Craig's Barber Shop Reviews 

Amazing!!! Took my son for the first time today who has sensory needs and doesn’t like his hair cut and people touching near his ears. Craig was so calm and understanding and took the the time to make him feel at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone especially parents with children with additional needs.

Craig has been cutting my little boys hair since he was in nursery in 2020. My son is autistic and has sensory issues around anyone touching his head/hair. Together with nursery and Craig, they worked together having regular haircuts every 8 weeks to help my LB get used to having his hair done by Craig. This was put on hold for a little while due to Covid, but since the pandemic has finished, we now take my LB to Craig’s shop every 8 weeks, and built up my LB trust of Craig to the point where he will now sit in the sensory corner of the shop, and let Craig quickly scissor cur his hair. We are hoping to build it up that eventually we can get my LB to sit in the chair, with a gown on and for craig to be able to use the clippers. But baby steps and a whole tonne of patience from Craig are a MUST!! He has sooo much understanding of Autism and the patience of a saint. Couldn’t recommend Craig enough to any parent.

My little boy is 3 and struggles with certain sensory experiences, previous visits to different barbers had left us both in tears!
Today was our second visit to Craig and we have achieved a haircut! Insane!
Craig easily built up trust with my boy and totally understood his interests which helped massively.
The world needs more people like Craig, you are doing an amazing job! 👏

Our Son Oscar had his first haircut with Craig today, we expected it to be a trying experience for both him and Craig ( Oscar is currently on the autistic spectrum). We were completely surprised however, how at ease Oscar was during his haircut (normally he would run a mile from a pair of scissors). He seemed to find the whole experience very liberating with no restrictions placed upon him and Craig was very calm and patient with him. Would highly recommend and will be definitely be booking Oscar back in for another haircut.

Had my first cut with Craig recently and couldn't be happier. As a trans man, finding a barber that will cut your hair is a challenge in itself, but finding a barber that is so welcoming and compassionate about the situation is almost unheard of. From the moment I stepped through the door I felt at ease in Craig's company, which led to us having a very open and comfortable chat. There was none of the usual barbershop anxiety, and I left the shop looking and feeling great. When I got home my fiancé added that it was the most professional looking cut I'd ever had. 10/10 in every aspect. Well done Craig, keep up the good work!

This man is absolutely amazing..I could not recommend anyone better..from start to finish it was a breeze.. Craig literally has the patience of a saint and clearly loves to help children with disabilities and sensory issues. He dosnt mind the child being hard work and works around it with a big smile and calming manner which makes the experience a lot less stressful for both child and parent.. I've also never known a barber to lie on the floor with a child in order to make the child feel comfortable in their surrounding .. absolutely amazing person and have our next appointment booked in.. thankyou craig

I had heard about Craig for his work with neurodiverse children, but didn't know he also cut adults hair, including women's. I had been looking for ages for someone really skilled at cutting short hair in women, and realised he might just be the one. As luck would have it, he had a cancellation exactly when I needed it (he is generally booked up for weeks!). Craig is really friendly, welcoming and could understand exactly what I wanted (and what wasn't right with my current haircut). A lot of women's hairdressers are a bit scared to go too short and/or just not that skilled at cutting short hair on women. Craig I discovered had a long history in cutting men and women's hair in his former salons. Will definitely be back.

Excellent barber is absolutely brilliant with my son, who has Down syndrome and will not keep still and he followed him around trimming his hair and made my son feel at ease will definitely be going back recommend this barbers top service

Absolutely amazing hairdressers, was so patient with my 6 year old daughter with ASD. Gave her a brilliant haircut 😁 will definitely be returning in the future.

Our 5 year old autistic son has only had his hair cut in a salon 4 times before now. Looking at the time when we left it must have taken Craig 11 or 12 minutes to cut our son's hair. Craig is amazing, he relaxed him straight away and could easily have a conversation with our son. His last barber struggled to give him a haircut but managed to cut it after some time. Once we were given the diagnosis of Autism we thought it was important to tell our previous barber but after doing that she would not return our call or messages. We thought we were never going to find anyone capable of cutting our son's hair. Then we found out about Craig, it must have took him about 11 or 12 minutes. Absolutely Amazing, a miracle and our son even enjoyed getting his haircut, he was proud of his haircut.

We had our first experience today taking my 2 year old son to craig’s barber shop. He was amazing from start to finish and so understanding with my son. We’ll definitely be back in the future and recommend him to anyone!😊

Well I would like to thank Craig today for cutting my sons hair , he’s nearly 4 (autistic) and today was the first time he has had his haircut in a salon and stayed pretty still to have it done ! I honestly thought he would run around and knock things over and get so upset / angry 😤 but he didn’t some how Craig managed to cut his hair while he was playing on the floor with a toy clock box it was quiet just him and Craig quite dark which I think helped Stanley some sensory lights , water. And some books he managed to do it quickly not a lot of brushing which he hates and safely and a lovely cut which I had in mind I’d asked my son if he wanted it long ish still and he did as it was quite long 👍🏼😊
We will back !

The thought of taking my son to the hairdressers has always filled me with dread as he hates it but today I went to Craig’s barbershop and I’ve never felt so relaxed and at ease. He was amazing with my son, so patient and wonderful! I can’t thank him enough!

My little lad, hates having his haircut.
As soon as he walked into Craigs barbers was screaming to get out, and normally constantly screams/upset throughout having his haircut with different barbers.
However first time with Craig and few minutes engaging with Craig my lad managed to settle, and he was happy for Craig to cut his hair no problem, And in the end wanted to stay and play, and gave Craig a Hi 5 and fist pump when leaving.
Will be going again for his next haircut.

Craig is so patient and has worked wonders with cutting our son’s hair. From him pretty much refusing to go in and my husband having to restrain him, to my son now walking in on his own, climbing into the chair and choosing which cape he wears! An absolute diamond!
