Some guy the name of Chad Smith assured me that he could help me with a loan. And if I gave him my SS# he would run a soft credit report that wouldn't affect my score and would call me right back. A week later my score took a 30pt hit and I am still waiting for a call. I also called and left message for Chuck his main supervisor then called back following Monday for the big boss James Burger and it's been almost a week and guess what????? No Call!!!!!!!!!!! This company is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT TALK TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
They aren’t the worst
They aren’t the worst. They transfer your loans a lot which is confusing sometimes. I would give a higher rating because their customer service is pretty decent if you can reach a live agent. Their robo-options makes it really hard to do though and is pretty obviously trying to keep you from accessing a live agent, it's almost impossible. They called me one time and I missed the call, returning that call was like 20 minutes of arguing with a robot before being hung up on. Still don't know what the call was about.
There have been several issues with…this company
There have been several issues with this company and I have only had them for about 2 years. First they kept sending the mortgage bill to the tenants, who would keep sending it back. We checked the box for change of address several times to no avail. One rep told us that that box does nothing and told us we need to fill out a form and fax it. Still did not get fixed. Finally after speaking to a supervisor and threatening to take legal action it got resolved. The 2nd issue they were sending wrong amounts to the local taxing authority and double paying bills. The local tax collector said it is a nightmare dealing with these people. I had the escrow canceled and have been paying the taxes and insurance for a year now. The 3rd issue, Feb 2024 my loan was sold from Cross country mortgage to cross Country LLC. When I sent in the Feb Payment with the slip clearly marked with extra principal, they took the money marked for extra principal, opened an escrow accont and told me I was behind in escow and the payment will go up by 323 dollars a month. The 4th issue is I have asked for a payoff amount via email and was charged 25 dollars for it. No such email arrived. We also tried my wife's email, again to no avail. Good luck trying to get in touch with a real person. This company is a total sham and rip-off. I will tell anyone to run from them.
Customer Service is the worst
After many attempts still cannot get a live person...only prompts after prompts...this is after their NEW servicer CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC
Man do I wish I checked the reviews...
Man do I wish I looked into this companies reviews before going through their loan process...
Some context this was the second lender in our application process. This was for a Co-op location. The Co-op was not setup in the normal way and this lead to our first lender pulling out.
So as others have said it all started off well and friendly. But then once my application was complete it was a pain to get consistent information out of them. There was a partial hiccup due to our processor having to be changed, due to understandable circumstances. But, it took weeks to get another processor assigned. Making us extend closing.
After that was cleared we were instructed to pay for an appraisal. Even though we later had issues with how the contract was structured. So why would they not bring that up first before having us pay for an appraisal that was not cheap.
Furthermore we thought they were still doing underwriting, which was later communicated to us that they in fact were not. Leading to us eventually just asking for a denial of credit.
Anyway I'm very much a person who wants to understand what I'm getting into and what lead me to what made me want to make this review. I was reaching out for clarification on some items and was basically questioned why am I doing this and not my agent. Which really annoyed me as I'm the buyer here not my Agent.
The only good thing about this company is that their application process is easy. Everything else was a headache and a waste of time and money.
Shady
A few months ago, I signed up for auto-pay to reduce the stress of remembering to make and on-time payment.
They took the payment on the 30th of the month, rather than on the 1st as per the agreement, causing my account to be overdrawn since I had not yet made a transfer. I had to go through my bank to stop payment.
THIS month, I made a payment online and never received confirmation - through email or by going back into the online system to see pending payments. Thinking I had made an error and didn't finalize the payment, I made the monthly payment. Turns out - that first payment DID in fact post and was delayed on their end. When I contacted the company for a refund of the double payment, they advised me to yet again, call my bank to stop the payment.
Disappointed in this company and their lack of customer service to any level. Wouldn't recommend them for anything.
Do not value Veterans
At first they want to be all helpful and nice with you, but then they stop helping you. Just like other reviews, they ask for the same information several times after you send them all the proper documents. Then they prolong the process even longer to where you cannoot close in time. When you have a question or concern, you can never get ahold of them. And once you finally get ahold of them several days later, they don't know the answer to your question. Isn't that their job? Then once our loan was closed we got switched to a new servicer of the loan not once but twice within two months. And of course, when you try to call the lender and ask why they do not answer. We used them as a VA loan. To all my fellow service members, STAY AWAY from CCM. You're better off going with a legitimate VA lender then these incompetent bafoons.
Discovered them through my realtor and…
Discovered them through my realtor and initially intended to collaborate with Faramarz Moeen-Ziai. However, his assistant, Harly Cotaco, ended up handling my case, at least for the initial days. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite frustrating. They tend to prolong the process by repeatedly requesting additional documents, only to eventually become unresponsive, regardless of how persistent your attempts to contact them through calls, texts, or voicemails. It's a regrettable investment of time, and the added drawback of a credit inquiry seems entirely unwarranted. I would strongly recommend seeking out a more reliable company and avoiding any association with them.
Update: Faramarz called me right after this review and followed up with my application. He looks like a great guy but his team apparently needs some guidance.
They approve you through underwriting…
They approve you through underwriting and then they randomly audit you in a process they claim is random claiming it is to make sure "newer underwriters" who they hired are doing their job write. Then they make up and keep adding additional information needed to prove the information you already provided until you just want to go with someone else or wish you had. Be warned.
If I could give less than a zero I…
If I could give less than a zero I would. First, they had our loan in limbo for months due to the incompetent staff. We had to answer the same questions numerous times . The portal was hardly used except a few times
. If everything was done using the portal all the redundant questions would not have happened. Providing info to the loan mgr was a waste of time. It never was given to the processor. Bottom line it ended up costing us over $2100 in rent plus $2100 deposit lost because we had to break the lease for a week. Lease ran out the week before the closing and couldn't move. My family member had his house built and moved in a month before we closed. We were approved months before. Finally a higher CCM mgr had to tell his staff to close our loan
We are out at least $4200. Mind you we are seniors and cannot afford to lose money we cannot make up. It equates to over 2 months Mortage payment. I'm still extremely mad.
I would give CCM 0 stars if I could
I would give CCM 0 stars if I could. CCM took advantage of my elderly & disabled Mother by steering her into a Cash Out Refinance.
Google what a Cash Out Refinance Is then ask yourself how a Cash Out Refinance works for a elderly person that has owned their home free & clear since 2018?
My Mother sat with a CCM lawyer signing paperwork as I read the paperwork she finished signing.
The moment I realised CCM was NOT providing my Mother the 5 1/2 years of Equity she’d built up, I had her sign the Right To Cancel in front of CCM lawyer.
4 days later CCM still funded the Cash Out Refinance.
DO NOT DO BUSY WITH CROSS COUNTRY MORTGAGE!
I am going back & forth with CCMs legal department the past 2 months.
I have now backed the legal department into a corner they cannot escape.
I will be writing CCM 1 final time to expose their FRAUD & if they refuse to make my Mother whole again, I will be suing, reporting, & attempt to bankrupt this Fraudulent company.
Veronica is the best
Getting a mortgage is always a nightmare. The banks have all the power, and no matter how much income you have, it's never enough for them. But Veronica Franciosa has made getting a mortgage much, much better. She tells me the truth, she makes recommendations for what I can do to qualify to avoid having to show every single piece of paper I ever touched, and she has landed me great rates. Twice!
1st due payment
I receive a call 9:07 in the morning while at work about my payment being due seeing that my names on the loan it’s understandable . I try to explain to Michelle that My mother will be paying the loan. she sarcastically makes a smart remark about my mother?
I don’t get how you call me early, with a attitude, rude and make a smart remake while I’m politely trying to answer your questions
Absolutely Egregious Loan Qualifying…
Absolutely Egregious Loan Qualifying Experience. $220,000 in W2 salary and they couldn't get me approved for a $404,000.00 home.
Customer service is poor
Customer service is poor. Don’t waste your time with this one.
Worst Customer service from a Lender…
Worst Customer service from a Lender ever. Run, don’t walk from Team Galvin, and especially team member Matt Nelson who was highly unprofessional and rude. It was so bad that we had to reach out to his Branch Manager, Mr Galvin. And although we received an email from him stating he would rush/expedite things, that never happened. Between this company and Pathways Title, no one was willing to pick up their phones or return calls. Overpromised and under-delivered!
Don't even get on their radar
Don't even get on their radar. They'll call and email you relentlessly from several numbers, for years.
I have seen a lot of bad reviews about…
I have seen a lot of bad reviews about Cross Country Mortgage, but I am sorry to say that is not true because my experience with Cross Country Mortgage, with my Senior Loan Officer Mr. Ryan West
was the best he is very knowledgeable able getting the job done. Let me be the first to tell you that God out people in your life for a reason you may not know the reason but trust and believe me he knows the reason why I say that because a year ago I got in contact with Mr. Ryan West and I wasn't believing that I was able to get a house. But look here we are a year later and I am about to close on my house you see how God works I tell all you have to do is trust the process and it doesn't hurt to have some like Mr. Ryan West in your corner either. Ryan, I want to say thank you very much for being patience with me and allow me the trust the process. I know there are a lot of bad reviews on the website about Cross County Mortgage being bad for business, but I am here to say that they delivered for me I am about to close on my very first house. Thank you God.

RUN AWAY!
bought a place in Florida and cross country mortgage unfortunately, is our lender. We have owned probably 10 different pieces of real estate in our life, paid mortgages in full and on time and have never had a hassle. We both have excellent credit scores (above 800). We were part of the hurricane Ian, and therefore received a large amount of money from our insurance company who is very generous but because we have a mortgage cc mortgage holds and disperses the funds. Every single question I have for cross country mortgage turns into a nightmare. I think they have the rudest staff of anyone around. One dept does not know what the other departments are doing. Everyone has to transfer you and miraculously there is never a manager to speak to, and they never call back when requested. There is zero accountability. My loan was in deferment, but they continue to take my mortgage out of my checking account. It was pulling teeth to get my insurance payments from them even though the amount we are putting back into our place is twice what we received from the insurance company. I asked to get rid of my PMI insurance, and that was mixed up. There is not one thing that goes right. I turned them into the Better Business Bureau, and I still never received a phone call but lots of letters responding incorrectly. All I’m saying is runaway runaway runaway. It is the worst Company I’ve ever dealt with across-the-board bar none. If I could give a minus 10 I would.
