Wrongful $9000+ USD worth of fees
Wrongful $6162 USD worth of fees
Degiro has falsely charged me for a total of $6.162,58 USD in 2022. Something that I consider a total scam.
Keep in mind my total portfolio value is around $150.000 USD
When I called Degiro to dig deeper as to why I was suddenly finding a huge deficit in my account balance worth, I was told that the expense was charged because of an attempt I had made to allocate additional funds.
When I told them that I have never been approved to invest with additional funds, and that my account is locked to whatever I have on my balance, they say that doesn't matter, and that I am charged by whatever I applied for.
I then ask them "well what if I had applied for 10x the amount, would I then have been charged 10x" where the response was yes. Even if it was not approved.
They refuse to pay me back and cannot explain why I was charged for something that I was never allowed to invest with.
I am taking legal action and reporting Degiro to Degiro to the Financial Services Complaints Tribunal (KiFiD)
Update 03/05:
They have 4 weeks later not responded to my complaint, and have again removed USD 3000$ from my account for "fees" even though the support last month advice me that it would not happen.
I have now lost close to 10.000$ USD on fees to degiro all while my total balance/portfolio has never been greater than 150.000$, and while never trading any options.
I see no other option than to sell all my stock and remove it from the platform so they can no longer take more of my money

Beware: Cheap means terrible service in the case of DEGIRO
They claim that they don’t send any information to tax authorities and it’s the users responsibility to do that. I have been doing that regularly and correctly based on their year end reports, however they sent some information to the tax authorities last year which lists my gains as way higher than they were (can be cross verified with DEGIRO’s own report for my return in 2020). I contacted them to ask where the numbers are coming from
And that they should correct that. First they insisted I was wrong and no information was sent. Then I told them my tax authorities confirmed that DEGIRO sent the info. After a month of back and forth I got an answer from DEGIRO saying our legal team does send info sometimes and we need to confirm with them what was sent. It’s been three weeks where they promised they would get back in 3 days. Terrible customer service and they don’t realize or care that I might get in trouble with the tax authorities because of their mistake as I have to prove I am telling the truth. Moving my account if it does not get resolved soon.
Big problems transferring money from Degiro
I have for over 3 weeks - tried something as simple as transferring deposits from my Degiro account to my bank account. I am being rejected on standard grounds;
Your payout request has been denied due to one or more reasons. Please check that there are sufficient funds available and submit the necessary documentation.
It is not about sufficient funds, but about submitting the necessary documentation.
Here are two options
1. Either use Trustly, which does not work because my bank is not connected to Trustly.
2. Submit a copy of a previous transfer. I can´t do this because it does not give Degiro the necessary information, among other things because it does not show my bank account number.
And what do we do now ? - and no - I don’t´ want to ask my bank (because I will have to be pay for this service) , to send documentations. Degiro can call my bank, to confirm my bank account.
Can´t understand it´s so difficult. I use two other trading platforms (Saxo and Nordnet) and have no problems transferring money….
Degiro is trustworthy and easy to use.
Now with the option to switch to English, we can finally trade!
The UI is not user friendly at all in…
- The UI is not user friendly at all in compare with other trading platform.
- For an important stock market like NYSE there is a 15 minute delay in prices and it's not even possible to pay to have the real time prices.
- The diagrams are not useful and has none of the major features that you can find in other platforms.
- You can't select the language. You must use the language based on the country you're in, so if you live in another country, useless.
- Quite a lot of time you can't place the order on time (for me it was in NDQ) so you may totally lose the opportunity if you rely on this platform.
Seems there is a reason that it's cheap.
Try to evaluate its features before bringing your money in.
Bad account opening experience...
I have now tried to open an account since 26/3, it is 16/4 today and I still haven't received an email confirmation.
When I first registered on Degiro, a message popped up stating that I am number 37 in the queue and will be contacted shortly. I have waited 3 weeks now and there is still no mail. I am still number 37! This is really annoying!

Exactly what you payed for
You cannot have the platform in English so I have to use my broken Danish.
The platform is horribly layed out, it takes 5 clicks to find anything.
Tabs within tabs is not a good design. I'm looking at a stock, want to see the options for it, but I have clicked the Options tab of the "parent". So I have to redo the whole thing.
And the list of options available is almost nonexistent.
But it does work and it is cheap compared to others. So it is OK.

#Not available in English in Denmark ... this really sucks. How ridiculous is it to assume that every person living in Denmark 1st needs to learn Danish to make trades. I have actually made some mistakes on my trades coz of this.

Rubbish broker.
Rubbish broker.
The cheap fees are for a reason, the website simply doesnt work properly.
Lagging interface, poorly worded error messages, trades not registering, etc.
Cheap and cheerful.
Wouldn't recommend.
