rip-off. Otherwise, the staplers work quite well.

Thank you for reaching out. I completely understand your frustration—when you buy a tracker, you expect the battery to last, so I’m sorry to hear that hasn't been your experience so far.
I’ve taken a look at your tracker’s data. Technically, the device is performing exactly as it should, but it’s clearly working overtime to stay connected. Here is why that happens:
Increased Signal Strength: When a tracker is in a challenging spot (like a basement, under metal, or in a dense urban area), it has to crank up its power significantly to reach the satellites and cell towers. Just like your smartphone drains its battery much faster in areas with poor signal, the tracker uses much more energy to push its signal through obstacles.
Live Mode: This is our most power-intensive feature. It provides great data, but in areas with weak signal, every single "Live" update requires the device to use a lot more power than usual to ensure the data gets through.
Regarding Battery Prices: I hear your concern about the cost. We use specialized high-capacity lithium cells designed specifically for tracking. Unlike regular batteries, these can handle extreme temperatures and have a very low self-discharge rate. We use these to ensure the tracker is reliable when you need it most, even if it makes the replacement cost higher than standard batteries.
How can we help? We want you to get the most out of your purchase. If you’d like, I can help you look at your settings to see if we can find a better balance between updates and battery life for your specific needs. BG

I rated the product poorly because the… Tracker broken after 3 months – no support

I rated the product poorly because the tracker only worked for about three months and is now already defective. It no longer functions at all.

I also purchased an additional battery because I initially thought the original one was empty. However, even with the new battery, the tracker still does not work.

Furthermore, I have not received any response from customer support, which is very disappointing.

Overall, I am not satisfied with the product and would not recommend it. I am now trying to resolve the issue through Galaxus, where I purchased the device.

No Support from CPH

I had the battery replaced. After that, the tracker did not reactivate. There was no response from support for days. This is unacceptable!

Unreliable. Unusable.

Sorry, I have to give a bad review. For more than a year the Gemstone tracker constantly keeps showing "poor reception" and there is no connection with it, no matter whether it is in a bike, in my pocket, next to the WiFi router, in a car-under a large sunroof ... in the city, on the highway, in the forest. It just doesn't connect to the GSM network, or if it does - it is sporadically, incidentally and very rarely. And this has been happening during the premium plan, when the tracker is supposed to use WiFi-s to determine its position.
For the last month it is in my car and crossed the whole country several times and through that time it sent not more than 5-6 positions, while in LIVE plan. It never reacted to shaking through that period. The people in the office were somehow helpful and we changed the battery several months ago and it is all the same.
I am still keeping it just to keep me annoyed :), but I am not using it.

I would like to clarify a few technical aspects, as they may help explain what you are experiencing. I can see that the tracker is doing what it should when you switch modes and is also sending signals, but there may be dropouts if all conditions are not met for the reasons below.
How positioning works
Our tracker determines its position using a combination of:
GPS (satellite positioning)GPS requires a relatively clear view of the sky. Signal quality can be significantly reduced in:Even a car roof can reduce satellite visibility, and some modern windscreens block GPS signals more than expected.
Urban canyons (narrow streets between tall buildings)
Dense forests
Underground car parks/basements
Inside vehicles, especially if located low in the cabin, inside metal compartments or under coated/thermal windscreens
GSM (mobile network) After obtaining a position, the tracker must connect to the GSM network to transfer the data. If GSM coverage is weak, congested or unavailable, the tracker may: Wooded areas, country roads, underground locations and even certain urban areas can cause unstable GSM connectivity.Display ‘poor reception’Attempt transmission multiple timesStore data and send it later when the signal improvesWiFi scanning (WiFi sniffing) – available on the Premium subscription The tracker does not connect to WiFi like a phone. Instead, it scans nearby WiFi networks and uses their IDs to estimate the location via a global database. Important points:
It requires detectable WiFi networks nearby
It still requires GSM to transmit the position afterwards
So even with WiFi positioning enabled, GSM connection is still necessary. BG

The tracker worked fine for about 2…

The tracker worked fine for about 2 months. Then it stopped sending a position. Support told me that I need to be close to wake it up?? This wasn’t possible as the tracker is on a boat. After a few months and back on the boat all efforts couldn’t make it work again. This is an unreliable product which doesn’t live up to expectations. CPH now asks for order number which they apparently can’t find in their system…. This is idiotic and just bad support or negligence (or both)

My tracker stopped sending location

My tracker stopped sending location. I contacted the customer service and they immediately replied with an option to send the tracker back to them (free of charge) and send me back a new one as soon as they received the non-working one. In the meantime they continued good communication via email.

I was very satisfied with the support they offered.
The new tracker is already with me and working.
