I have been scammed

I have been scammed, I looked up a number, was charged 50p, now they have taken £39.00 out of my account, contacted my bank, I have e-mailed the company and stated that there is a 14 day cooling off period,
The bank says it looks like I signed up for a reoccurring payment!!!

This is fraud. They ask you to authorise £0.50 and then take £39 from your card next day.

Talked to the bank today and they said ask the company for the money.

FRAUD/SCAMMERS

Took 50p out of account for an alleged search, fortunately my bank has issued a new card, and blocked them and refunded me. They are absolutely disgusting and deserve to be caught out

The exact same thing happened to me

The exact same thing happened to me - paid 50p to track some information, they said 'no information was found', then a couple of days later that I was charged £39. I tried to block this payment but my bank requests that I contact the company first.
I called and a man with an Arabic accent spoke and made it all seem legitimate and got angry when I said that this was fraud. Supposedly he canceled my 'subscription' but I don't believe it. Came on here and saw that the same had happened to others. Am on the phone to my bank now and it's taking ages - I have a baby to look after. Vile, disgusting scammers. Stay away. I'm going to report them to the police.

data app.com is a totally fraudulent organisatin

I have had exactly the same experience as all the other scam victims - 50p taken from my account to get the details and then an attempt to take £39 per month for a so-called "subscrption". I can only praise my bank (Nationwide) for spottimg this and denying the payment. What is the Faud Squad doing?- or not doing? This company must be prosecuted and closed down.

Disgrace

Disgrace. Not a service, just a con to take £39 a month from you. I will report them they need shutting down. Legally you should have 14 days cooling off so will be using this but have to cancel my card to be sure can’t take anymore.

This is a service that hides the…Is this Fraud?

This is a service that hides the "subscription" of £39 pm behind a 50p initial payment. Once they have your card details they then proceed to extract £39.
Luckily my bank "flagged" as a possible fraud and prevented it BUT it also means I will be without my debit card until it is replaced. Cannot use the words to describe this lot but you can fill in the "blanks".

Paid 50p for a search after data app…

Paid 50p for a search after data app appeared to have information I wanted,they did not, this is 'miss selling' and against retail laws. £39 out of my account two days after my initial search, data app refused to refund my money. I emailed them this morning them and told them to refund my money as they have 'miss sold' and I have a legal right to '14 days cooling off period' I recived an email this afternoon stating I will be refunded my money within 7 working days. Don't let them get away with it!

Scammers, same complaint as all of the other reviews below, stupidly paid 50p to search for my divorce date which they state can be found, turned up no such information, then priceeded to take £39 from my card, emailed them and wanted they wanted no responsibility, taken it up with my bank! Just had the same scam happen to me…

Just had the same scam happen to me paid 50 p with my debit card for 48 hours free use of there database this didnt work.
Now find I have had £39 taken from my account.Have now cancelled my card to stop any more deductions.This company should be shut down for scamming people in this way.

Fraudulent Company

On the 4th December 2023 I paid this company £0.50 for a couple of attempts to find an address, which didn't work anyway. I had obviously to give them my card details to make payment. I thought that was that, Wrong.
Last night ( 3/1/24 ) I see on my bank account a pending debit of £39 to Date-App Net.
Checking back to the 4th December I find a debit for the £0.50 and also a payment for £39 which I had not noticed. There was no account linked to my email address, Data-App Net had simply kept my card detail and fraudulently taken two payments of £39, I presume they would have continued to do so, had I not cancelled my card.
The matter is now in the hands of the banks fraud department who are investigating this company and the transactions.

This should be ZERO stars. Appalling. Like others, paid 50p for a quick search for an old friend only to discover £39 has been taken from my bank account. When I called them, was told that the ‘trial period’ is 48 hours and it’s all on the website. When I told him that this is not made clear, he told me he did not wish to be ‘argumentative’ with me!!! Disgusting, sharp practice at best. Everyone should be made aware of this ‘company’ and its practices.

This is a fraudulent company, my bank actually contacted me today about them taking £29.90 each month from my bank account. I have never heard of them or joined them or used thie r website, how on earth they got my bank details is a mystery to me.
