Don’t expect to find just classical music lovers and details may be shared with other sites.

As a classical music lover I have been on the site for a couple of months. I was surprised at how many people on there don’t even like classical music so you waste a lot of time on unsuitable people. However I was recently talking to a guy who wasn’t even on this site. He was on a different site but still had access to my details which I think is horrendous as this isn’t clear when you sign up to ClassicFM.

Unauthorised payment taken from card

After subscribing for a month and then deciding it was not for me, I was horrified to find that the dating site has taken £38 from my credit card for February! I tried to leave a message on the website and after 12 attempts realised that they don't accept complaints! There is absolutely no way of speaking to a person, which is appalling, given the nature of this business. As I am unable to raise this issue with the dating website I am reporting it as fraudulent activity with my credit card provider. I also noted that there is no authorised subscription with Google pay. This is a shocking scam by what I would have considered a legitimate website. Subscribers beware!

It is a rip off I live on the Isle of…

It is a rip off I live on the Isle of Man they have people on here who have not been active for years! I rejoined and expected new members but was sadly disappointed in short, it is crap! They sent me a message saying I had not completed my profile! why would I when there are still profiles on there who were not active a couple of years ago! It is a total scam!

Horrendous

Horrendous. Simply the worst experience I have had. I genuinely believe I could get a soul mate after my sad experience. This site is just an insult to an injury. How disrespectful to all of us who, in this state and age, believe we can meet other people, even paying to meet others. Ridiculous.

I rarely listen to Classic FM these days

I rarely listen to Classic FM anymore due to the insane number of times they play a piece of music I hate, Mozart's "A Little Night Music". I cannot count the number of times I put on Classic FM for the 15-minute car trip into town or the beach and/or back again, and it was the first piece of music played, or one of them. So this morning, I thought hey let's listen to Classic FM while I'm working and it was Aled Jones just starting his show so I thought great! Then the first piece of music he played was - you guessed it. The radio went straight off and will be the last time I listen to Classic FM for a while. Why do they do this? It is truly mind-boggling. There is so much wonderful music and the hosts of the shows are not short of knowledge about it, but for some unfathomable reason they are fixated on playing this particular piece over and over and over and over again... It's so weird.

Bad experience

Yet another like/Fan: what ever-you-like-to-call-it who contacts you and then disappears. This has happened so many times that I feel that a previous reviewer is right. There seem to be fakes out there who appear to take an interest just to keep you on this site. Are they paid for it?

Classic FM dating- TERRIBLE SITE

Terrible!☹️ Extremely controlling over which photos are allowed! The criteria for the photos, would only be met by professional photography standards!!! You have no choice to decide which, should be your main profile photo, THEY DECIDE😕!

Unable to exchange any communication unless pay for full subscription.

Customer service was very "matter of fact" in their response. Considering the nature of this site in context, I found overall, it was appalling. Not recommended 😕

Classic fm has lost it's way!

We began listening to Classic fm many years ago and enjoyed the variety of music that they played both classical and contemporary. However over the last few years especially, their choice of music has become increasingly repetitive, playing the same pieces over and over again. Some presenters are notable for choosing the same music as they have obvious favourites which they like! It is obvious that they are now a populist radio station wanting to attract an audience with music that is comfortable and repetitive but no longer explores the true variety of the world of classical music.

Really bad

Really bad, there are very few people actually on the app.
I put my age range and distance range and there was no one.
It kept matching me with people too far away and too old.
Completely Useless.
A waste of money.

They even admit not for classical fans

Thank you for your feedback.

Whilst we appreciate your feelings on this matter, we do clearly explain this
aspect of the site under Menu > Network Services, and in the Terms (which all
users signal they have read & agreed to, when joining and again when paying)
and in the FAQ.

To reassure you, the sites that we share with are carefully chosen to match
the demographic of Classic FM. If we also managed a site that didn't fit with
the Classic FM brand and user, we would never share that site with Classic FM
Romance as they wouldn't be right for each other.

Our over-riding aim with sharing is to give users more profiles to choose from
and match up with, thus increasing their chance of success. When we have run
other sites as closed sites in the past, we received complaints about not
enough members being available!

The matching aspect of our sites works in the same way on all of them, so
you'll always be matched with profiles that match what you're looking for in
terms of the answers you've given in your profile, regardless of the site they
signed up via, especially if using the 'non-negotiable' importance rating.

We also have the 'Things in common' feature where the interests you've both
chosen will be highlighted to you - one of these is favourite types of music -
the options include Classical and Opera amongst others.

We can also reassure you that all profiles on all the sites that we manage are
checked by the same vetting and support team who have many years combined
experience in the online dating industry. We also check, by human eye, every
change made to a profile, every photo uploaded and every introductory message.

We also have a very advanced automated checking system that picks up known
flags of suspicious activity which the human team then check. We also have a
report option on every profile on the site, making it quick and easy to let us
know about any profile you may have concerns about.

We hope this helps to explain but please don't hesitate to get back to us if
you'd like us to reinstate your profile.

Kind regards,
Lisa

Not all bad

I didn’t really like the fact that this is part of a network and your profile is shown on other dating sites. However, having said that, I have met two nice genuine men who had signed up on the partner sites. The relationships didn’t work out in the end but that was not the fault of Classic FM Romance. I signed up twice, once in 2020 and again in 2023.
I never had any problems accessing the site.

Difficult to get clear impressions.

It doesn't seem a very good system for people recording their preferences. For example they may list seven or eight kinds of music they like, but you have no idea of which they like most. Ironically , relatively few list classical music!! Also, many people list numerous interests that they can't possibly pursue with equal enthusiasm. It's really hard to get a clear impression of how well you would match, despite the percentages shown. Very disappointed!

Hi all just got a email from classic FM…

Hi all just got a email from classic FM romance where they called you a bunch of liars and I qoute:

"In regards to Trustpilot reviews, we don’t believe there is really any value
spending time trying to counter-act false feedback on forums like this, versus
the time we could (and do) spend helping / supporting our existing members.

If people have a genuine complaint raised with us directly then of course, we
do our best to deal with it fairly and ethically. Our support team works from
8am-10pm seven days a week, every day of the year (including Christmas Day!)
and we are always happy to help.

A large majority of negative reviews are left by people who are unhappy that
they have not been able to force us to do something they wanted us to do.

For
example, provide a refund after they have used the service. The reviews are
their attempts at blackmail or as a method to express their anger when they
fail to force us to respond in a way we are not morally or legally obliged so
to do.

We can’t do much about this, but we can (and do) exercise our right not to
reply on those forums but I'm more than happy to respond to the points you've
raised here.

The benefits of becoming a subscriber are listed on the Rates page under
'What's in it for you?':

This page is available without needing to register or log in & clearly shows
that free members (those without a subscription) won't be able to see who has
viewed them.

We don't ask for card details to activate a free subscription - there are no
strings attached to our complimentary offers & we absolutely do not take money
from anyone's account when a free subscription ends.

To take out a paid subscription, it's necessary to enter card details, or pay
via PayPal, iTunes or GooglePlay. All of these options have auto-renewal
attached & this is very clearly mentioned throughout the payment process, in
the payment confirmation email & in the Terms of Use, & in the FAQ. we are
more than transparent when it comes to auto-renewal and when to cancel. We are
also a member of the Online Dating & Discovery Association and in order to be
so, have to pass strict guidelines especially surrounding the clarity of
auto-renewal & the ease of cancellation. We pass those guidelines and are
happy to do so.

In regards to the sharing of profiles on other dating services that we (Dating
Lab) manage, we clearly explain this aspect of the site under Menu > Network
Services, and in the Terms of Use (which all users signal they have read &
agreed to when joining) and in the FAQ.

To reassure you, the sites that we share with are carefully chosen to match

We do all we can to spot and remove scammer profiles. We check every profile,
every edit made to profiles, every photo & every introductory message sent on
the site, by human eye. We also perform regular checks on activity on the
site. As mentioned, we also have an advanced system that can track scammer
patterns and flag any profile to us that matches these patterns.

On the rare occasion that a profile does get by us, we remove it as soon as we
become aware of it and we also send a warning to any person that has swapped
contact details with that profile.

We also have a 'Report' link on every profile on the site so it's quick & easy
for members to alert us to any profile they have concerns about."

I received that from this place with no spaces.
