Greatly recommended
- I've been a member for about 5 months now and I absolutely love training at CFC. Fantastic place to get motivated to work out hard. Easy to book and follow rules - looks like a lot of people are not getting it right and that's strange. Also plenty of class choices and I like that they keep opening new centres.
- Quite dirty gyms. With so much sweat I don't dare think of the microbes around. If you're not in a new gym it looks like you're in an abandoned warehouse.
The reason for the 4/5 stars?
- Trainers are either fantastic or VERY bad. As a person with quite a few injuries I often felt unwelcome with my "What is the alternative" question. They advertise "everyone can be with us" - yes, but first you have to have some unpleasant experiences and just learn alternatives for yourself. I was aslo just told "Well I do not know what else you could do". A trainer should never use that question. Luckily you can see the trainer beforehand and just avoid the bad ones. For the membership fee we pay I expect some service from the all-mighty trainer (sorry CFC !)
- Dumbells start at 8kg. If you cannot use that there's limited (2 or 2.5kg plates) alternatives - with which it gives meaning to train. You cannot always use a big 5kg plate and only some centers have them in small version. It's a long way from 2 to 8 when you are not allowed to lift and have to train gradually :( But I don't think many have as many injuries as I do.
BUT - Greatly recommended overall. I have trained at quite a few places around Cph and if you are lucky to find the good trainers you will get addicted - like I did. Just read the rules properly - it has some like any other business.

For Danish-speakers only
I signed up for a free trial, and went to one class. Despite that it was an introduction class and three of us said at the beginning we didn't speak Danish, the instructor insisted on speaking Danish only - and said we can ask any questions we have in English.
Obviously this didn't work.
Fine, CrossFit is fully entitled to only include Danish speakers if they want. They shouldn't pretend to be inclusive if they're not, but it isn't the worst thing in the world.
But then after I quit my free trial they continued to charge me 2 months later. And getting in contact with them to fix this is impossible.

Poor trainers, poor workout quality and poor training centers
Det tager for lang tid for mig at skrive dette på dansk, så i stedet skriver jeg dette på engelsk.
I have trained at CF CPH for 2 years (have trained CF for around 5-6 years in total) and am quitting at the end of this month and will be joining another CF gym in CPH due to these issues.
CF CPH has focused too much on excessive growth for the last 12 months or so rather than quality and it shows in the exercises. Most training centers are of poor quality, equipment is lacking, cleanliness is very poor (it has gotten better during the last 3 months or so though).
A few examples: I consistently have had exercises where 35-40% of the time is spent on explaining workouts in a passive way and you end up using 20-30 minutes at most on the actual workout, which is a very poor use of time. I have pulled a muscle because the warmup was not good enough resulting in me being "cold" when I started doing the workout. I have seen people falling teeth first into boxes from rings after doing skin the cat without the trainer reacting quickly and correctly to it. I have seen people injure their ankles after doing burpee box jumps and trainers unable to assist because there are no ice packs or cooling sprays in the training center. I have seen people unable to shower or drink from the sinks because the water is not clean enough. I have had rashes on my thighs that last over a week after doing burpees on a dirty floor in the gym.
I have had some amazing workouts and good trainers at CF CPH but unfortunately, the drop in quality over the last year or so is staggering. The workouts are not worth the price.
Update: After CF CPHs poor answer below where none of the issues I raised were properly acknowledged I have lowered my rating from 2 stars to 1. In short my answer to CF CPH:
- You have a general issue with poor trainer levels, I am not going to point out individual names, that is your job.
- Of course injuries are the customer's responsibility but having no equipment to tackle injuries, e.g. first aid kits, ice packs/spray, gauze, strong tape etc is poor. I've been to gyms that even have defibrillators even though no one will blame the gym if someone has a heart attack.
- in all 3 CF CPH gyms I have trained at the cleaning has been poor, both observed by me and discussed in FB groups. CF is a gritty sport so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, but when I get random rashes on my legs and hands multiple times after doing burpees I think it's safe to say that you guys are not spending enough on cleaning.

I joined this Club in June (I received an offer for 9 kr for 2 months) I also couldnt find ANY information about paying for 3 months after the offer had expired. Me and my friend signed up the same time, we emailed in June and discountined membership after August to be on the SAFE side, but, the Club still charged me full Price this month.
However, not my friend. Which I found amusing as we had the same offer, same type of payment etc.
Lack of information is the worst thing, and making HUGE ads with only 9 DKK for 2 months and then charging full Price, is just WRONG!
I was very happy with my training, and instructor but so so disappointed with the fake commerical and after emailing and asking not receving an answer. Its really the worst kind of Commercial to say 9 kr and then charge full Price.

Very good Training
Very good training and good instructors.
Their positive attitude keeps you motivated.
They are always very helpfull in my 'box: Garagen' price of membership is a bit high compared to other offers, therefore no 5 score.

Great training in cph
I must admit that my expectations of crossfit was very different than how it actually was, but in a good way.
I've now been going 3 months and I love the variety in the sessions. I've not attended the same training plan twice in my 2-3 times a week participation.
At first I was also a bit suprised about the "rustic" state of the premises, especially the changing/shower facilities. Not a sauna in sight, although it's the size of a sauna in some places ha ha But I understand and appreciate that this gives crossfit Copenhagen it's street atmosphere.
I usually go to Adelsgade, Østerbro or Gentofte. I must say the majority of trainers in these places have been very good indeed. And the encouragement and team spirit from the others members is also appreciated and gives me the will to return as well as the time b opus results from the training.
The booking system is fine. And max 3 bookings has proven fine for me. Even if I'm on the waiting list, 9 out of 10 times I get a place.
I would, and have, recommended cphcrossfit to others :) but please open something in nsj!!!

Buyer Beware/False Advertising - 680DKK Lost
After "winning" two free months at CrossFit Copenhagen in an email competition, I tried out the opstarthold 4 times to see if crossfit was for me. I decided it wasn't and didn't go back and cancelled my membership.
I have since been charged twice totalling 680DKK.
This appears to be a recurring issue with CrossFit Copenhagen (read the other reviews for yourself) and the usual response is to hide behind their terms and conditions.
Be aware of this, should you decide to sign up after "winning" one of their many promotions. It will cost you more than you bargained for.
I do not recommend CrossFit Copenhagen due to their deceptive advertising and marketing practices.

3 Months binding
Super bad experience. You become a member trough a deal membership and you try to go and train. It's impossible because the beginners class is so crowded you don`t even get the chance to book online. The whole deal period goes away, they bill you a whole month without even going, because you cannot book a beginner class. I talked to them trough email saying all that and they say that it's impossible to cancel the membership because there's a 3 months binding when becoming a member trough a deal. Even though it's impossible to use the deal! I don't recommend becoming a member trough a deal. Bad costumer service, there's not a telephone you could call to, just by email.

Terrible customer service, false advertising
Incompetent and incapable staff. They were using false marketing into getting subscribers into a two month binding period advertising as a "free month".
They kept charging me even though I have only signed up for what I thought was a "FREE month". In addition, I have never even been to a training session, nor did I registered, and they still refuse to give my money back.
The reception staff refused to give any information about the manager that I could talk to about the situation and were very rude towards me, even though I never accused them of anything and was just trying to be nice.
I believe, that companies like CrossFit Copenhagen should have no right to have customers at all, if they don't know how to deal with people.
