Bad dealership

We purchased a new Kia picanto and gave two cars back for one. We took cars back as requested first the manuel and when we took second car the automatic we should have driven off with our new car. They would not let us as they hadn’t sorted finance off as promised so they lent my husband a hire car with only him insured on it so I became car less. 5 days later still not allowed car have received the log book but no car as they keep fobbing us off with finance hasn’t cleared. Not the way to keep customers happy. Certainly won’t buy another car from Kia.

The reception I get varies so much…

The reception I get varies so much depending on who's on the service desk. Sometimes it's welcoming and friendly others it's almost like I'm being an inconvenience just being there.

The quality of the work carried out is appalling. I've had interior trim damaged, things not working correctly after a service that were fine before the car went in, parts not fitted correctly and incorrect parts used.

On one occasion I had to resort to court proceedings to recover costs that Kia UK had assured me they would cover. When they did eventually pay up there was no sign of remorse and no apology for my inconvenience.

Would have given KIA dealership and KIA…

Would have given KIA dealership and KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE ZERO. This is very poor service. No updates, no dates. It’s unbelievable that only now it’s been appreciated that the car is will have to be seen by a specialist EV engineer since not even the breakdown service could restart the battery or the hybrid system OVER 2 MONTHS AGO!!! This is getting very disappointing and frustrating as I'm paying finance, the car is under warranty and as a single mum of two young children with special needs and school about to start, I need a date when I’ll have my car back. OMBUDSMAN is the next step!!!

DO NOT BUY KIA

DO NOT BUY KIA. My Kia Picanto has just 23000 miles on the clock, and the instrument cluster has failed. Kia say they can not supply a new cluster. So, with just 23000 miles on the clock, the car is scrap, and KIA do not care. DO NOT TOUCH A KIA CAR.

Very poor dealer support

2 yr old car currently in Allen Kia Bath for "warranty" repairs. Third time in, but they seem unable to even look at it, simply keeping it a few days then admitting they have no parts/technician to do the repair, giving it back and re-booking for another month ahead. No communication on (lack of) progress (they have never made the promised calls back to us), no courtesy cars so we are paying for replacements. Contacted, Kia UK for help and they simply washed their hands, saying nothing to do with them as dealers are independent franchises. The Kia 7 year warranty sounds like a good thing, but the lack of dealer support makes it very hollow. Nice cars, but next time we will buy from a manufacturer with a decent dealer network.

Kia in Arnold Nottingham

Kia in Arnold Nottingham
First time buying a Kia had a look around the showroom we were very impressed with the cars,
Sam the salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful he was only to happy to help and answer all of our questions without us feeling pressured eventually we settled on taking a EV3 out to test drive.
Which was a joy so decision made😀 had the car now for 3 months love it. In that time had one small problem one of the mirrors stopped folding in completely, just turned up once again Sam very helpful went above and beyond to sorted us a courtesy car for as long as needed turn out only a day mirror completely replaced without fuss.
GREAT SERVICE

Safety recall just to inconvenience customers

Our car was booked in for a safety recall at the manufacturers request, the lady booing said what time would you like it done. We agreed on 10.30. I arrived at 10.15 to be told it will be ready at 5pm, after initially being told it would be no more than an hour. It's not acceptable to be sat in a dealership ALL day. I have limited mobility and cannot walk far.
There are no courtesy cars available for recall work, only for paying customers. Don't stand by your workmanship, make it as inconvenient as possible to punish buyers of your products. It took me an hour and a half to get there this morning, appalling service.

Kia Bolton absolute rubbish

Kia Bolton absolute rubbish. Went in in March 2024 to buy a car but the system was down so promised a call back, and 16 months later it still never happened so I bought it somewhere else, now trying to BUY a service plan and promised a call from the service team, 7 days later still no call. Speak to Kia customer service and they send you to the dealer who never call back. If this is the service they offer when I am trying to buy something imagine how bad it would be if I had an issue. I have had 4 Kia's now and this will be my last one

DM Kieth Kia Leeds.

DM Kieth Kia Leeds.
Absolute pleasure from ordering to picking up my new car.
Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and explained fully how the Motability Scheme works and how it would help me to purchase my new car.
He was instrumental in me choosing this route , as it had always worried me in the past.
Tony kept me informed regularly regarding when the car would arrive and when the adaptation work would be carried out.
The whole experience has been stress free and very straightforward .
I love the new Kia Sportage and would highly recommend the Leeds Kia dealership to anyone who wants an excellent buying experience.

I would have given them a 5 star review…

I would have given them a 5 star review except for the fact that one person at the desk let them down .
I had a front camera replaced and when the work was don , the bumper was not put on straight . Had words with a certain individual that worked on the desk .
After trying to sort out the mess , I finally had a call from the service manager Bobbie !
He sorted it out with flying colours, excellent service ,polite to the point and extremely professional.
Hopefully the of his staff will take note of how it should be done .
Well done Bobbie. And thank you !

Never fail to disappoint and under deliver

Kia Washington never fail to disappoint. I have an electric EV6. I love the car, but wish I hadn't bought it. The charges at Kia Washington are exorbitant and they are slapdash in their treatment of customers. Despite paying £560 for a service, the car was not valetted this time.
Previously, I have had to wait 6 weeks for warranty work to be done because they have insufficient mechanics. My car was not driveable at this time. I had to pay for a hire car. There was no help whatsoever from Kia.
Neither do they take American Express. If they want to charge premium rates, they should accept all cards.
I am totally dissatisfied and I wont be buying another car from Kia.

Excellent service

I recently had work done on my Peugeot at Acorn Macclesfield, although not a Peugeot dealer anymore, they sorted my car no problem.
Lesley and Danielle, very pleasant and helpful and went above and beyond to help me out with my transport problems.
Other staff very helpful also.
Will definitely use again when need arises.

KIA UK don't care so franchises don't. BURTON KIA no after sales and no care from management

Burton Kia - My worst experience- No Customer care.

Contacted Kia UK about below. They said they could not help and was not bothered that franchises were treating customers like this. I asked them that the brand was getting damaged they did not care.

In my view, if you are considering buying a vehicle from Burton Kia you are doing so at your own risk. It is essential you thoroughly inspect every aspect of the car yourself. This means check every single thing works. The switches, buttons, both keys, wing mirrors, and the overall condition of the body, among other things. Do not take delivery or proceed with payment until you are completely satisfied and have verified that everything functions correctly. The dealership places the onus of inspection on the buyer, as they do not assume any responsibility afterwards even though they claim they have checked and give a warranty. If you are fortunate, you may encounter no problems; however, if issues arise, you will find it impossible to communicate with this dealer, as they become unresponsive.

I encountered several issues:

1- Car was being valeted upon arrival even though I had paid deposit 6 days prior. Once it was ready, I discovered multiple rust spots and paint chips on the vehicle which were not shown on video.

2. One of the keys was non-functional. It was resolved by programming the key to the car. Fortunately, we checked this. Had we left and found out later then it definitely would not have been rectified by them as you will see below.

3. While driving home, I noticed that the driver's side wing mirror was missing a big piece of plastic and had a crack in the black casing. This damage was not mentioned in the initial video or at any other time before. Had this issue been disclosed in the initial video and they would sell it as it is then I would not have purchased the vehicle. On their logic, they should not have highlighted and repaired the seat. Unfortunately, I have to look at this wing mirror every time I drive therefore reminding me of the terrible treatment I have received from Burton Kia.

4- The buttons for the cup holder fail to function as they do not slide open when pressed. It is evident that this issue was not examined by trained technicians, contrary to their claims. The right side cup holder is loose so comes away from the unit. what is the purpose of their own "comprehensive 12-month warranty along with the remainder of manufacture Kia warranty guaranteed". Another claim they advertise and not deliver.

5- The vehicle was advertised on Autotrader with 2 years of breakdown coverage. Upon my arrival, I was informed that it only included one year due to the vehicle's age.

6- The worst part of this purchase. It was only after I expressed my concerns via email, rather than at the time of the part exchange handover, that they raised an issue regarding the service history. The sales manager, Shane Ward asserted that my part exchange lacked full service history, a claim I never made in any initial conversation with him or at the time of the agreed deal. In my view, surely any discrepancy should have been raised at the handover not this way of trying not to offer any solution by blaming the service history of the part exchange.

7- Warning light on the car has come on within a couple of weeks. As they have not been replying to the above there was no point contacting them. In my view, I don't feel the car was checked properly given all the issues I have encountered.

Shane Ward stopped replying to
my initial complaint so I contacted the branch manager, Lee Hale. I provided Lee the email evidence of the part exchange service history which I got from the garage they sold the car to. This showed I gave the service history not what Shane claimed. Lee did not reply to my complaint. I also exercised my rights under Consumer Rights Act 2015 which Lee replied that I had to deal with Shane regarding this even though I had an active complaint against Shane.

Finally, when no response was received then I emailed Charlie Bullock the managing director with all the above. He has also not replied.

I have put a detailed review on Burton Kia facebook page as limited here on words. There are videos and pictures of all the above.

The cost of parts is outrageous

Last year I bought a 6 year old Kia Ce'ed. Perfectly happy with the car, comfortable, reliable and drives well, although occasionally the automatic is a bit sticky in low gears.

I've just had it MOT'd. The drivers door mirror indicator repeater was broken and needed replacement. £121.90 for a strip of LEDs. How can this be justified? The mechanic's view was that KIAs are really good cars, but the parts are a rip-off.

One star would really be pushing it

One star would really be pushing it, our kia sportage is 2 years old, been serviced regularly and was bought for the fact that we wanted piece of mind, well that couldn't be any further from the truth 8 week after purchase (from new) we had an issue with a sensor that had to be changed, 6 months on the same issue this time we managed to clear the fault (basically every 3/6 months the fault needs clearing, we had it pip up again a couple of months ago but every time it's clear the next day it back, we took it to the dealer who charged us £180 to fix even the car is still under warranty, they had the car for 3 days, we collected it and on the way home the same issue popped up, we took it back again 2 days and then cleared but less than a mile into leaving again issue pops up, we took it back for the third time after nearly a week we got the phone call that while trying to repair the car we have broken something else (what!!!) And the parts needed are on back order and will be weeks maybe months, ok well we need a car but guess what nothing available for nearly another week, we was due to go on holiday and have had to cancel the day before so again more money down the drain. I suppose what I am trying to advise is never buy a Kia there is no customer care in fact they just don't care. 🤬🤬🤬
