I used the original program for years

I used the original program for years. It was simple to use and worked fairly well. Then I was forced into the new "improved" version. The Pro version is HORRIBLE. Everything it imports has to be checked. Deed references are totally wrong, nothing will import into REO addendums except photos, etc, etc. It is easily 5 times more complicated than the old version. I will be switching to Spark.

They can't figure out how to configure…

They can't figure out how to configure the database to include my MLS in NJ. They stated that GSMLS is covered but it remained to be seen. I have been calling on the daily bases for the last 3 days No Luck. I was told the salesperson is not on her desk, But it has been 5 hrs since and no one can get in touch with her. They shouldn't offer that service with alamode if they can't provide it. Alamode is a great company and they should not allow such low service company on their platform

Samih, I'm sorry to hear about this. We have been integrated with Garden State MLS for several years now. Do you primarily work with GSMLS, or do you typically work with one of the other MLSs in New Jersey. We are currently in talks with some of the other MLSs in New Jersey but we haven't finalized any agreements with them.

Datamaster was the perfect product for…

Datamaster was the perfect product for me. WAS. They rolled out a new platform and the new platform is awful. It is an awkward interface. It makes numerous errors like entering "BusyRd" for a comparable that is in the middle of a platted subdivision. That is just an example. There are many more. The old platform was simple and accurate. The new platform is a failure. Awkward interface, inflexible and makes many mistakes. I am going to try Spark or Anow software. If you are using the original DataMaster platform I envy you. But beware, the new platform will be coming for you soon. Signed, computer savvy guy

I canceled my Datamaster subscription…

I canceled my Datamaster subscription in early February 2021. In March 2021, last week, I was billed the full amount in two charges: $105.70 and $20.

I called and spoke to a representative from the billing department, Ray, who expressed his concern and said he'd transfer me to the accounting department to make sure my subscription was canceled and to issue a refund for this month. Then the line went dead.

I called back and waited on hold for 35 minutes before talking to the same representative, who said he was actually just going to transfer my INFO over to the accounting department, apologized for the miscommunication, and then he asked for my info again ("for communication's sake"). He said I could expect the accounting department to contact me that same morning. I have a record of this conversation, because I figured I was being batted around at this point. I didn't wait on hold at all for the first call.

Someone called later that day and said they would escalate the issue to their manager, who would then make sure the subscription was canceled and issue a refund.

That was a week ago.

I ended up disputing the charge with AmEx.

That's not to mention the issues with the service itself.

More than once I've had DataMaster pull the wrong information (and occasionally the wrong house entirely for comps, dispute putting in the correct MLS number). I've sent these issues to support and gotten nothing but cricket chirps in return. If you have to meticulously check whether or not they listed the correct info, what's the point? I'd be worried about the appraisers who rely on DataMaster to pull info, because a few mistakes here and there could lead to an error in your overall value -- and if a review appraiser points that out, that's a serious USPAP violation. Your license is on the line.

Part of the problem, I think, is that DataMaster prioritizes info from Realist over the MLS, or even the auditor/public records. As anyone who's familiar with Realist knows, the data is entered en masse. It's sloppy and occasionally inaccurate, sometimes resulting in more than a clerical error.

The charts and graphs for the 1004MC are cool and useful, but not to the tune of $120/month.

All in all, between trying to cancel my membership and fixing up errors, DataMaster has wasted way more time and money than it's ever saved me.

Let the truth be heard

I've been a fee appraiser for 20 years. I was looking for away to speed my time in the chair. Datamaster tells you at the beginning, their service will save you at least 30 minutes per report. I tried the service and found that is not the case. By the time you monkey around trying to get the info in the report using their service you could have entered it in manually in the same amount of time. In addition, they tell you can cancel any time. But they leave out the part where they are going to ding your CC twice for $49.00. For me the data was insufficient and always needed a lot of tweaking. When I asked for a refund because of the bug in their software that they couldn't fix they refused a refund. Don't waste your money on this service. Your local Mls- Flex, Matrix, etc already has the tools to simplify your needs. Watch the BS damage control they post after this review. Jim

Horrible company, Horrible Customer Service, Horrible Product

Horrible company, horrible customer service, horrible product. I have never experienced worse customer service. The software hasn't worked for a week now and I have been back and forth over 15 times with monkeys at this company. No one has fixed the problem and they eventually just stopped responding to me. I hope every appraiser considering Datamaster reads this and decides against using them.

Forced to pay upfront for trial, DENIED refund.

Signed up for a Trial, was forced to pay full month subscription for a trial upfront before trial started, I tried the software, hated it, I formally requested cancellation less than 24 hours of original purchasing the trial, in accordance with the requirements. After 12 attempts to cancel subscription and receive refund and was being ignored, I received an email saying they will not be issuing a refund and would like to extend my trial for a longer period of time. I declined the extension and the owner of www datamasterusa com later emailed me later and stated he would take care of the situation personally and issue a refund immediately. Three weeks later, still no refund.

I’d give the software 4 stars but...

I’d give the software 4 stars, but the value and customer service is more like 2 stars. The software works well enough, it still has some bugs however it let me do about 90% of what I want. It’s quite expensive though, over $1,000 per year and they are not even providing the data, just an import function really. The customer service was great when they were trying to sign me up but then fell off sharply. My MLS made some changes and they were quite slow to update the software even after numerous complaints. The worst part is that when I needed to cancel my service, they still charged my credit card after numerous emails, and then forced me to dispute the charges with my bank instead of issuing a timely refund. Bottom line, the software does save you lots of time, but I would look into some competitors first for better value and service.

The software has limited features

The software has limited features. The 1004MC data is inconsistent and unreliable. The import features from public records are inconsistent and unreliable. "Overall" the product serves well for data entry for comparables. While using the software for approximately 2.5 years, I have not noticed additional features or improvements to refine the reliability. The software does save some time and is acceptable; however, overpriced.

I have made four calls to Data Master…

I have made four calls to Data Master about a problem in the past year, and each time I explain that I never get a return call, I am told YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY HERE BACK FROM ME (whoever answers the call) TODAY But I never do, and the problem still exists. Rental data does not all transfer like it used to !!!

Datamaster is the best!

I have been using Datamaster for several years now and I love it. It reduces my time in inputting comparables and helps with 1004MC data. The support is great. They are very responsive and polite. The program is easy to use. I love how I can change how the data is input into my report to suit me. If your not using this program you are missing out.

Using DataMaster speeds up data…

Using DataMaster speeds up data integration to the appraisal report and completes the 1004MC quickly which allows me to do more work. I'm spoiled after using DataMaster for the last couple of years and will continue to utilize it for every report I write. I do and have recommended DataMaster to peers and they all enjoy it as well. Very good software.

Recommendation of DataMaster

For the most part, I have been pleased with the performance of this product as well as the technical support when needed. I believe the product could be a little more user friendly and intuitive, but even so I would recommend this product, as it is a huge time saver.

Every time your company does an update…

Every time your company does an update I have to call you to get the program to work again. Also, in each area all of the appraiser would generally want you to extract the same data and put it in the same place on the forms. However, you have each individual set it up. I would like to have mine set-up the way another appraiser that I have confidence in has set his up.
