Braun Clocks… UK delivery... taxes to pay!
I bought the product on Braun's website - a German company. I had to pay tax on a package that came from the UK. It is unacceptable to me that a Company choice made me pay without knowing it.
The product is still in the customs process because of that.

DO NOT ORDER FROM BRAUN-CLOCKS IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE UK!!!
This website uses Royal Mail for worldwide shipping with a slow delivery time of 10-15 days but charges £20.00 for it.
My package ended up in The Netherlands, although the shipping address is in Singapore!! No solutions provided by the service team except a request for more patience until Royal Mail and the other postal service sort out their mess.
It has been now more than 3 weeks since I ordered the clock and the tracking status has not been updated in two weeks. The package is not in Singapore and the tracking number can’t be found in the local post authority’s (SingPost) tracking system. In addition, there is no such local sorting station or office as NLAMSA in Singapore! I am demanding a full refund through my credit card company as Braun-Clocks is obviously not willing to investigate and pick up the phone to contact Royal Mail.
Customer service is absolutely rubbish and refuses to follow up with Royal Mail or support tracking down the package (this can only be done by the sender).
As you can see from their reply: they leak private information (tracking number) online, hide behind excuses and shift away responsibility from themselves. This company picked Royal Mail for their shipping but refuses to take responsibility for their choice.

We have checked tracking details and it states that the parcel is in Singapore since 03/12/21. It is at the sorting office. Please kindly request to check with your local postal authority as they may have tried to deliver the parcel but unable to do so for some reason. The tracking ref for your parcel is LG859886383GB.

I order on a german website. I expect the product to be shipped from germany. Now I had to pay additional import costs since it is coming from the UK (shipping to NL). It was not properly mentioned during checkout. I’ll never order again.

Not a German shop
I was quite sure I was buying from a German store - but that is not the case here. It’s a UK webshop and they are NOT handling any vat or customs. So if you are purchasing from EU do not buy from here, as it will be way to costly. This fact is hidden deep in the terms and conditions :-(

Why are you shipping from UK
Why are you shipping from UK? Had is been from EU the VAT issues had been less and you could claim the real price on the sales page creating less confusion/disappointment.

DO NOT BUY from this website if you live in the European Union. They ship from the UK and you will have to pay extra custom duties, and that's REALLY expensive. They lead you to think it's a German website, but in the end they ship from the UK, and once the parcel is shipped there's no way out, you've got to pay the taxes. Their customer care isn't helpful. They won't refound you. They won't help you. You just end up spending way more than just buying on any other site.

I have to take two stars away because you don’t say in your website that the alarm clock was being shipped from the UK . I bought it on your German website and it was specified as EU flat rate. But then my surprise was that I had to pay 16.50 eur in custom taxes! It is not fair for the costumer. The clock is fine otherwise.

Expensive shipping and customs
It should be made clear that BRAUN, a german company, ships from outside the EU. So, after adding cost for shipping and customs one would realise to better find a local shop to get the products faster and cheaper.

Awful buying experience
Awful buying experience. Don't recommend it.
Same product available elsewhere at a cheaper price and no shipping cost.
Plus, their DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) policy is a joke.
You'll have to pay import duties, clearance fees, etc. when purchasing from outside the UK.
As if they were some minor seller and not an international reputable company that has been around for "100 years"...
Most prominent sellers shipping from the UK offer DDP nowadays.
And the customer service answering every complaining client that their policies are clearly stated on the website is out of this world.
Of course, the policies are stated.
But that doesn't make them less ridiculous.

Opinion
The quality of BRAUN clock is very good ! I am the fan of this brand. But the huge negative for me, citizen of the EU,that it was not possible to order from german suppliers. This could only be done from a UK e-shop and I need paid an additional duty.

costs for customs quite high.
The high costs for customs were not clear for me as I ordered the watch. It was unclear for me to see that shipping would be from the UK to Germany. It was disappointing to have no chance for a compensation.

The watch is very nice but at this price it should point the time more precisely. I am referring to the second hand which is not that accurate and falls in between equal second measures. Another problem that I have observed is that on the inner side of the mesh bracelet, after one month of daily wear, there are already signs of weariness. The black paint is slowly going off and the silver layer emerges. Maybe I will have to use the guarantee.
